Eskimo that's great news, hope it continues to improve!

Beaut - it does vary from area to area, here it is two years trying!

So I met my friends, there were only 3 of us in the end, and my suspicions were confirmed, she is 11 weeks pregnant. However it turns out she has pcos and they have been trying for 12 months. I ended up telling them everything, and they were lovely. It was a relief to tell them actually. Xx

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 15/08/2015 07:52

Sammy so pleased your evening went well. I can only imagine what a huge relief it must be to share it all. Just goes to show there are thousands of people I'm sure that go through the same thing but it's not often spoken about. We get asked all the time "will you be having any more" and I never reply with "well we've been trying for almost a year". I just say no or maybe.

Shopping today in Northampton. My sis went to uni there and seen as we are now between Leicester & Northampton we thought we would try there shops. I remember the shopping centre being quite impressive when my sis was there. Smile

loopylou1984 · 15/08/2015 08:16

Yes, it's almost like it's a taboo subject! I think if we do manage to have a baby through this I will def tell people it was an IVF miracle - I'd like to think I could help someone else who was struggling. Xx

Pixa · 15/08/2015 08:28

It's completely a taboo subject. We have been really open with everyone, because we don't want to hide the biggest part of our lives right now and some of the questions and comments we have had are awful:

  1. "So, who's fault is It?"
  2. "Is that because YOU can't have kids?"
  3. "Well, dogs are easier/cleaner/cheaper than children anyway."

Honestly, people don't mean to be rude but it's just something that they haven't gone through before.

I've also told people never to ask someone if they're planning on starting a family.

Mostly though, people have been mega supportive. A few people have told us they've been through IVF or adoption and there is a whole network of people out there who are happy to listen, advise and help! X

loopylou1984 · 15/08/2015 08:45

Pixa oh my gosh, the dog thing is ridiculous! And as for whose fault it is, that's really not helpful! I spend a lot of timing reminding myself that no one is to blame as it is!
You're right, they don't mean it nastily, they just don't understand. That's why it was quite nice to talk to my friend last night as although they did fall naturally they were on the brink of referral and facing the prospect of treatment so she understood.
Once this cycle is over, and we're on to our last natural try before FET I will feel better, I'm just in limbo at the moment. Xx

Rainy34 · 15/08/2015 09:13

Sammy so glad your evening went well, sometimes we dont realise that a lot of people around us have difficulty conceiving , im so pleased you were able to share with your friends , it will help you through a difficult time

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 15/08/2015 14:39

Grr could I have a bladder infection. I keep needing to pee and if I don't go straight away I get terrible cramps. My tummy is really bloated and uncomfortable at the moment. Definitely not symptoms as I'm only 3dpo

RalucaMorena · 15/08/2015 15:07

Nomio from your post to God's eyes Grin

Hairstylisttoboris · 15/08/2015 16:10

chops I meant tallulah - I was in a mean mood when I wrote that.

pixa goodness I can't beleive thoes questions. Some people need an education in tact. It's horrible how taboo all this is, given how fundamental reproduction is to our basic instincts.

I felt sick this morning, not tracked this cycle so I'm anything between 6-9dpo, so obviously I tested coz I'm stupid and bfn

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 15/08/2015 16:23

Pixa those comments are awful. I have so many clients that are either struggling ttc , going through Ivf, have had numerous miscarriages etc. It's nice though because I get to see it through with them and see their lovely newborns. So it can and will happen but everyone's journey is different.

spinningirl10 · 15/08/2015 16:50

Sammy, pleased you enjoyed your evening and you told your friends. Sometimes it's good to talk.

Rainy, 3 years! That's crap, surely it should be a set time scale throughout the country Hmm hopping you get your Bfp before then.

