Thanks Mrsunsure, I'll have a look at that, I've also been looking at Fertilaid but its quite expensive. There's so many things around that claim to be miracle products, it's hard to know what to go for. x

I think thats a good idea not to start anything new until your body has recovered and sorted out your cycles naturally. I have also heard about being extra fertile after a miscarriage so really hoping it will happen for you again soon.

Ah it would be lovely if it happened for us all soon so we could carry on supporting each other x

iamabear · 15/11/2015 13:37

Hi, just been reading through to catch up.

Flowers mrsunsure.

I'm feeling a bit down as my ovulation had slowly been coming forward over the last few months, last cycle was a record at 20 day ovulation lol.

Started taking vitB complex and evening primrose oil this month to help with a 9 day luteal phase and now there is no sign of ovulation :-( normally I get signs at least 5 days in advance so it seems it is some way off.

I think I am going to go for my progesterone test actually on day 21, as at least then it will flag up I'm not ovulating in a way that is likely to result in pregnancy, then hopefully I can get the luteal phase sorted as part of it. Sigh.

My husband says to chill out about it all but it's so hard...

Mrsmugoo, I've been reading through, and am I right in thinking you got pregnant with a short luteal phase? Or is it only since you started taking progesterone?

sunshinegirl12 · 15/11/2015 13:59

Bear, what CD are you on now? When I started taking B50 complex it delayed my ovulation too, in the end I stopped taking it and ovualtwd a few days later. x

Iamabear - nope, I got a BFP first month on cyclogest (progesterone). I don't think I would ever have got there on a 7 day LP.

mascaraisamust · 15/11/2015 18:06

I've got more cyclogest prescribed Smile

hope you're all ok x

That's odd about b vits delaying ovulation when they're always recommended. It's a confusing world TTC.

6DPO today. I randomly snapped at DH several times today for no reason at all which I never do. One time was for flushing a tissue he'd used to blow his nose down the loo. I was aware I was doing it but so odd. As with everything in the TWW I'm like ooh could this be a symptom haha. Probs not.

How's everyone else today? You feeling better sunshine?

iamabear · 15/11/2015 21:47

sunshinegirl2015 you're right, it is so confusing. I'd read that progesterone issues after ovulation are all related to what happens before ovulation, which implies that anything you take to help must be taken before. But I've come to the realisation that no one really knows!

Mrsunsure and sunshinegirl12, interesting that the b vits didn't make any difference for you, I'm on cd 15 so will give it a few more days and then stop.

Part of me feels like if there is an issue then vitamins are probably not really addressing the cause anyway.

Mrsmugoo thanks for your answer.

Just trying to keep positive steps planned in, so I am going for my sexual health screening this week and working on getting DH to go for a SA (which could take some time lol!), as the GP said these need to be done before she can consider a referral.

Glad you ladies are here.

sunshinegirl12 · 15/11/2015 22:30

I've had a better day today, thanks for asking Sunshine, felt a bit more positive and not been as obsessed with it all. Ohh I wonder if thats a symptom, your poor DH, haha.

Bear, I need to do the same before I can be referred too, with the sexual health screening do you have to go to a special clinic or just at your usual GPs? DH is just waiting for the results from his SA, he produced the sample at home and just had to drop it in at the hospital so was absolutely fine with no embarrassment, if that can help convince your DH a little. x

iamabear · 15/11/2015 22:55

Hi sunshinegirl12, I have to go to a special clinic, the same place people go when they need emergency contraception or think they have an STI!

I gave them a call and she said if it's a 'piece of mind check' i.e. no symptoms, then it's a blood test and a swab test (from what I can gather is just like wiping after going for a wee). I was imagining some kind of smear test but it seems that's not the case for what we need.

