We've got a boat, it makes frequent stops for wine, pissy sticks, wool, slings, cake and all manner of shit we don't need yet but we buy anyway!

Hi all. I'm so behind with this thread! So exciting so many people have joined (and welcome!).
I need to have a rant and sorry tmi! - my period is 14 days late for first time ever. Can't put it down to contraception cos I have the non-hormonal coil and normally v regular. Took a test last wk just in case and it was negative. I've been really worried but saw the dr yesterday and she really annoyed me! Said I might be pg. I said oh no but I've been drinking etc. She said oh well if you're preg with coil you'll just miscarry anyway! Is that supposed to be comforting?? I asked if she could test me and no - have to book in with the nurse for that and it's 2wks before there's a free appointment. Argh. So I took another test and def not pregnant, and still none the wiser as to why random missed period. Gonna hold out for next month I guess and see what happens.

Sorry, shd say I know there's not really anything they can do when it's just one month, but it was more her attitude that was annoying! I may be irrational but at least humour me!

Ovia reckons I'm in my fertile window but it's the 1st cycle and no indication of ovulation so I'm not convinced. It's pretty irrelevant anyway as DH is still on another continent! It might actually be handy if my cycle is long as I don't think he'll be impressed if he gets back and I'm on my period so sex is off the menu!

Harriet - that's super unhelpful! It's ok, when I hit 30 I had a doctor look me in the eye and ask me when am I going to get on with things! The reason for the delay could be stress related?

Going back a bit, it's very difficult when people keep asking. It's driving me slightly mad to be honest....such a personal question, and there could be all manner of things going on! And I'm highly unlikely to tell work colleagues above close friends and family

Had ovulation cramps today Just feels like period cramps tbh.

Sounds likes I'm only a few days off from your cycle as ovia says I go into mine at weekend. Are you using the sticks?! Fingers crossed it holds off for you until DH returns!

Hi shelb - no not using sticks but I remember in the dim and distant past pre-pill getting ovulation pain (in fact I vividly remember having to sit on the floor in M&S aged about 16 because I couldn't stand!) I assume I'll get something similar again - although hopefully less drastic!

harriet sounds like an arse of a doctor. On a positive note bough I've heard of people not miss carrying after coil removal and even a baby being born pretty much holding the coil! Can you try calling early mornings for a cancellation.

I have a tmi announcement... Sore nips! First time ever. I never get sore nipples or tender boobs. Going to sleep with a huge smile on my face when I really should be reigning myself in. 10 more days until I can test mustn't get ahead of myself!!

Harriet that Dr sounds like a right arse and as others have said, if you are pregnant with a coil in you may well go on to have a perfectly healthy pregnancy, there are a lot of articles including one on the NHS website (if memory serves me) saying that the coil just gets pushed out of the way as the baby grows.

Latest news from my screwed up body... Period is back I think I might get som internet cheapy ov tests. I've got some Superdrug but you only get 5 tests and knowing my luck I'll run out before ovulating!

Ah runner, at least you know a proper cycle is kicking in I suppose? Yeah get some 50p sticks, join me! To be fair the seem to work, at least they pick up the LH hormone. Currently trying to Google when is the best time of day to do them (rather than huge 10-8 window).

I have been a bit quiet again, I felt so exhausted last night and had really bad indigestion that was making me feel sick. It was really weird. It is so frustrating waiting to test.

I swore that I wouldn't feed my obsessive symptom spotting behaviour anymore but last night I caved and used a pissy stick, negative (obviously) and I'm on cd26 of who knows how long a cycle...

It's like I'm waiting for some kind of magic sign to tell me what my body's doing...and that all is ok...a neon sign would do just as well

Purple - sounds painful, but maybe a positive sign??

bunch - used my second pisser today. Last nights was a def pink line at 7pm, the one today at 12.30 had no line at all. Guna try again tonight at 7 as I also drink loads of water during the day so wonder if it was diluted.

Ooh bargain alert. Superdrug are doing the clearblue digital ovulation kits (10 tests so a months worth if you have a regular cycle and know when to test, unlike me!) reduced to 2.30 from about 20 quid!!

Bloody hell Ni must go to Superdrug tomorrow now!!!

Shelb you'll have to let us all know what you think of the ov tests. I'm hoping to do them this month as temping obviously didn't work due to my nighttime mouth breathing!!!

AF is definitely here now. I think my body started spotting when it expected me to come of the pill but if memory serves me my cycle before the pill was a little longer than the 4 week controlled cycle so that might explain the confusion. Oh well CD1 of cycle 2. Fingers crossed for a nice sticky embryo this month

Oh and just realised that my test date next month is Christmas Day! Fingers crossed for a extra Christmas present

Ps unexpectedly good side effect from mean doctor was my OH's reaction - he was actually excited at thought I might be pg already! If it wasn't for the thought of all the lovely baileys over xmas (and massive suspicion from family and friends) we'd probably start now! Roll on Jan.

Breaking news! We have run out of condoms! suggested to Dh whilst in supermarket that we'd better get some more and he went "oh why bother! You're determined! Well I'm feeling thoroughly rubbish today. AF has decided to make me feel absolutely rubbish, and I feel fat and I have to spend the morning Christmas shopping with sis (in case you haven't cottoned on yet, we don't really get on) I just want to stay in bed and go back to sleep!
On a slightly more serious note, sis's presence is making you stress problems worse she's very difficult and delights in stressing me out, she actually thinks it's funny. Not what I need right now.
