So, after 9 years together me and dh have decided to start trying. Last AF ended 29th June, I should be ovulating any day now. Very new to all this ttc malarkey so no idea what we're doing really!

I'm already making myself worry about a BFN in a couple of weeks. Didn't think I was that broody but it's all I can think about! Anybody else feeling/felt the same??

Xx

hi reesepieces, thanks for your reply! I hope your CBFM helps you to get your BFP soon!
I think I'm just frustrated with it because I assumed, given the price of it mainly (!), that it would allow me to enter dates from cycles prior to buying it so it would already know my cycle length (43 days) before using it. As it doesn't I guess I need to be a bit more patient and use it for a few more cycles whilst it's getting to know me! on the first cycle it asked me to test from day 6 onwards which is very early given my cycle length but I understood why because I'm guessing when first set up it presumes a 28 day cycle. but even though it now has the data which says my cycle is long it's telling me to test on day 6 again!
Fingers crossed me and the machine start getting on soon! Grin

Hello all! I'm 33 and ttc#1 - only just begun so waiting for a coil removal induced AF to bugger off before I start having an investigation of my cycle - I've bought some cheap opks from SME fertility - anyone else used these? Have also bought an ovulation microscope - never even heard of this as a reliable indicator before so also wondered if this device is actually useful or is it a bit of witch doctory? Huge wishes of luck to everyone here! Smile x

reesespieces · 03/08/2015 08:41

Hopefully it'll start working with you v soon Shary! I thought it might take a while to get used to me so gave myself a couple of months using it before we started ttc...

Am already getting concerned about how early I'll want to test in tww- not the best at waiting for things HmmGrin

lilygirl81 · 03/08/2015 09:53

reeses I am exactly the same, hate the tww. I have my tests all in the bathroom cupboard, I have about 15, so could theoretically test every day up to af, even though I know there is no possible way I would even have had implantation yet. At the weekend I had my stomach felt a bit crampy, but that was at the most 4dpo so much more likely to have been gas!

Alpha100 · 03/08/2015 20:27

Hi everyone, I'm 32 and we have been ttc for 5 cycles.

pickle I'm in the same boat- my OH was away for ovulation this month. So frustrating! X

reesespieces · 03/08/2015 20:46

Hi new people Smile

Fx for implantation Lilygirl! I'm fully stocked up too - I know what I'm like and will probs test every day from about 8dpo....I might as well admit and accept it now ????????

DrGee - what is an ovulation microscope and where does it go??!!

Laylaloo20 · 03/08/2015 22:18

Hi everyone including newbies!
Catching up on the chat.

Thank you custard for the thoughts and good luck wishes! I hope you are well - you must be so excited!
Lily girl fingers crossed for you and everyone else too.
I got AF day after my spotting. Means my luteal phase is "normal" which I'm happy about as I thought it was abnormally long and wasnt sure what this meant. So the clear blue ovulation test was very helpful this month and to continue to use each month to help get to know my cycle better.
Anyone due to test soon?
My fertile window is a couple weeks away I think... Will start using ovulation test at cd12 as cycles are quite long.
Dr Gee I have never heard of the microscope to test for ovulation? How does that work?
Good luck to everyone x

Laylaloo20 · 03/08/2015 22:19

Very helpful last month

DrGee · 04/08/2015 00:11

Laylaloo20 well apparently it's a little microscope lens (looks like a large lipstick case) and first thing in the morning you put some saliva on the lens - let it dry and then examine it through the lens. If you see any crystal structures (called ferning) you are in optimal ovulation - if you see a bit you are in transistional and if no ferning crystals you are obviously not ovulating. Apparently hormone changes causes your salvia to become more salinated so you're basically checking your morning breath salvia for salt crystals! Sounds a bit weird but it sounds a bit easier than weeing in pots and is reusable, so I shall test it out and give a full (and frank) review! Grin

Tabby84 · 04/08/2015 00:15

AF due thurs, though that's based on averages as cycles haven't been regular. Currently having suspected IB so trying to hold off on testing until at least thurs. it's driving me mad!

