Jeeeeeez, I don't know what to say kat I feel for you. I'm quite laid back generally, but honestly, if my Dh told me he was naming our kids and no middle names I think I'd tell him to and suck a buffet of dicks!

shelb I've ordered 20 okp tests from amazon, they should arrive by Monday fx, and I'm at the start of my fertile week about next Friday so ill probably do one on Saturday and then every other day to see if I ovulate. And I'm going to aim to dtd every other day, but I'll get Dh prepared by dtd a good few times this week, just so he doesn't think I'm using him as a spunk monkey! Xmas Grin 🐒

I'm quite looking forward to it thh, it was a bad crash, my dsis was awake just before and said she heard the car approach and it was doing a fair old speed, but goodness knows how he managed to crash as it's a straight, wide road! He's written off at least one other car which was parked, I'm just so glad Dh was already home, any other day this week and he'd either have been heading out to work or just getting back at that time!

Haha, spunk monkey stark,** but you raise a good point, I've not been near oh trouser department since ovulation, best put some effort in this week Blush although he might be welcoming the break poor lad!

Welcome Chap most of us here are somewhere between starting in January and cycle two. We're expecting a piss stick party next weekend when about 3 of us are testing within a couple of days Grin

Good luck with testing Purplr I'll keep my fx for a new year BFP for you Smile

Kat that seems awfully unreasonable of your partner. Is it worth sitting him down and discussing how that makes you feel and asking for him to compromise. Are you planning more than one child? If so is it worth agreeing to his choice this time on the understanding that next time it's entirely up to you?

That crash sounds awful Stark must have been a bit scary for you too as it's Mars not to think what if when stuff like that happens so close to home.

Still early days for symptoms Shelb anything could happen yet Grin

I've had some sharp sensations in my left pelvic region. Went on from about 3am to the middle of this morning and felt like being poked with a fat blunt knitting needle. I've also had a couple of shooting pains in my breasts. I don't want to read anything into it really but Ovia said it could be implantation Shock
We'll see as like you Shelb I'm only 3 or 4 dpo and I don't "feel" pregnant.

shelbTa · 11/12/2015 14:24

Interesting runner that sounds really promising, I really hope it is, I know how much you want it Smile. Where does ovia say that - on the home page?

X

Runner05 · 11/12/2015 14:39

Yep Shelb when I entered today's symptoms.

I'm not getting my hopes up to much as I have no cm or other symptoms and I didn't dtd at the best times or as often as I would have liked this month. Also it would be quite early to get implantation pains as the egg on average doesn't implant for 6 days. Really I'll be shocked if I am. that's not going to stop me looking out for an implantation bleed Grin

shelbTa · 11/12/2015 14:58

Well it does sound promising runner but yeah agree at 3-4dpo we could be getting our hopes up....unless you ovulated earlier perhaps? I guess Sunday / Monday is going to be a key time for us isn't it at 6dpo?

Like you I'm trying not to go too mental but it's so hard!!!

cnchapmanxx · 11/12/2015 15:01

Hi runner oh really haha fab news! I'm due to poas on Wednesday fx for us all and a big party for xmas! Has anyone got any symptoms leading up to pg day??? I've got none so far!! Xx

KatOnATinRo0f · 11/12/2015 15:26

In the ideal world 2 children... I can name the second if we have 2 of the same gender. I've tried discussing it a few times and the answer is the same. I don't know how it will pan out in reality (yes I do. My kids will have crappy names) but am currently trying to get myself a little foetus and half don't care what it's called as long as I can make one!! (On the 2ww.... I woke up in the middle of the night with symptoms of pregnancy. And then couldn't sleep because I was excited. Then I realised I was probably actually dreaming. Then couldn't sleep because I felt stupid.)

Runner05 · 11/12/2015 15:31

Good luck for Wednesday Chap

Well I've just done some research online about implantation and ovulation.
It's pretty much impossible to implant before 6 dpo because of the time the egg takes to become a blastocyst. So that scuppers that idea. However I then did research on multiple days of positive opk's and found a interview with a Dr answering a question about it. Apparently it's quite normal to have multiple days of positive opk's but you are expected to ovulate 12 to 24 hours after the FIRST one. Interesting as I'd been counting from the last one.

What this means for me is that the first opk I ever did it was showing up positive I don't know if previous day's would have been positive or not but the only EWCM I had this month was on Friday 4th so I'm now thinking that I may have actually ovulated any time between Friday 4th and Sunday 6th when I did my first opk. That could make me anywhere between 6 and 8 dpo which would be perfect timing for implantation.

Blinking ttc. Every time you think you know what your body is doing you learn something new and realise that you know nothing John snow... Sorry, been watching too much game of thrones Confused

StarkyTheDirewolf · 11/12/2015 15:38

I'm not telling Dh when I'm fertile or when I'm ovulating, it will only freak him out Xmas Grin He's agreed to ttc, ill be dazzle him with my wily womanly ways and keep shtum on laying eggs!

Ooh fx for you guys! How nice would it be to have so many little Christmas miracles! And this time next year to be having tiny newborns in little Christmas outfits! Awwww!

Keeping fx runner!
Ovia tells me I am CD 20 and can poas in 9 days. Apart from dreaming of symptoms I have none ... Oh well at least that means Winefor [santa]!!