Boris, it's too early to poas! Grin

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 16/08/2015 09:31

I can't stop peeing but surely at 4dpo it's too early to be a symptom. I often think I'm peeing more though. But I was up twice in the night

loopylou1984 · 16/08/2015 10:35

Beaut - does it sting/hurt when you pee? You could be at the start of cystitis. Try to drink loads of water and cranberry juice if you have any. If you still feel the same tomorrow try to get to the doctors, they can test your urine to see if there's bacteria in there. You don't want to let it get bad, trust me! Xx

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 16/08/2015 10:38

Sammy no it doesn't sting it's just a constant urge. I'm going for a walk now so I'll get some cranberry juice to try and flush the bug out.

Rainy34 · 16/08/2015 10:46

Spinning I know 3 years is far to long , i am a year and a half in, hoping i dont have to wait anohter year and half!!

Beautician, I think what sammy said in her post is spot on, I think if you feel like you have the constant urge to wee it could be the start of a urine infection and they are not pleasant, lots of water and cranberry juice, also see if you can get those sachets you mix into water , they are meant to help , cant think of the name of them but you will see them in the isle of the medication in the supermarket

RalucaMorena · 16/08/2015 16:23

Rainy that would be Cystitis relief sachets

spinningirl10 · 16/08/2015 17:05

Rainy, I have everything crossed that you get your BFP very soonSmile

It's quiet here, who's next to poas?
I'm 9dpo, I bought some ic's even though I hate them, now I'm desperate to poasGrin

RalucaMorena · 16/08/2015 18:47

I'm 2 days behind you spin. I have hpt since last time I was pregnant but I'm afraid to poas what if bfn again...

Kirjava · 16/08/2015 19:13

Hi ladies, I'm back from a long weekend camping.

SIs seem to have done the trick - for the first time I had a v strong positive opk on Friday, and ovulation pain on Saturday afternoon. So I'm 1dpo. Going to try my best not to symptom spot as all the symptoms I've had before were nothing. I reckon I'll be poas at 10dpo if af hasn't turned up.

Hope you're all well. boris - twerly!!!

spinningirl10 · 16/08/2015 21:34

Raluca that's why I never poas, I can't stand to see the White space! I bought them to take to Tenerife but I took a couple out before I packed them and now they're taunting me! Will keep fx for you.

Kir, hope you enjoyed your camping trip and yay for positive opkGrin

Eskimo, have I missed your update? Do you know if you ov'd?

eskimoflo · 16/08/2015 23:00

Spinning No update! Had my blood tests on Friday (CD20) but won't know the results until mid-week. Thanks for asking though. Smile I will post as soon as I know.

In the meantime... YAWN! Nothing to report!

DizzyNorthernBird · 16/08/2015 23:57

Well hello!

Sorry I've not been around all week! DP and I have been up to the Lake District on our hols with his kids, have had a lovely relaxing week Smile. Will catch up properly in the morning.

Cd18 today. I usually ovulate around about now but with being away I have no idea where I'm at cycle-wise...... Haven't temped in days, been too busy to monitor cm or cp although I did notice some ewcm today. Also kept forgetting to take my vits so I'm making a bit of a haphazard effort this cycle Confused Blush but I've had such a nice time away that I'm not too bothered tbh! Work has been mega stressful lately so enjoying my time off has been top priority....I'm not letting ttc take over this month.

Got my thermometer at the ready for the morning though so it will be interesting to see whether I have already ov'd or not!

Hope you're all well Smile

spinningirl10 · 17/08/2015 10:05

Dizzy, sounds like a lovely relaxing time. Sometimes it's good to forget the ttc for a while.

Eskimo, shall look out for your updateSmile

eskimoflo · 17/08/2015 11:31

Just called the hospital in the hope that they'd have my results from Friday. They had. The clomid didn't work again- my progesterone level was 2. I've had a cry and DH has given me lots of hugs. Just feeling absolutely rubbish now. The hospital are going to give me a call back this afternoon, hopefully with next steps. Sad Sad Sad

Pikz · 17/08/2015 12:22
