When to expect period - Provera

EllaMenoPea · 06/10/2015 09:42

As above really. I finished 5 days of Provera on Saturday to induce a bleed to start Clomid. When should I expect a period? Just wondering if anyone has any experiences. Google is telling me lots of different times. Getting impatient Blush

Hi everyone. I've been feeling a bit bored of being Oranges so I NC to a different feminist novel name instead. Let's hope it is the lucky one!

Boggle GOOD LUCK tomorrow! Will it be a step up for you?

Moomin why do they make you wait a month between injectables, is it to let your body recover? Are you supposed to DTD unprotected between now and then? Finally, sorry if I've asked this before, but is it on the NHS? It is great news that you get six rounds.

Ella how is your DD (and how are you!) with chickenpox?

My CD21 blood test got bumped to tomorrow, I'll get the results on Monday. To be honest I'm certain that the clomid hasn't worked again - I've had a very slight increase in CM but that's it, no stabbing pains in the ovary region or any other symptoms unless you count random crying fits. I've got an appointment with the consultant on the 29th to talk about it all.

EllaMenoPea · 11/03/2016 09:03

Hi robber!

I think crying fits definitely count!

Good luck with your blood test today, fingers crossed for you for positive results. Have you already been DTD?

Good luck today boggle!

Also...in regards of CM....Clomid doesn't really give me much which is so annoying! Has anyone used pre-seed? (Think that's what it's called?)

DD is fine thank you Smile

Nice name change Robber

It won't be a step up, more of a side/slight step down. I can't deal with the stress in my current job and need something with less hours and that I can leave at work and not worry about at home. My only main concern is that they won't be able to meet what I need as a salary. I can take a reduction but not LOADS.

RobberBride · 11/03/2016 22:13

Boggle how did it go? I logged on purely to find out how you got on. I did the same thing as you a year ago - took a less stressful job for a paycut. I don't regret it, although my new job isn't perfect or easy, and sometimes I wish I could've taken a bigger paycut for a job I could do with my eyes shut! But then I'd get bored. Hopefully being less stressed will help you to get pregnant. That's partly why I did it.

And thanks, I love Margaret Atwood. Apart from her latest...

Hi Ella, I'm glad your daughter is ok. Where are you up to now - did you take the provera, are you now waiting for AF? To answer your question, we do use pre-seed, it works well.

AFM, blood test done, though there's a backlog so results on Tuesday. We have been DTD since CD8 as I'm scared of missing ov. We'll keep going til about CD30 then throw the towel in.

EllaMenoPea · 12/03/2016 07:31

No not taken Provera yet, I got the date slightly wrong....its 40 days after the last one which was 5th... It's annoying as I know I'm not pg but I'm also starting a new job so I think I'm going to wait a couple of weeks!

Good luck for Tuesday!!

Congrats on the new job! I must have missed that amongst the chat about Boggle.

EllaMenoPea · 12/03/2016 10:16

I didn't mention it! Thank you Smile

Hope everyone is OK?

Congrats Ella Smile Have some Wineand Cake to celebrate!

I have to wait a month each time to reduce risk of cysts Robber, although saying that I had one appear on the first round and it hasn't disappeared yet. The six rounds of injectable ovulation induction are in lieu of one of my NHS IVF cycles (so I am only entitled to two of them now). I should have had six rounds of Clomid first, but 50mg gave me blurred vision and flashing lights, so we had to abandon that. Yes I guess we should be DTD this month just in case, but always too tired from work! I don't like the term but I'm on the workaholic end of the scale - I love my job and take my responsibilities very seriously. It keeps me focused and sane.

What a lovely sunny day Smile Been pottering around the house doing jobs, cleaning and baking - perfect! I'm easily pleased right?! Off shopping this afternoon and to a friend's house this evening for food and laughs. Being barren is truly shitty, but there is always someone worse off so I'm trying to be grateful for everything I've got.

Right, it must be lunchtime - I'm starving!

Moomin37 · 12/03/2016 12:48

Sorry derr just checked and its Boggle with the new job right? Sorry Blush

EllaMenoPea · 12/03/2016 16:08

boggle had an interview yesterday and I got a new job a couple of weeks ago but haven't started yet so you were right! Thank you Thanks

How did it it boggle, hope you're ok.

Your weekend sounds lovely moomin! It's so sunny where I am!

YouBoggleMyMind · 14/03/2016 10:10

Hi Ladies, you're very sweet to ask after me. I don't really have access to this over the weekend.
Interview went well. Was told I came across well but I suspect salary may be an issue. It was advertised at a much lower salary that I couldn't entertain. However I left it that I could be flexible as the hours are appealing. They know my salary so just have to see what they come back with. It'll be either today or tomorrow.