E11Chick · 04/08/2015 08:36

Hey all - my notifications stopped working so I've missed out on loads! My AF has been and gone although it was an awful AF. Spotting for 5 days then the worst pain I've ever had (I never usually suffer with cramps only a light bit of cramping the day before) I had to leave work and lay on the sofa all day feeling sorry for myself. I did discover feminax though which was amazing!

So onto cycle 2 now and feeling positive :-)

How is everybody else doing? X

lilygirl81 · 04/08/2015 09:25

DrGee That could be really interesting, and definitely easier than opk

Laylaloo20 · 04/08/2015 21:54

That's ashame e11chick! I was lucky and seemed to have a very light and mostly cramp free period! Always light but always tend to have very bad cramping especially just before it starts! Hopefully the minimal cramping will continue :)
When will you be in your fertile window e11chick... We may be similar ish times for that as my period has just finished too.

E11Chick · 04/08/2015 22:08

Hey Laylaloo :-) my app is telling me 18th-23rd so around then sometime! Is that close to you? I usually have fairly lightish AFs with minimal cramps so this was a really irregular thing to happen but I had a really long cycle prior to this which I think probably had something to do with it!

OP posts:
Laylaloo20 · 05/08/2015 17:42

Ovia is telling me my fertile window will be the 17th to 23rd. So we can be tww buddies! I normally have light AF too but did have a bad one in June. I still think it's my cycle regulating from coming off the pill in jan.

E11Chick · 05/08/2015 18:43

Yes we can, we can complain about how long the wait is together!

OP posts:
lilygirl81 · 06/08/2015 10:03

Morning all. I think I'll have to accept that my weird cramping is down to my new medication rather than anything else, it happened again last night, and at 8dpo, I think implantation would have happened already. Mind you, the first time I got a BFP, and made it to 8 weeks, I had cramping the entire time, so who knows.

DrGee how are things going with you?

alwaysinapickle · 06/08/2015 12:21

Hi all, I've been away so just catching up now.
I mentioned SMEP and someone asked about it, here's the link spermmeetseggplan.com/ (if that link works!)
I'm CD13 so have started opk's as I don't want to miss it. Ovia says fertile window is 7th - 12th but MyDays says 4th-9th.
Trying to DTD every other day but that's easier said than done.
FX for this month girlies.

Pixie1988 · 06/08/2015 17:42

Hi all, I've been away for a while - busy with work then this thread disappeared & only just found you guys! Hope everyone is well. Finally had my af last week and been using the Ovia app. It says I'm
Ovulating 9th-14th August. Good luck all GrinGrin xx

DrGee · 06/08/2015 17:50

Ooh Pixie Ovia says I'm 10th-15th - going to be a busy week for us! Grin fx for everyone! X

TheCatsMother99 · 06/08/2015 19:32

Hi everyone!

I'm a first timer TTC... I'm in the very, very early stages of TTC though as only came off Cerazette last weekend & am now waiting for AF so that I can get in to some form of a cycle. I've been on various pills for about 12 years since I was 16 though so I'm half expecting it'll take my body a while to adjust to not being on any contraceptives.

When I've been a bit late taking my pill before I've had spotting but now I've come off it completely I've had nothing, I'm not sure if that's normal or not as I'm completely clueless but I'm putting it down to being on the pill for so long.

I feel like I need to do a lot of reading up on things because I haven't got a clue what I'm doing (other than the man gives a woman a special hug and all that stuff Wink ) so will no doubt be scanning here to get clued up and asking a fair few questions - so apologies in advance!

Anyway, enough about me... Good luck everyone Smile

Pixie1988 · 06/08/2015 20:09

Welcome catsmother (love the name btw) don't worry I'm new to all this too. I will help as much as I can if you have any questions. Yes it takes a while for your body to get back to normal after coming off contraception.

Pixie1988 · 06/08/2015 20:10

And Drgee... TTC buddies hey? GrinGrin Yeah busy week, I have so much going on at work, it's trying to fit Dtd in lol xx
