Hi (big wave)
So you clicked on here cos you were looking for me (I'm flattered!) or the title seemed interesting!
I'm aware it doesn't really explain anything but we are bunch of lovely ladies all TTC and going ever so slightly crazy with it! For more info see our original thread here -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2412386-TTC-anxious-over-early-pregnancy-possible-symptoms?msgid=56357000#56357000

And our most recent thread here -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2458534-Prtys-Gang-and-The-Festival-of-Foof-Fun-when-they-not-being-cray-cray?pg=1&order=

We are symptoms spotters extraordinaire - you name it we've had it, real and/or imagined confused
We are here to help, we are all supportive, we laugh, rant, cry, joke, rage, smile, and comfort together. Be you a lurker or poster (established or new) then you are very welcome here. We only have a few rules:

  1. No judgement - we all lead different lives and have different standards and that is fine. You wanna get wasted everyday of TWW, that's fine. You wanna abstain completely, that's fine. We need support, not judgement.
  2. No feeling stupid - we've all had those months where we definitely think we are pg 110% convinced and then AF turns up, don't feel bad about it, it happens. Also we all have different levels of knowledge so no question is stupid apart from the one you don't ask.
  3. On this thread there is no such thing as TMI - we are all adults and we all know how miraculous and amazing... and downright disgusting our bodies can be, it's fine. Share what you want, we will not be fazed.

So that's it, jump in and FX'd for all my lovelies xx

funny - yes join the temping club! I never thought I would but have started this month doing it and I think I will like it. From what I can gather your temp dips at ovulation then you need 3 days of higher temps than that to confirm ovulation took place- although I do need to read up on it all a bit more Halloween Smile

SharyBobbins · 28/10/2015 21:52

Pirsy the GP wanted my bloods again as I was 6dpo yesterday so it was perfect timing. He wrote the lady who does bloods a note saying "please please" fit me in as I obviously didn't have an appointment for bloods to be taken. She was lovely and squeezed me in between patients who had actually booked! The GP said he's going to discuss me with a gynae colleague as he's not sure whether to refer me for more tests or whether I should wait it out a little longer (been ttc 10 months, around 6 cycles). He was concerned that my cycles have got longer!

MrsFlowers82 · 28/10/2015 22:11

Hi ladies. Well in my continued state of despair at this week's news, I have only gone and done it... I've bought a basal body thermometer. It was either that or drown myself in chocolate puddings. Arrives next week. Bring on the temping and even more crazy body analysis!! Grin ShockConfusedBlush

funnybeanz · 29/10/2015 08:19

Hi ladies, so also in a state of despair so I've also bought a thermometer. Looking forward to getting geeky with the charts etc although not sure how it all works yet. Do people use an app to monitor the temp?
I'm on day 7 of flashing smileys, not been that impressed with the clear blue opk, it hasn't narrowed down a fertile period and according to that I haven't ovulate, today is cd14. Also last night tried to dtd and dp got stage fright I think and just couldn't do it (never happened before). He did have a very stressful day but think he is feeling the pressure of dtd :-( so a fairly miserable time, given up for this month.
Mrsflowers - we can learn about temping together!
Shary - your gp sounds good making sure you were fitted in for tests. Fx for you.

Pirsy1 · 29/10/2015 08:51

Shary your GP sounds great and good that he is going to take advice from a colleague about the next step. He sounds very proactive!

Funny my poor DH had a similar thing a few months ago, only he couldn't 'finish'. I was a bit worried I had psychologically crippled him with DTD but the next time he was fine. I felt terrible about it though and I'm sure he did too.

I think I may need to buy a thermometer too in a state of despair. Stupidly decided to test today at only 9 dpo and obviously it was totally negative. I know it's early but there wasn't even a hint of a line. I don't know why I did it. I have started to feel like TTC is so boring and wearing now. I wish I could switch back to a time when I had no idea / didn't care about fertile windows etc, when we used to DTD because we wanted to and not because we have to because it's the right time even though neither of us really want to!

Hope everyone has a good day.

MrsFlowers82 · 29/10/2015 09:58

Morning all!

Looking forward to the newbie temping club! There seems to be a few of us now so sure we can all help each other out.

Funny I plan to use my Ovia app to chart the temps. I use Ovia and Glow and tend to prefer Ovia. Really hoping temping will ease my mind and make things clearer. I worry I am not ovulating (never really get any EWCM and obviously not conceived yet) but also this month both apps have given me a COMPLETELY different fertile window - according to Glow it has passed and according to Ovia its this weekend! FFS!

I also have had my OH fail to finish. To be honest I think he was bored of DTD that week and totally exhausted. Sounds odd but some times it can seem that it is all on us, its almost nice to know they feel the pressure and worry too! Couldn't possibly be that I had completely ground him down and been more of a drill sergeant than a lover that week

SharyBobbins · 29/10/2015 10:37

ShockShockShockShockShock Not had the second set of bloods back yet but my GP has just called me. He said he's had a chat with his collegue and wants to refer me to a gynecologist straight away to get me prescribed with something to regulate my ovulation- he said probably clomid. I'm really shocked & really scared!