YouBoggleMyMind · 15/03/2016 09:19

Update: I'm going back again this even after work as they want to show me some bits and pieces of the job. I'm the only one they have bought back so I suspect they may offer me. Hopefully the money is right! Fingers crossed! It will mean waiting until April to start next round of Clomid so I can still qualify for SMP if i do get pregnant.

eskimoflo · 15/03/2016 19:23

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Boggle!

Waves to everyone else Smile

EllaMenoPea · 15/03/2016 19:37

Well done boggle! Good luck!

Hi eskimo it's always lovely to see your name pop up! Hope everything is going well? X

Hi Ella Thank you so much. Had a bit of a tottering time of it recently; my dog got a cancerous lump, which they've managed to cut out completely and thankfully hasn't spread. Also, a colleague got chicken pox and my parents couldn't remember if I'd had it, so I had to have an immunity test and wait for a few days for the results (thankfully I am immune!)

Yesterday, I went to the dentist and I have a gum infection, which in itself is worrying as if it goes too far, it could transfer over the placenta to the baby, but also they didn't want to give me antibiotics, so they put in a chemical chip between my tooth and my gum, which releases chemicals over 10 days that are antiseptic. They assured me it was safe, but of course I went home and Googled afterwards and it's not been proven either way as no clinical trials have been done, so of course I'm now having nightmares about 'chip' poisoning! I keep feeling my jaw bone and I'm sure I have a lump in there now... Sad Thing is, I have some antibiotics from the summer for when I had a crown put in and never used them and I'm starting to think that I should just start taking those. The dentist said I was 'borderline' antibiotics anyway, and apparently they are safe during pregnancy, but I think the main reason they are reluctant to give me them is because of resistance, nothing to do with being pregnant. It's so tempting to take them! My gum is so very sore now.

Sorry for off-loading, I can't do it anywhere else! Hope you're ok x x x

RobberBride · 15/03/2016 21:35

Boggle how did it go this evening? Hopefully they offered you a million pounds as salary and you're currently quaffing champagne in a posh bar rather than reading MN!

Ella when do you start your job?

Eskimo hello, we've not met before, though I've seen you on a few threads. Please do rant away to us. Can you go to GP to ask about antibiotics? I've found dentists to be a bit hit and miss on such things.

AFM, my CD22 test showed a progesterone level of 1 which is a big fat no ovulation :( I know I was expecting it, but I really did hope that 150mg clomid would be my dose. After shedding quite a few tears tonight, I'm recrossing my fingers that I'll miraculously ovulate before CD29 test on Friday.

EllaMenoPea · 15/03/2016 21:45

Oh god eskimo you poor thing. Can you get back down the doctors tomorrow? Or call your midwife? I'm sure everything will be absolutely fine but you need the reassurance and to feel comfortable with what medication you have been given. Hope you feel better soon. ThanksThanks

Shit robber, I'm so sorry. Best of luck for Friday, I have everything crossed for you. Even when I fell pregnant I still didn't ovulate on day 14 or 15 so it wouldn't have shown on that test.

Start next week, thanks for asking Smile

Hi Robber Glad you've found your way here; this thread has been a lifeline to me in the past! I will definitely call the GP if the lump thing hasn't gone in a few days!

So sorry about your blood test result. I know that feeling very well. However, just because it didn't work this time, doesn't mean to say it won't work full stop. Do you have more to take? It's good that you have another test. The cycle I got my BFP, my CD21 tests were 14, and the said that I hadn't ovulated. I must have just ovulated a couple of days or even the day before it and they just hadn't reached 30 at the time of the test.

Also, I found that, for some reason, sometimes 150mg worked for me and sometimes it didn't. I took that dose 4 times. First time, my progesterone was 33 and I had my first and only real AF since coming off BC 12 months earlier. Second and third time, my results were 1 and 0, so it didn't work at all. Third time, was the time I got my BFP. Don't give up hope! x x

eskimoflo · 15/03/2016 21:51

Sorry Ella X posts! I think I may well seek out some help in the next couple of days if I'm still 'lumpy'! Wishing you the best of luck for next week Smile x x

Hi you wonderful ladies! Just to let you know that I got the job and resigned this morning!! :D:D

YouBoggleMyMind · 16/03/2016 10:18

YouBoggleMyMind · 16/03/2016 17:29

Thank you! Huge weight has been lifted. I might have to put my Clomid cycle on hold but at least I know I am getting out of a very stressful environment which i'm sure is a contributing factor.

YouBoggleMyMind · 16/03/2016 17:33

Ella are you in the same situation as me that you need to wait a certain amount of time before starting the next cycle due to qualifying for SMP?
