Just wondering if there are any other lurkers in the same boat as me, planning to TTC in December/January?

I came off the pill three months ago and have only had one pathetic AF in that time, so very glad I came off early but also pretty anxious at how messed up things are, 1st cycle was 39 days, this one is 40 and courting.

So who's with me? I can't be the only person on here who is actually hoping for AF!

Ps iv a doctors appointment Friday morning will I just do a pregnancy test there and see or are they useless?

shankate I'd recommend you do a First Response Early Result test, they are more sensitive than a Dr's test (12.5 miu detection level instead of the Dr's test which is 25 miu)

Also beware of the Internet cheapie tests, frer brought my line up in under 10 seconds but the Internet cheapies still barely show it!

For reference... FRER next to Internet cheapie...

FRER line came up within 10 seconds, that photo is at 10 minutes and as you can see, IC barely has a line...

Just thought it was worth pointing out they aren't half as sensitive as they make out online...

Wow choc, that's a massive difference!! They say the frer are about 6.5iu and the cheapies 10 but I dont think they really can be! Lots of people get results on the 50s before the ICs. I have a stash of ICs (because they are cheap and I'm addicted to peeing on sticks) but I think if you get a shadow on an IC it's time to pee on a proper test. X

Did you do those both at the same time choc? It's a huge difference. I think I'm going to get some FRER for tomorrow and do both at the same time.

Wow chocoholic that's some difference I done on of those like 2 weeks ago and it was negative im getting worried now I may get the FRER test kit soon just in case due AF today and no sign of it ? Hope it stays away

Very late to this thread's party but hoping you don't mind me crashing in! It's been really encouraging reading everyone's stories, definitely helps when you feel like your body is actively out to get you to know that you're not alone, and so lovely to read about the crop of bfps that have popped up too!

So this is me: came off Cileste in the middle of August and had a normal withdrawal bleed, then nothing for 97 days. Started ttc after Christmas but am currently on day 64 of cycle and no sign of AF appearing. Using Ovia who appears thoroughly confused and keeps flailing from 'you're obv upduffed' to 'I don't even think you've ovulated' so am starting opks as soon as they arrive from Amazon.

I've had a few waves of nausea today but they come and go really quickly so not sure that's the right kind of nausea if there can ever be a right kind of feeling sick also crazy loads of cm (sorry if you're eating dinner Wink

Welcome plane, it's a friendly bunch we have in here! Hope your cycles settle soon. The waiting game for AF can almost be as difficult and frustrating as the tww! Ooh I'm so excited about the upcoming tests! Be sure to come straight on here and let us know the outcome. Had a wee giggle at the running into boots comment! I ordered my FRER from Amazon as I just know (knowing my luck) I'd bump into someone from work or a family friend as I wait in the queue! Keeping everything crossed for you new girl, Bobo and Shan! Have you felt any twinges or anything yet sunny?

My OPK looked ever so slightly darker than previous days. Frightened to use my CB ones now as I've wasted so many on a negative result! Might have another go tomorrow morning xx

update - still no LH surge but the opk appeared to be a little bit darker today and I def. had ewcm last night. i will keep testing and show you a photo of my millions of opks lined up soon!

Where are you at in cycle cookie? Fingers crossed for your surge soon too.

No no signs of anything. Few pelvic twinges but I always get those after OV anyway. I don't really get any signs of AF since coming off pill.. It just arrives all of a sudden with mahusive pain. So just hoping it doesn't arrive really. Will keep an eye out for anything different though Xx

Hope you get your surge soon First maybe the OPKs aren't picking it up if you have EWCM it sounds like you are ovulating?

I'm on CD 22 not positive OPK or EWCM it was CD 26 last cycle so hopefully will be this cycle too xx

Yeah could be Shan. Mine varies from one month to the next, sometimes it's can be pretty painful, like really sharp pains in one side at a time deep into my lower pelvis/inside of hip (but often both sides in one day so not always just one ovary). Nothing like period pains. I quite often get niggles after OV right up to period. Nothing for 1st week or two of cycle so definitely cycle related. BUT I also got a lot of it in my 1st 98 day cycle that I kept thinking was ovulation and obviously wasn't, it seems like my ovaries just hurt as they are gearing up. What cycle day are you now? X

No longer convinced they are getting darker after lining them up. Arghhhh think I am going crazy! Will just keep dtd eod. Got gp telephone appointment on wednesday.

They are definitely driving my crazy after just six days it's so hard to not become obsessed with them!!! I have heard of people never getting a positive and still getting pregnant so try not to stress especially if you have other signs such as EWCM

Hope your GP is supportive xx
