We weren't supposed to start till January! But we did!
Join us as we ttc #1 after pill/contraception etc.

We've got a boat, it makes frequent stops for wine, pissy sticks, wool, slings, cake and all manner of shit we don't need yet but we buy anyway!

Morning ladies

Runner I hope you have a nice day out. Try to keep your mind on other things and like you say test tomorrow to put your mind at ease.

I'm currently enjoying a cuppa in bed the cold is putting me off moving for now. Coming to the end of my fertile window according to Ovia. We have been dtd lots so fingers crossed but we will see its fun anyway.

Happy Sunday all.

shelbTa · 22/11/2015 09:22

Morning ladies.

Runner - you thinking it could be implantation bleed? I don't know enough about it really....but I hope it is!

I've got a cracking headache, could be from the gin and wine, but my body also gives me distinctive headaches when hormones fluctuate during my cycle and wondering if my body is thinking - hmm, I should be getting a daily dose of hormones right about now

X

Ni4444 · 22/11/2015 10:28

Morning ladies! Still waiting for a positive on the ol ovulation pissy stick, but sticking firm to the sperm meets egg plan, so every second day since CD8. I'm so glad OH is so on board for this. I told him the dtd days and he's sticking to it! Should be peak fertility now.

Purple I'd love tea in bed -it's so cold outside the duvet! But I reckon I better get breakfast going. OH can never get the poached eggs right...hope he's better at cooking my eggs!! Wink

leoniethelioness · 22/11/2015 11:02

I'm not sure about the percentages but I read last night that in every 100 couples trying for a baby:

around 30 will conceive within one month
around 75 will conceive within six months
around 80–90 will conceive within one year
the remaining 10–20 will take longer or may need help to get pregnant.

leoniethelioness · 22/11/2015 11:12

It's just occurred to me that I didn't post my stats earlier in the week.

26 (soon to be 27)
Third cycle off the pill
TTC after Christmas (using condoms in the meantime)
CD29 - my last cycle was 37 days so, unless my cycle is still up in the air from years on the pill, I think this means I have long cycles
Expecting AF any time between now and 1 December

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/11/2015 13:42

Hiya guys! It was bloody freezing last night! I nearly went to bed wearing a hat! Sorry you're feeling rubbish runner try not to think about testing and see what happens, periods are bastards, and are even bigger bastards when you don't want one to arrive! It could be implantation bleeding, you never know though.

Ovulation tests are also bastards, you never know if the line is dark enough to constitute an actual ovulation!

I'm feeling christmassy and wintery today!

Nurse15 · 22/11/2015 14:01

Grumpy because I'm on cd 19 and no ovulation yet - how is anyone meant to get knocked up?!? Grin

Runner05 · 22/11/2015 14:09

Shel, Stark I don't really think it's implantation bleed, just wishful thinking as I definitely feel like I'm coming on. Oh well.

I'm desperate to put the tree up... Partially because then I can wrap the presents and get them out of the bedroom!!!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/11/2015 14:31

runner don't despair, it's shit and annoying, I'm trying to think of it like playing the lottery, I'll give it my best go, but it's all chance and you never know when your numbers will come up.

OP posts:
Runner05 · 22/11/2015 15:55

Very true Stark but I hope I have more chance of getting upduffed than I do of winning the lotto!! Confused

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/11/2015 16:21

You do indeed runner much more of a chance! And that's why we're here, with our little boat, although I think it's more of a canal boat than a yacht, as we are all plodding along, very relaxed about ttc at the minute ha . It will happen.

Newmrs22 · 22/11/2015 16:28

Afternoon ladies. It's bloody cold!

I caved and tested yesterday afternoon. Was negative. Still no AF although felt a little crampy last night. I'm on CD31. Never wanted my period to come so much! I want to get started on the next cycle!

BunchOfBobs · 22/11/2015 18:58

Evening all.

Bit of an update here. I've mentioned in passing before we have a history for a sparse sex life. We've had a heart to heart after rejection again and where we are now is that we are happy to not use contraception and I we get pregnant then amazing. But the added pressure of we HAVE to have sex every other day is just not going to work for DH us. I'm much happier now I know where we stand. I felt every time he said he wasn't in the mood that he was lying about wanting to TTC. Bless him he was a bit oblivious to what activity TTC actually meant.

Things have massively improved DTD wise for us. We're now at least once a week (when I'm here) but we have in the past had a 4 month dry spell but it was normally every 6 weeks. The last thing I want to do is bugger up any improvement we have there with added pressure. It will happen, but I imagine it will take time. I don't expect to get upduffed anytime soon anymore, and I'm okay with that.

shelbTa · 22/11/2015 20:01

Sounds positive bunch!

X

456hana · 22/11/2015 20:33

Bunch - that sounds a like a good, relaxed attitude to take.

Leonie - I bought my ovulation tests (OPKs?) from access diagnostics, along with the box a cheap pregnancy tests! They are nothing fancy, literally just sticks, no casing, but I figured that as they weren’t 100% going to work I didnt want to waste a lot on then, plus they recommend using twice per day (at 10am and then I think 8pm, or something like that.

