imps as you probably remember mrmaybe had the sperm-from-bollocks technique. We've never had the frag test... Mrimps ' sperm clearly work, are they saying they may fertilise the eggs but not be good quality?

I'm OK thanks love. I don't really get amh, I seem to ov each month so does it affect natural fertility or just response? I thought I was on a fairly low dose in Thailand but apparently 200 puregon = 400 menopur though I've googled and can't seem to find this. Anyway looks like she'll put me on 300

mol symptom spotting at least passes the time

belle clomid is cheap as chips, like pennies. Have you been to the fertility clinic or just gp? Assume you must be ovulating or surely they'd prescribe

Where's beedle?

Imps9 · 13/11/2015 10:39

IMSI is exactly the same as ICSI - the only difference is the magnification they use when selecting the sperm. I can't remember the exact figures, but it's something like 300x magnif. for ICSI and 2000x for IMSI. They can see more abnormalities with IMSI so should be able to choose the best sperm there are.

No idea on success rates!

Imps9 · 13/11/2015 11:32

I think AMH tells you both the numbers you have left AND the quality of eggs. So can affect both the response and the ability to conceive naturellement.

Imps9 · 13/11/2015 11:34

Oh and yes - DNA fragmented sperm will fertilise eggs but produce embryos less likely to develop into babies meaning that first trimester miscarriages are likely. It's all just a numbers game really isn't it?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 13/11/2015 11:53

sorry I've been away for a few Days with work, and I've been quite busy and tired, clearly its a sign of pregnancy!

My fertility clinic are also doing a IMSI study at the moment, but I am too old. It sounded quite good as they fertilise half the eggs using ICSI and half using IMSI, so you are your own control Group, and everyone gets the treatment.

I haven't had any phone calls this week about the embryos, so I am either in the Control Group or at least one has passed the test. I Think they would have told me by now if they had alll been abnormal.

keep I can't remember what my AMH level was, but I though it was fairly similar to yours, maybe mine is considered ok as I'm a bit older.

Imps9 · 13/11/2015 12:03

Too old for IMSI? Madness! Do you know the rationale for that? Cos it doesn't involve any different treatment for the egg?

Glad your pregnancy symptoms are kicking in nicely now. A very good sign.

keepitgoing · 13/11/2015 12:15

I can't remember how old you are beedle, I think this would be considered average if I were 38 or so

Yes that does seem odd your too old for IMSI! V pleased you've not had a phone call.

Weddingbelle13 · 14/11/2015 00:35

Ive been to the fertility clinic at our local
Hospital via GP my bmi doesn't meet the criteria for prescribing in other words I was too fat for them lol

keepitgoing · 14/11/2015 13:29

Ah, I see. How much weight would you have to lose? Losing it might increase your fertility anyway

hinks any news? :) or name decisions? Barnaby?

Weddingbelle13 · 14/11/2015 18:26

Just 13lbs to loose it goes by bmi x

hinkyhonk · 14/11/2015 20:10

No news - still barrelling along. Am determined to make it to the section date which is a week on Monday. Think I'm opposite to pretty much all other preggos by willing labour not to start.

No name news. Everything I like is ruled out by other people in the family having similar names. DH keeps suggesting odd names. Think we might be in for a long wait to find a mutually agreeable name....

BeedlesPineNeedles · 16/11/2015 07:06

imps I Think its because its a scientific study to find out if IMSI is better they don't want the results affected by other stuff like old, rubbish eggs. The dr thougt that they might raise the age limit later.

keep I am rapidly approaching 40 arggghhhhhh

hink William the 2nd? :o Christopher?

QueenMolotov · 16/11/2015 08:17

Beedles your eggs are neither old nor rubbish! They are lovely and waiting to give you the best baby ever apart from mine

2ww are the worst thing ever. Am 9 DPO. There's such a minute possibility of being diffed with a sticky one, but it never stops the 2ww anticipation!

I have sore boobs Keep. I realise that I get these every month, but according to the Law of Boob, sore boobs = diffed.

Other than that, nothing, nada, zilcho, zip. Which obvs means I'm 100% diffed.

Do you normally ov on CD14 Keep?

Hinks what about Alexander?

keepitgoing · 16/11/2015 14:19

Aaah you're so diffed imps! Look forward to seeing another +ive pee stick on here

Yeah, cd13/14 or so. I think...

Imps9 · 17/11/2015 08:38

Oooh that pesky AF is circling. Due in 2 days - just in time for a weekend away with Mr Imps Xmas Angry

What news with you lovely lot this morning? Hope you've been smacking that rat Keep

keepitgoing · 17/11/2015 09:25

Where are you going impsy? AF isn't circling, it's your bfp!

Yep, we smacked it last night. No surge yet though. Have our appt to go through everything at the clinic on the 10th, then scratch soon after. But of course I'll get my bfp before then.... Can you imagine if that actually happened?? Still, gotta keep hoping and keep brooking

lolly any more sticks this morning?

jaggythistlez · 17/11/2015 09:49

Just found you ladies again thanks to the Queen inspired title. I am going to have that song in my head all day Mol. Grin

Just popped in to see how things are. Excuse my z on the end, i keep forgetting my password so am on a different email login.

Brooking baby mk2 is getting huge already.

Brooking must totally work, brooking baby mk1 (aka DS2) was conceived my first month of Brooking after almost a year of charting frenzy. DD may actually have been conceived without dtd she was so determined to arrive. I think DH may have been disappointed at the lack of rat smacking involved. Blush

I'll leave some Brooking vibes here so that the correct sticks arrive soon. Flowers

Congratulations lolly :)