MrsKittenPie · 29/10/2015 10:54

Yey for the new temping club! I'm on day 3 of doing it - seems okay so far! I input my temps into fertility friend app and it draws a fancy graph! My despair drove me to it too - need to know what's going on.
shary - I think being put on clomid is good - I've heard it makes you ovulate regularly so your chances of a bfp are really improved - don't be scared lovely. I practically begged my gp for some and she refused (as she's totally useless).

MrsKittenPie · 29/10/2015 10:55

pirsy - you're definitely not out yet - there could still be a bfp waiting for you

SharyBobbins · 29/10/2015 11:24

Kitten she refused? On what grounds? Angry

Pirsy1 · 29/10/2015 12:33

Shary dont be scared! I think that is brilliant news! Get things moving forward and get you a BFP! In the meantime you might well get one anyway but at least you'll have some help waiting too!

Kitten I think you need to demand referral to gynae. Maybe try and see what the NICE guidelines say?

I telephoned my GP this morning. They dont do appointments so Im going to try to see someone at the walk in clinic they do on Monday afternoon.

SharyBobbins · 29/10/2015 14:52

Thanks Pirsy. My first 'appointment' with the GP who is referring me was a phone consultation, does your practice do those? It seems really bizarre that they don't do appointments unless I've misunderstood!

MummyBex1985 · 29/10/2015 15:15

Shary I think getting Clomid is a really positive thing, I've seen so many success stories with it - usually less than three months after starting it too.

Althoigh I've heard your chances of a multiple birth are massively increased

SharyBobbins · 29/10/2015 16:07

Thanks ladies you're all so lovely xxx
I guess there's a chance that the gynecologist might not give me clomid, it could be just what the GP is hoping they will do Halloween Hmm Either way it's hopefully a step in the right direction.

Glad to see the temping club is expanding!

Has anyone seen Prty? Feels like she hasn't posted in ages?

neetie1 · 29/10/2015 16:15

Hi all been in Plymouth at in laws for a few days so not been about much. Well according to OPK ov is meant to have been yesterday or tomorrow but not even a sniff of a flashy or soild smiley sooo am thinking maybe I just ovulated mega early. Luckily I tested early and we were active over those days so could well be in tww.
Interesting trying to avoid alcohol whilst away , they do not know we are trying. Did have a glass of champagne but when I tried to have a glass of Smirnoff Ice the day before it tasted so strong I couldn't drink it all..very odd. Seeing doc in morning for a few things but will mention about it being 7 months and nothing see what she says.

PrtyPsn · 29/10/2015 17:11

Sorry, still here, just lurking daily, waiting for AF to piss off, eating my body weight in chocolate, crawling the walls for a glass of wine - it's been 7 months since I drank, what's wrong with me?!
I agree the clomid is def a positive step shary it can't harm so I say go with it!
All though with OH failing to start or finish - happens to the best of 'em! Think DTD on demand affects our fellas more than we wanna admit some times!
Any advice on when to start OPK? CD5 today and almost AF free :)

SharyBobbins · 29/10/2015 18:35

How long are your cycles generally Prty? I have a leaflet somewhere which says when to start using OPKs based on cycle length Smile

neetie1 · 29/10/2015 18:35

I tested on day 9 of cycle which was only two days past af and got a solid smiley.

neetie1 · 29/10/2015 18:36

I tried that though shary and kept missing the best times ....

PrtyPsn · 29/10/2015 18:42

shary around 31-32 days generally, AF being 4/5 days long, think I started testing CD10 last time but no idea why!!

OP posts:
neetie1 · 29/10/2015 18:44

They do recommend you test from CD10 but I usually start a day or two after af

SharyBobbins · 29/10/2015 19:03

The leaflet says to test from CD14. What CD are you on now? If you're using cheapies may be start a little earlier to be on the safe side Smile

SharyBobbins · 29/10/2015 19:03

I don't mind using lots of them when they cost a couple of pence each! Halloween Wink

PrtyPsn · 29/10/2015 19:09

CD5 now, app reckons I O around CD18 so CD14 sounds right to me if CD10 is the usual (based on a 28 day cycle I assume) I do normally have fertile CM when app indicates O... maybe I'll start around CD12, they are ICs so don't mind using more than required

OP posts:
Pirsy1 · 29/10/2015 19:38

Shary - yes it is a bit weird no appointments, I only registered there recently. When I rung up I said I wanted an appointment and I didn't mind if it was a few weeks away and they literally don't do them. I am def going to go on Monday - it will be the day before AF and I will be miserable with it! If I wait till later than that I'll be like 'Oh maybe this month I'll be pregnant' and just put it off again for another month.

Prty yes start testing early, because then you can see the line change and compare it etc. I usually start on day 7 - my cycle is 28 - 32 days.
