How did you meet your dh lulu?

LuluJakey1 · 23/12/2015 19:25

Well, don't tell anyone about the testicle Grin It was our first holiday together {We met when I was with someone from work and we bumped into him and she vaguely knew him from university years ago and after we had a coffee we swopped emails because he was interssted in something I was doing at work. (Really!) } Anyway, after about 3 months together- so all a bit new- we went to Greece for a fortnight. We just booked a flight and got a ferry to a quiet island, thinking we would find somewhere to stay no problem. Except it was the celebration if the island's saint and we could not find anywhere.
We got a bus to the other end of the island and an old lady on the bus told us her son rented out a villa on the beach. Villa was a posh word for what it was but it was very quiet, not a resort at all, hot, had a bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchen and verandah. We had been there a couple of days when DH announces he has been bitten somewhere nasty and he thinks it is swelling up. His testicle became huge overnight and really painful and he absolutely refused point blank to go to a Dr. There was no hospital. So we were putting ice packs on it and antispetic cream but it made no difference. He could not bear clothes on it so was wandering round naked from the waist down and sort of hoiking it up because it was so heavy and sore. He was quite panic stricken really.
He insisted I had to go to the chemist. Eventually I went. I spoke no Greek at all and between me imitating an insect, pointing down to where his testicle would be and doing drawings the chemist finally got it. The other customers were amused and I was Blush He gave me tablets- no idea what they were but DH would have taken anything- and ointment . It took about 5 days to go down. I had to put the ointment on it 4 times a day. Yuck! We could not go out because he couldn't bear clothes on it.
We didn't know each other that well before we went but we knew each other very well by the time we came back. The place was tiny and we were intimately acquainted- or I was with every inch of him. Being DH, he wanted me to keep inspecting it and giving him details of the bite. 'Just see if it looks any better Lu. See if it's gone down at all. Is there any pus? Baby spiders aren't hatching in it are they?'
It also found its way into some photos at its worst and as it gradually got better - which I hold in a safe place as ongoing blackmail. I called him Buster Gonad for years- a character from a comic who had 'an unfeasibly large testicle'. Grin

zombiemeow · 23/12/2015 20:28

Hahaha omg lulu!!! That actually made me laugh out loud!! I would say your poor dh.... But poor you in that chemist!

OP posts:
LuluJakey1 · 23/12/2015 20:40

He always says he knew by then that we were going to get married and the episode of the unfeasibly large testicle confirmed it because it didn't put me off him and we managed a week holed up in that tiny villa together and we never fell out. Infact we had quite a good time. Smile

LuluJakey1 · 23/12/2015 20:41

Sometimes now I just wink and say 'Buster' and we both laugh.

Cupcake92 · 23/12/2015 22:08

Yeah I feel better after my apt as I feel I'm actually getting help :)

No Lulu uve not told us about DH being bitten on the testicles by an insect! Grin do tell! Grin

I had a psychic reading done today :)
So emotional. She told me the first baby I lost was a boy. She said he's always with me by my side and is currently my angel who's protecting me. She said that DS1 will notice him sometimes, and now I know I'll be able to tell when he does see him.
Can't believe I had another little boy.
She said next year I'm gonna be a different person and I'll have gained my confidence back and have lost weight. But apparently I have to be careful as she says I'll fall pregnant about May/June time!!! Shock whaaaaatttt!!!

Cupcake92 · 23/12/2015 22:14

Didn't realise there was another page Grin I'm getting terrible at this stuff lol!

Ah that's good ducky :) hopefully ds2's will get go down eventually then.

Lulu that was so funny!!! Grin ur poor DH! Grin ah dear!

LuluJakey1 · 23/12/2015 22:35

DS is awake and downstairs, sitting on DH's knee with a sippy cup of milk. Not looking particularly sleepy I might say. Hmm He keeps waving his arm as if he is waving his wand. Smile

LuluJakey1 · 23/12/2015 23:05

We have brought him up to bed and are waiting to see if he settles. He is in his cot, lights off, door closed. We are in bed and can hear him on the baby monitor- he isn't asleep but isn't making a fuss- little chattering noises and grunbles and a few yawns. Please let him go to sleep.

LuluJakey1 · 23/12/2015 23:31

Nope. Is now in our bed after 20minutes of wailing and us going in and sushing him. Has cuddled in between me and DH. We are going to wait until he dozes off and try taking him back. In the dark. DH is cuddling him and I am on my ipad to keep me awake. I am scared we fall asleep and squash him.

LuluJakey1 · 24/12/2015 00:19

Is in his own bed now, asleep.

zombiemeow · 24/12/2015 06:44

Wow late night lulu! Have you ditched bottles all together now?

Cupcake, glad your feeling a bit better. I hope h put his work colleagues straight. Do you go to the same psychic each time?

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 24/12/2015 07:53

Oh gosh Lulu ! I'm glad ur DS went to sleep finally! Bet u were dying to go to sleep urself.

Ducky he's said he has. I'm popping in the shop this morning as dropping DS at nursery then I need more baby milk for DS2 so we shall see if he's told them.
And yes I always go to the same one :) she's amazing. And always been right. I usually go and see her at her home but I had a reading over the phone last night.
I'm not quite sure how I'm going to get pregnant again tho GrinGrin can't imagine that atn!