Runner05 · 11/12/2015 15:40

Hmm Kat forgive me but your OH sounds a little unreasonable. If my OH said that to me (he never would) I would have serious misgivings about him and would certainly be considering telling him in no uncertain terms that if he wants to name the baby with no regards to my preferences then then he can carry it for 9 months himself!
It takes two to make a baby and it's incredibly selfish for him to take the privilege of naming your baby(s) from you.

Do you have a good relationship with your mil? Could you talk to her about it? Not to say you don't like the names just to say you really want both you and your OH to name the children together and you feel like your wishes are being ignored. Hopefully she would understand and tell her son he's being an ass Hmm

shelbTa · 11/12/2015 15:49

Yes runner it's from the first opk but the I think you ovulate 12-36 hours after that, with the average being 36 I think I've read. I had real pinching around 36 hours after first opk as I walked upstairs Tuesday night, so I'm taking it from that. We DTD 24hours before the pinching, really hope it's enough!

That could really change things for you runner with what you felt last night!!!!!

X

KatOnATinRo0f · 11/12/2015 15:51

MIL doesn't speak English. It's also so common and traditional that the child would have her/DH's father's name, I don't think that for her or DH there would ever have been another option to consider. DH has a cousin with the exact same 1st and surnames - as fathers side and named after grandfather. DH's father has passed, so I can't deny him naming his son after him even if the name would sound ridiculous in England. (It has an English sounding acceptable nick name so that's okay: it's just not something I would have chosen)

Runner05 · 11/12/2015 15:58

Yeh 36 might be right Shelb I'm also thinking about the ewcm. I only had it for one day and that was the 4th. Annoyingly I have no way of knowing whether an opk would have been positive around then. Looking on line there seems to be an awful lot of women who get 4 to 6 days of clear positives so it's entirely possible it would have been.
I'm thinking that it's more than likely that I ovulated around that time but either way. I definitely could have been having implantation pains this morning.

ChinaSorrows · 11/12/2015 16:12

I'm looking at the Christmas drinks and wondering if we're pregnant... I really like mulled wine!!!
...Because as a teen and early twenties I was utterly convinced that I would get pregnant if I ever had unprotected sex and now I know that when you want to become pregnant it's likely to be a long journey.

How do I get from ovulation to testing without stopping my life every month?!!

ChinaSorrows · 11/12/2015 16:14

Also. Bloody hell I can't keep up with this thread!!! Grin

Runner05 · 11/12/2015 16:19

Just have a drink. Most people don't even know they're pregnant until they miss a period or two and continue their lives as normal with no harm done.

purplesmiler · 11/12/2015 16:25

I'm currently enjoying an afternoon tipple while wrapping presents and listening to Christmas songs. Until you know you are pregnant there isn't any harm in enjoying a drink or five lol.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 11/12/2015 17:15

Agree puroke there's no point in not enjoying the seasonal goodies until y'all know if you are preggers, I read a thingy the other day that said in super early pregnancy (blastocyst stage) having a drink won't do any harm because it's such a tiny bunch of cells. I'm cutting down smoking now, and when I get my bfp I won't have another one then. I thought about quitting but in all honesty, until im pregnant, I'm smoking!

I see what you mean about the tradition kat but I really couldn't accept that personally, I'd be having none of it! There's got to be a compromise, I'd be worried about what else would be expected of me iykwim.

Runner05 · 11/12/2015 18:05

Well, after being certain all month that I am definitely not pregnant I'm not teetering on the not sure line.

Kinda light period type cramping has continued all day as has shooting boob pain and my tummy feels unsettled. I can also feel myself getting a bit hormonal. It's waaaaay to early for it to be AF so I'm hoping these are symptoms as the only other thing it could be is a cold coming on and that's no fun Hmm

Runner05 · 11/12/2015 18:06

Second what you said about the baby name thing Stark but each to their own. I don't think I could handle being sidelined in any respect where my (as yet imaginary) child is concerned.

LanadelLol · 11/12/2015 18:33

Hi Everyone

I am new to this whole mumsnet thing and am struggling with some of your abbreviations but I think I have the gist haha.
I have been off the pill since May but not trying for a baby. Last week we agreed to give it a go and I knew I was ovulating because I have been keeping a note of my cycles so I am super excited to try a test, when do you all think it would be a good time to?
I had a bit of spotting today and am hoping I am lucky and it's an implantation bleed. Fingers crossed.

Wow, haven't been on here on a while! Thank you hana and harriet Smile

So I'm 4 weeks + 3 days, still testing everyday like a mad woman. I can reassure you all that the craziness of TTC does most definitely not disappear once you're upduffed, that's when the anxiety and the paranoia kick in. Feeling so vulnerable until I get to the 12 week mark....Excited and worried all at the same time Grin

FYI - I didn't and haven't had an implantation bleed. Apparently this only happens in around 30% of women? Runner - I now know the left hand pelvic sharp pain I felt was most likely implantation! So Fx for you Smile

Just waiting to see if I can get a doc's appointment before Christmas! Will be telling our folks (all being well) as will be v difficult to hide my not drinking over the hols! Just going to have to think up some good excuses the rest of the time Grin

Other than that, trying to eat as healthily as I can and not drive myself nuts with analysing every sensation down there!

Pinklily1 · 11/12/2015 18:39

Ladies

I'm super stressed. Yesterday's OPK was fairly dark but not as dark as the control line. I've done another one today and the line is basically non existent! So does that mean yesterday's was as dark as it's going to etc? I've attached photos, the first one should be yesterday's and the second today's. We DTD yesterday and will again tonight but I just don't understand what's going on. I assumed it would get darker today. Ovia says that fertile week starts on 12tg.
