We weren't supposed to start till January! But we did!
Join us as we ttc #1 after pill/contraception etc.

We've got a boat, it makes frequent stops for wine, pissy sticks, wool, slings, cake and all manner of shit we don't need yet but we buy anyway!

Stopped taking my pill in February, had only one period in that time but it was beginning of nov so hoping that this may return to normal soon. Not officially TTC but not using any contraception!

Runner05 · 19/11/2015 17:20

Hi Nurse welcome to the thread Smile

StarkyTheDirewolf · 19/11/2015 17:27

Hi nurse welcome!

runner I do my decorating under the cover of darkness, I wait till Dh has gone to work and then go balls to the wall on Christmas! There's no way he'd take it down as a)he's too lazy and knows I'd just put it back up the second he went out, and b)I approach it like a child and text him telling him there's a big surprise at home and it's all very exciting! This is also due to the fact that when he comes home, I don't want him to be startled by the Christmas tree and punch it thinking it's a burglar!

Welcome nurse!

Starky runner I LOVE Christmas! I cannot wait either.

X

Nurse15 · 19/11/2015 18:01

Thanks guys :) I also cannot wait to get my Christmas decorations up! Hoping to get them out of the attic next week!! The excitement :)

BubbaNo1 · 19/11/2015 18:29

I love Christmas!!! Got to have the Christmas music playing in the background! Ovulation week starts today... Time to ramp up the DTD!

Ni4444 · 19/11/2015 19:11

I hear ya Runner! I could never see the point of yoga in the past but my job is so blastedly exhausting now that I don't have the energy or willingness to do anything more than roll about stretching in the evenings!! thankfully dtd also fits into that! Wink

Runner05 · 19/11/2015 19:58

Elevated sense of smell is still in residence. Had to wash my hands twice earlier because something I'd touched smelled of feet and now I'm sat in a near empty pub feeling sick because I can smell the smokers sitting on the other side of the room Confused

happybus28 · 19/11/2015 21:29

Sounds promising runner!!

I can't wait for Christmas either, I'm holding off putting mine up at home for a couple of weeks but I'm going to put the one at work up tomorrow which will either ease my craving to put mine up at home or make it worse!!!

DrWhy · 19/11/2015 23:27

Ooh, stats;
Age: 34
TTC: no 1.
Cycle: 1(ish, not off the pill a week yet!)

Starky I'm with you on the Christmas decorations! DH gets home on the 5th Dec and I'm not sure whether to have the tree up and house decorated ready or whether to drag him out tree shopping the day after he gets back - I love it Grin looks like we have a thread of Christmas fans! I spent last weekend making mincemeat and Christmas cake, this weekend might be flavoured alcohol.

Runner hmm... So maybe still a chance then... Just stay away from the pissy sticks for a few days! Smile

Hi Nurse and welcome.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 20/11/2015 04:51

Just found out another person I know is pregnant, dsis told me as a heads up so I can be prepared with straight face "oh how lovely! " for when my dm tells me! She knew I'd probably have an interesting facial repetoire! And didn't want me to give myself away in front of family members, as I've been saying "oh it will be a good few years yet before kids !" Mainly to put people off asking me about it, I'm the eldest girl sans offspring family wise and I've been gently ribbed about it for years very subtly. I want them to think it's my choice we don't have any yet!

Dh resolve is weakening Grin

So this just happened...

Top stick is just an ovulation test I did first.

I've only been off the pill a few weeks and haven't even had a proper period!? I'm really nervous about telling OH!!

purplesmiler · 20/11/2015 07:49

Morning ladies. It's Friday wohoo I am so pleased this week has been hectic. Hope we are all ok?

MissClarke wow congratulations! Can see those lines. I'm sure your OH will be happy. When are you telling him?

Well we have been extra busy given its my ovulation week, it's been fun as always. I didn't take an OV test so I'm going by the app and my body showed the symptoms. I would love for it to happen so quickly.

Runner05 · 20/11/2015 07:51

Congrats Miss, I'm super jealous! How many dpo are you, did you test after missing AF and did you have any symptoms?

Stark sounds like you've almost worn OH down. Just keep at it literally!

Woke up to cramps today. The witch is due tomorrow and I'm fully expecting her to arrive. Still I'm heading out to watch Bellowhead tonight so maybe I'll just say sod it and have a cider.

