That seems really strange from a doctors surgery Pirsy! You're definitely doing the right thing going to the GP though, it's good to get in the system

Just going back to the clomid thing my gp said they don't do anything like that in my area - for some reason here if you have anything out of the ordinary they always try to fob you off to private treatment and because I have 1 ds anyway she said they wouldn't even do the most basic of things for me on nhs here! I agree with what you've all said though about going to see another gp.
Temping going well - dh was a bit at first but I think he's secretly quite intrigued! I hope it shows ovulation - that would be very exciting in my geeky brain!

Morning all, not posted in afew days as I've been feeling abit Ill thought AF was on its way but still no sign and cd38 really want it to come soon.. Tested afew times and BFN, so over this cycle now and want to start my next!!

Thanks prty it's so hard though isn't it? I've tried talking to DH and he tries to understand bless him but I don't think he realises how frustrating it is.

Morning all. I finally got a solid smiley face this morning after 6 days of flashing smiles. But think dp has completely got anxiety as we didn't dtd last night after a failed attempt on Wednesday so last time was Monday night. I think he is trying though as he invited me to a date night tonight. I don't even know if it's too late dtd tonight really but trying to focus to making sure he is OK rather than going on about ttc thereby putting pressure on him! Hope you all have good weekends ahead and neetie you get some smileys and poppy you get af so you can move on to next cycle!

beanz you should OV 12-36 hours after you get your solid smiley face.

I got mine this morning too - first one in six months woop!

Anyway after some ferocious googling it says you should continue DTD for 48 hours after your solid smiley to maximise chances of PG

Doc was very helpful but we do need to be trying a year before they can help. She showed me what tests they do, bloods, swabs etc so that will be about April time providing we have not been successful before then :)

My GP just called me with a good news/bad news message. My bloods showed I ovulated (progesterone 51) but they also show its very likely that I have PCOS. I'm trying really hard not to cry right now

Shary I know that's not what you wanted to hear but PCOS is NOT the end of the world.

Have they given any indication about treatment or management?

(I have two friends with PCOS who both managed to have kids)

Oh really sorry Shary it's not what you would want to hear. I too have two friends who have PCOS and have both had babies. At least you know and can now think about treatment.

You are ovulating shary stay focuses on that, lovely :) I know so many people who have conceived with PCOS and lots naturally too. There's so much they can do to help with meds etc. I know it's hard but this is a positive step, might be hard to see now but it's another leap forward in the journey (hugs)

Thanks ladies, I guess I should wait until I'm actually diagnosed before fretting. It was a bit of a shock though as I wasn't expecting another call from the GP and his words were PCOS is "very likely" OH's going to come with me to the gyne appointment. I've sacked off a proper tea in favour of pizza on the sofa!

shary - try not to take it too hard lovely. Pcos is absolutely not the end of the world and take the positive that there is so much they can do with meds etc. Enjoy your pizza tonight

Thanks ladies, like you say I need to keep focusing on the fact that I am ovulating. Both blood tests have shown that now (although at the same point last cycle my progesterone was 33 and this time it's 51 ). I do think this is going to be the most upsetting AF so far when it arrives though! My boobs are really sore!!

Soooo I've just realised my best POAS day will be Friday the 13th....

... Maybe I'll give it a miss this month

Would be so nice this month as 12 weeks (so telling everyone) would be at christmas.

AF has arrived today for me! Not sure if this means I ovulated earlier than I thought or if my LP was 12 days instead of 14. If I temped Id know! Anyway going to the doctors tomorrow.

Shary I have PCOS. I was really upset at first but I am having periods once a month now so really dont think that is the reason Im not pregnant yet. I think you're right to focus on the fact that you ARE ovulating and I think this maybe predicts a better response to clomid compared to women who dont ovulate on their own at all.

Also Shary with your mega sore boobs are you sure its AF on the way? Is that normal for you before AF?

Morning all. Feeling a bit frustrated as am (according to Ovia app, Glow says different) now in my fertile window. We DTD yesterday and I have EWCM today but have just found out OH is on night shifts starting today. Was hoping we could squeeze in a morning session but haven't (think he is feeling the pressure) and I'm now off to a lunch so he will be gone when I get back. Kind of resigned to now missing this month! TTC is bad enough as it is, even worse when you and your partner work totally different shifts!

I hope everyone else is OK today? Who is next to POAS? FX for lots of BFPs in time for Christmas, agree that would be the best!!
