Join us as we ttc #1 after pill/contraception etc.

We've got a boat, it makes frequent stops for wine, pissy sticks, wool, slings, cake and all manner of shit we don't need yet but we buy anyway!

It's a private scan I'll be going for but I don't know what date to do it now. I'm also desperate to tell someone so I can talk to them but DH doesn't want to tell anyone. We tell our parents on Thursday though so it's not long but I can't exactly talk to my mum about the things I can with the bf.

Talk to us bunch. It sounds like having the scan pre Christmas would help to stop some worries? ie little peanut has definitely stuck and is staying put for the long haul! Don't you think?

I definitely think so Ni but if we go on and are told "it's only showing 5 weeks and no heartbeat it's a mmc" then Christmas will be really shitty!

I feel really restless today. I want to do something pregnancy related but there's nothing I can do, can't talk to anyone can't buy anything. I keep helping my tummy to see if it's grown haha. I am a crazy woman.
We've bought another 50 tests so I'm good for the next 2 months of daily testing- though I will try and limit myself to every other day hah. I got Paris next week so I may pack for that to keep myself busy.

You don't sound selfish bunch at all in fact I'd say it's totally understandable that you want to talk to people and keep checking 'it's still there' as its all still so new and fragile. Just hang tight, try not to worry as much as you can. Could you go for a walk or something to take your mind off it?

Ni sorry it's a bfn. Maybe it's a bit early and isn't showing? How do you feel physically, any new symptoms?

I'm on CD45 no AF! I'm trying to relax and forget. Did a test Friday and it was negative. Wondering when I should go to the doctor about ridiculously long cycle. I feel like they'll just tell me to wait though.

Bunch you don't sound selfish at all. I suppose this is the weird part between getting a BFP and having the first scan, where it's all so new. Do you have to make a doctors appointment to sort the usual scan out etc?

I tried the pillow under hips malarkey last night. I've never felt so ridiculous and OH was in stitches, but if it helps then I will be doing it every time!

Pink I do. Inspire to my GP preconception and they said once I have bfp to call reception and they'll book me in with midwife. Friday was just too soon to do so, I'll be calling tomorrow and I'll be super nervous about it. DH is doing the last bits to the kitchen today so I've taken myself off for a bath to calm down and plan embroidery that I want to do.

Bunch have you downloaded Ovia pregnancy? That might give you more information about what's going on at the moment...Might answer some questions for you?!

I'm in my "window" apparently ...according to the app. I am yet to recover from looking at that cervical mucus site

I revisited the CM site this morning, stupidly whilst eating my breakfast, and it did make me gag a bit. I know its all normal bodily functions and everything, but CM is a bit gross isn't it?!

The link totally made me gag a bit too! But very useful as I've certainly looked up photos while studying my own. grim.

I've had the pregnancy app since I got my bfp. it's a nice app.

Also ladies, since I have come off the pill, I get a banging headache about 1 - 2 weeks after my period has finished. Paracetemol doesn't do anything to shift it. I know its just hormones but does anyone else get this?

pink - yes re headaches you sound exactly the same as me. They are hormonal migraines (took me years to get a diagnosis) and paracetamol won't touch them as its actually the blood vessels in your brain expanding - Google it. You need a vaso constrictor (like sumatriptan) and honestly it gets rid of them straight away. I really suffer with them. Speak to your doc.

I Googled 'phantom period' and was horrified for about 5 minutes when it told me I was menopausal! Then Googled 'period symptoms but no period' which made me feel better! Going to get Dh up in a bit he's still asleep and get him to take me to the shops to get some cheapy sticks, will do one tomorrow if period still hasn't arrived. I've been so regular for the past year or so that an absent period has confused me, still wondering if it was because I was poorly, or if my hormones are playing games. It's a mystery! Fully expect to just come on as normal next monthwhich will irritate me as I'm going to have to get a load of ovulation tests now to see if I actually ovulate this month!

bunch I think an early scan is a lovely idea but I do see what you mean about added worry, I'd be the same. Glad you've got a massive supply of pissy sticks en route though, that will ease your mind hopefully.

How are we all feeling today? Have you managed to corner your dp yet shelb ?

Bunch no I didn't pillow but I did lie for ten mins - OH is struggling a bit with my obsessiveness i think (though I've tried to reign it in) and think that would push him over the edge.

Stark - so strange. My money is on it just not showing up on the piss stick cos it's too early or you being poorly has knocked it out of sync (though fingers crossed for the first one obvs). And yeah - he's been cornered, like a lamb to the slaughter poor sod!