DS2 is amazing! He slept 10:30pm till 7am!! :)
Ds1 on the other hand woke up at 2am Hmm I most definitely have a good and a bad sleeper Grin

LuluJakey1 · 24/12/2015 08:44

He has been up since half 5 Cupcake. I don't know why he isn't tired. I brought him downstairs and we sat in the dark with his milk. It's very windy here and I don't know if the sound of the wind is anything to do with it. Anyway, we have had a bath and our breakfast and are both dressed and he is toddling round with his Oleg grub chatting to himself.

I once went to a Psychic who told me that within 2 years, I would marry a man with two step-daughters and live in Canada and I would not have children of my own. Hmm That was about 7 years ago.

Your DS2 is a good sleeper Smile

How will you know when you go in the shop? I am really puzzled as to what he could say to them that didn't make him look like an absolute idiot. Will the girlfriend be there?

Ducky, no not altogether. We are trying to get him onto the sippy cup. Sometimes he will have it but he likes his bittle.

zombiemeow · 24/12/2015 17:57

Cupcake, hope he sorted it! And ShockShockShock well done ds2!!! Did your psychic have anything else to say?

Have you had a nice day lulu? Hope you got a kip!

Today has been.... Difficult Hmm, ds has so many teeth coming through all at once so has been grumpy, he's had a big reaction to his 1 year injections aswell. He's just got back from meeting Santa Claus and is crazy over tired, thinking we won't have a good night tonight.

OP posts:
LuluJakey1 · 24/12/2015 20:13

We have been out for a long walk. DS has gone to bed and DH and I have had a lovely meal and just a nice time and a giggle together. He bought all of these beers today from around the world and we have tried a few. A Japanese one, a Turkish one, an Indian one. We are feeling very cheerful and cuddly Smile

Hope everyone has a quiet night and gets lots of undisturbed sleep.

LuluJakey1 · 25/12/2015 09:17

Just to say hope everyone has a happy Christmas.

DS is just about to start opening his presents.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

zombiemeow · 25/12/2015 12:41

Happy Christmas everyone GrinWine

Ds had an awful night sleep, I probably got about 3 hours but he loves his toys

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 25/12/2015 20:23

Merry Christmas everyone :)

I'm exhausted and very ready for my bed! But watching the soaps 1st! :)

Hope uve all had a nice day!

Cupcake92 · 26/12/2015 16:57

It's official I 100% need to move!
I've no room for the boys things after Xmas now Grin I think I need a toy room Grin

zombiemeow · 26/12/2015 18:15

Haha, think I do too cupcake! Did they have a nice Christmas? Is ds1 understanding it all this year?

Went to the in laws today, wasn't too bad, nobody really spoke to me, but I prefer it that way. I was treated more like a free baby sitter for everyone's dc while the others had a chat and were allowed to eat their dinner, I only had a tiny bit of mine as no one else was watching the dc. H's nan did mutter something at me under her breath twice but I didn't hear what she said.

She did moan as ds dropped a carrot on the floor, it was there for a second before one of the dogs came to clear it up. After he had finished I let him play with his plate so there were a lot of left overs on the floor Grin she also complained as I let ds have 3 dairy free chocolate buttons as he's not old enough, I told her 'luckily I'm his parent and I get to make them decisions for him' which I was quite proud of myself for. Then to make it even better ds dribbled a big bit of chocolate drool all over her carpet.

OP posts:
Cupcake92 · 26/12/2015 18:28

Hahaa go ducky! And ur DS! Grin I love the chocolate dribble on the carpet!

They did enjoy Xmas ducky. DS1 understands a lot more this year! But he got upset when there was no more presents to unwrap Grin
I took them to exH's dads house in the morning. I stayed tho as I don't rele feel safe leaving them. Especially DS2 being so young. We were there for 2 hours and then left as they were about to eat. We then went to my moms and DS1 was just over excited Grin he was a right pain haha!

But the amount of toys etc everyone brought them including what I got them, there's no where to put them. I'm having to take the tree down tomorrow and place all the toys where the tree is. Grin

Starting to look for a new house after New Year's Day :)

How was ur Xmas ducky? Did DS like unwrapping presents?

LuluJakey1 · 26/12/2015 19:24

Well DS was not very interested in his presents. We only opened a few here and decided to keep the rest for his birthday. He played with the shapes and holes thing most and the wrapping. At SIL he was too excited just being with everyone. SIL has painted him a lovely cartoon monster and framed it. He got very over- excited and DH took hm out for a walk before the rain really set in- he had a sleep in his buggy.

Today we had everyone here this afternoon and he played more then. They have gone and he is is bed now, worn out. Dishwasher is on, kitchen is clean and tidy.

Peace and quiet. Smile Apart from pelting rain and high winds.

Cupcake92 · 27/12/2015 10:28

Aww he'll be more interested next year Lulu :)
Hope u have a calm day today !

DS1 has chicken pox!!!!!! Broke out this morning :( he's got loads. N I'm so worried about DS2 as he's not had his jabs yet n he's so small! What if he gets them?

LuluJakey1 · 27/12/2015 11:20

Why don't you ring NHS line and just check Cupcake. I think it is newborns up to 4 weeks that they worry about but best to check. Poor DS2.

It is lovely here today, sunny, blue skies and dry. We are going for a long walk up at the country park to get some fresh air and exercise. MIL and SIL and BIL coming with us. FIL staying with grandma.