Runner05 · 22/11/2015 22:01

Sounds like you've had a really good air cleaning session Bunch I hope things go a bit more smoothly for you now.

I've come to the conclusion that unless you're extraordinarily lucky ttc is all about waiting patiently... Waiting for AF to sod off, waiting for fertile week, the two week wait, waiting to see if AF will show rinse and repeat yawn! Need a magic wand Hmm

Ni4444 · 22/11/2015 22:19

Aw Bunch it sounds like things have been stressful... It's bloody hard to accept a no from the OH when we want to dtd for ttc! Could send a sane woman into a raving lunatic! Glad you guys talked though, and you know that you both want the same thing. Crossing my fingers and toes for you that you'll manage to coordinate dtd on your most fertile day!

Ladies, sorry but I can't make head nor tail of those ov stick pics...glad I got the digital one...no room for me doubting my eyes! Although I am still waiting for it to say yes! CD17 on an unknown length cycle (32 last time). Fingers crossed it's tomorrow! Hope to God I am ovulating this cycle! #soimpatient House buying is going nowhere so looks like we're going to have move to another rental place in the next few months before we'll manage to find a home to buy! Hate the idea of all that moving when I want to be nesting!

shelbTa · 23/11/2015 08:12

Morning everyone,

Ni - have you been using the cheapo piss sticks? After saying I wouldn't use them in debating buying some today slap me.

Runner - totally agree, you can see how you could become totally obsessed with it, and it really taking over, wishing time away. Are you still spotting?

Well - I feel weird three days off the pill. Cracking headache (but it expected that), I feel a little calmer I think (I'm normally quite highly strung), and TMI warning - I am frisky. Like notably more frisky! before my sex drive was pretty low, almost like a reverse version of your situation bunch, OH wanting it but not getting it.**

purplesmiler · 23/11/2015 08:50

Morning all

Brr it was bitterly cold this morning, to make matters worse ive started with cold/flu again grr only had it three weeks ago. I keep looking at my work diary thinking please one of these meetings cancel so I can just have a couple of hours to catch up on everything else. Sorry ladies Im in a bit of a moaning mood and it is Monday.

Ive been feeling a pullling in the left side of my stomach, im hoping its linked to TTC but maybe thats wishful thinking on my part.

shelb make the most of feeling frisky it will help when it comes to your fertile window but remember to enjoy it!

Ni sorry to hear you arent getting anywhere with the house hunting. Ours is taking longer than envisaged to process through unforseen circumstances on the vendor's side. We did think we may be moved by Christmas but have now been told its unlikely so our current house is still a mess with boxes.

runner I have to say since my window finished all I have had on my mind is testing, I have over a week to wait still but its there. Hope you are ok.

BunchOfBobs · 23/11/2015 09:38

Morning everyone,

Brr isn't it just Purple it's freezing!! I've got a nightmare of a house cleaning task ahead of me. It's a tip. I blame the kitchen fun. The two downstairs reception rooms are filled with doors, cabinet packaging and exploded polystyrene thanks to an obsessed dog.

As I was away a week of course DH didn't do any laundry and I have a mega food shop to do. I need this all in order by Wednesday morning as a friend of DHs is coming to stay until Friday morning when I then have 4 family members coming to stay.

Thankfully it'll keep my mind off the tww this week (however likely the chance is).

Aren't Monday's brilliant?!

Ni4444 · 23/11/2015 11:33

Shelb I'm using the clearblue digital test which is supposed to give you a heads up (a digital smiley face so no doubts!) before ovulation so you can dtd prior to O, but it's day 18 and I still haven't had a positive! That said I had a 32day cycle last month first month off the pill so I guess it could be any number! I've read great things about the test so I hope it'll give me a smile at some point! It's about 19 quid...but very easy to use so I thought id shell out for it. I'll let you know if it works!

Morwenna1 · 23/11/2015 13:00

Bunch - That's great news that things have improved and as you say, you don't need to add any more pressure. Things will happen when they happen Smile

I like the lottery analogy Stark - it really is I guess!

Well, today is O day (is that the technical term?!) so I'm heading into the tww...lol! Starting to think about Christmas plans and how difficult it will be to avoid drinking if I'm upduffed by then!!

So cold...I'm digging out the hot water bottles later..

shelbTa · 23/11/2015 13:38

Thanks ni. Oh yeah I saw them at the weekend, I can't believe how much they charge for this stuff! Ive just bought some off amazon for like 50p I imagine they will be useless but will give them a go until the novelty factor has worn off! Hmm day 18, it might be just around the corner hey if your last cycle was that long? Is this your second cycle? I'm really interested to see if anything will happen to me ovulation wise, i just can imagine my body will snap back after the pill for...

Hi purple! A few people describe a pulling sensation don't they...

Loving the frosty weather.

X

BunchOfBobs · 23/11/2015 17:00

Ladies I'm very confused.

I've had groin pain for the last two days on and off. Not like my usual ov pain. I've just noticed I've got EWCM again. Just a week after I last had it. Why is my body being weird?! I'm going to attempt to entice DH regardless but I'm baffled!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 23/11/2015 17:35

I am sooooo cold! I might be freezing to DEATH! I'm not being over dramatic either much Sad