Haha thanks yes I gave the Andrology unit a call and asked about the, ahem, logistics of sperm samples and she said that as we live within 30 mins of the hospital we can do it at home which should make it easier. She was really lovely and wished me luck... the hesitation must be common amongst guys lol.

sunshinegirl12 · 16/11/2015 13:37

Oh no, I hadnt thought it would be another blood test, I also thought it would be just like a smear too. Sad

mascaraisamust · 16/11/2015 17:10

Hi ladies, hope youre all ok. Great to hear you're all being proactive! Cheering you all on for xmas bfps! Haven't joined a grad thread yet, waiting you ladies to join me Wink

How are you feeling Mascara? Did you tell your Mum the good news? x

mascaraisamust · 16/11/2015 20:43

I'm fine, no real symptoms here apart from being bloated and being a tad sore but it's early days I guess. At least there's no spotting! Yes told my mum, she was really suprised bless her but she helped me hide it. I think a few of family knew something wasn't right though but at least they were polite enough not to ask me outright!

How are you feeling sunshine? Keep positive, it will happen for you, I know it. Get some preseed!

sunshinegirl12 · 17/11/2015 08:28

Thats good Mascara, and nice that your mum was surprised by your news. Are you going to book in for a scan?

I'm ok again now, I'm on CD 9 and starting to feel a few little pinches which I usually get before ovulation. I was a bit worried my hormones would be a bit off this month as my boobs are still feeling fuller which I only usually get before AF. Blush Got to book in for my day 21 blood and sexual health testing, but work are so strict with taking time off it just adds to the stress.

I'm going to start Fertilaid next cycle, its got vitex in so was a bit unsure as heard good and bad things, but suppose its worth a try.

How is everyone else? Mrsunsure, how are you feeling now, and Sunshine what CD you on now? x

Yes Sunshine trying to book one in just before xmas. I've booked it after I mc'd last time. Literally counting down the days to find out if this is potentially the one. DH is on his way home with a prescription from the private clinic, I thought I was getting more cyclogest like the nhs provided but he says its a gel and something else?! We will see when I get it what the heck it is.

Sunshine hoping the fertilaid work out for you. Symptoms of ovulation may be a sign of a stronger egg! Fingers crossed.

Mrs hope you are ok. x

Mrs, its understandable that you're feeling down especially as you are waiting for Thursday, but you know where we all are if you ever need a chat or anything. Chocolate hope you're taking good care of yourself.

Ahh think I can cope with the swab bit but another blood test fills me with dread, hopefully all these tests will help me man up a bit!

I've got a good feeling about this one Mascara and it'll be perfect news to share with everyone at xmas. Oh I wonder what the gel is? How long are you meant to take cyclogest for? x

mascaraisamust · 17/11/2015 19:07

Ah sunshine, I do really hope so. Not allowed myself to get over excited this time though, managed to curb the thinking of baby names/reading about how I'm progressing.

It's a gel and something else, going to google it now. I'm guessing it's a different type of progesterone. Nobody has told me how long with the cyclogest but from what ive read its up to 12 weeks.

Sunshine you can do it, eyes on the prize Wink

Mrs, as sunshine says here to support.

Hi ladies, I'm still reading this thread and rooting so much for you all. Don't get despondent you will get your BFPs!

Mascara - I'm almost 11 weeks now and I've started only doing one pessary a day now to wean down by 12 weeks. I wasn't advised to do this but thought stopping at 12 weeks might be a bit abrupt so I'm doing half dose for the next 9 days.

The doctor that scanned me said (interestingly) that the dose of progesterone you get from cyclogest pessaries is a drop in the ocean to what your body is naturally producing. I'm not sure if this referred only to after conception or not but thought it was interesting to know.

mascaraisamust · 17/11/2015 19:19

Wow Mrs, time has really flown for you! When's your scan?

I might ring gynae and get more cyclogest, I don't fancy switching the type of progesterone halfway through. I think it's more of a reassurance isn't it Mrs rather than anything else. I read from about 10 weeks that the body produced more than sufficient amounts too.