I've decided to quit doing bbt. Apparently I sleep with my mouth open so it's not terribly accurate and I think it's making me more crazy obsessive than I need to be. I've got a couple of ov sticks to try and pinpoint next months ovulation instead.

harrietm87 · 20/11/2015 08:11

Oh wow! Congratulations MissClarke!!!!
This is so exciting. Lol that this thread was for people starting to ttc in dec/jan!

I however am still waiting till new year. My stats:
Harriet
Age 28 (29 in jan)
With oh for 6 years
On non-hormonal contraception (coil) and getting it out in jan
Have had v regular cycles but missing AF this month so bit perturbed. Def not preg so thinking maybe it's down to stress...not good!

MissClarke86 · 20/11/2015 12:02

Thanks ladies. purple I'll tell him tonight, I'm really nervous!?

runner No symptoms and no idea how many days!! Last period was withdraw from pill. Had spotting last week which I thought was my first period but must have been implantation!? Gurgle stomach today but I think that's shock!!

shelbTa · 20/11/2015 15:05

Congrats miss that's so exciting! On cycle one too!

Aw runner we shall see what we shall see. You know we are all rooting for you, especially as one of the originals of this thread! Here - have a jammy dodger Biscuit.

Yeah Stark that sounds like a man who is about to give in!

Purple - I'm thinking I'm just going to go by the app like you for the first few cycles.

Well think AF is tailing off now, would be taking my pill again to nori normally. Eek. AM I REALLY DOING THIS!!?!?

X

DrWhy · 20/11/2015 16:42

Shelb that is exactly how I feel!! The first day I didn't take mine I asked DH about 3 times if it was really OK if I didn't take it!

Starky you'll have him convinced in no time!

runner you know that having a cider tonight is a guaranteed way to get a BFP after the weekend. Whereupon you will panic for 9 months about what 1 cider at 10 days pregnant might have done Grin

miss Congrats and 'eek' I'm assuming it's going to take at least 3-9 months!

Lolly90 · 20/11/2015 17:03

Hey guys how is everyone? Missed I go away for a a few weeks and everything changes lol.

zeetea · 20/11/2015 17:19

This thread is fun :)

Took my last pill last night so waiting for aunty flo to visit/leave before telling hubby (he can't wait for us to start trying!) will be waiting till around Christmas before ttc though - want to enjoy as much irish cream and mulled wine as I can before then teehee BlushWine

456hana · 20/11/2015 18:17

Congratulations Miss Clarke! So quick! I hope you are not alone in getting upduffed so quickly!

Good luck to all those coming off the pill this month!

My ovulation test sticks arrived today - I went a bit mad and also purchased 50 pregnancy tests! In my defence they were very cheap.

The ovulation tests say they are best taken at 10am, when I'm at work. I need a way to dip test without making it obvious or looking rather bizzarre. Wondering whether I could use something small and stuble to pee into rather than walking to the loos with beaker in-hand.

Runner05 · 20/11/2015 20:02

Good luck everyone conning off the pill. Don't worry, the nerves pass quite quickly.

I've been having impending AF pains all day so I may have accidentally had a bottle of wine with dinner slightly pissed did a pregnancy test yesterday and was most definitely BFN so I figured I'd drown my sorrows

purplesmiler · 20/11/2015 20:04

Nice to have you back lolly Smile

Shelb it becomes so real now for you. Since we started trying I've become even more broody and excited.

456 fifty tests wow I thought I went mad buying 10 lol.

What's everyone up to tonight? My evening consists of the tv and a nice glass of wine. May watch a film later with OH.

Morwenna1 · 20/11/2015 22:53

Wow MissClarke!!! Congrats! That's super exciting...god, and so quickly too!

Keep going Starky - it won't be long now till he caves in...Grin

I don't have enough space in my wardrobe for 50 tests!! Now you all know where I hide my tests

Question: I'm on CD 11, day 2 of my fertile window. I've read conflicting advice about how often you should DTD during said window - one source says if you do it daily then you stand a slightly better chance of conceiving, another source said it can reduce the quality of the sperm if you do it every day. What do you all think/do?!! If you don't mind me asking! Confused

Runner05 · 20/11/2015 23:16

To my knowledge the official advice is every other day for optimum quantity/quality of sperm. Can't remember why every day was a bad idea but I know there was a reason. Confused
