So, after 9 years together me and dh have decided to start trying. Last AF ended 29th June, I should be ovulating any day now. Very new to all this ttc malarkey so no idea what we're doing really!

I'm already making myself worry about a BFN in a couple of weeks. Didn't think I was that broody but it's all I can think about! Anybody else feeling/felt the same??

Xx

Thanks reeces. Hopefully it will just be a random blip in my cycle!

Brenna24 · 13/08/2015 11:18

Hiya. Mind if i join in too. We have been married for nearly 3 months now and are ttc1. I am currently in my fertile window according to Ovia but I am now 37 yo and DH 39 so it may take a while for us.

LunasMom · 13/08/2015 12:54

Hi everybody! Sorry for the delayed response! Yes I'm definitely pregnant, recieivng blazing pink lines now when I test and my hog level was 203 on Monday. I'm expecting yesterday's blood test results today...wish me luck :) I really want this baby

Brenna24 · 13/08/2015 13:26

Best of luck. How exciting.

crispsandchocolate · 14/08/2015 18:04

Hi all, can I join you?! I have been following this thread for a few weeks but we are now officially ttc #1! We are hoping to be quite relaxed about it at first (will see how that goes though!) so will give it a few months before using opk, apps etc and see how we get on! Both dh and I are in our late twenties, married just over a year.

Laylaloo20 · 14/08/2015 21:38

Hi everyone including all the newbies! I can't keep up with where everyone is!! Who is near to testing?
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
I am having a night in and have had a very small glass of red wine. Being good and trying not to drink anything else this weekend.

Still testing low fertility on my cb opk but still dtd as often as we can as convinced I'm in my fertile window!

Alpha100 · 15/08/2015 08:49

wow- it turns out the 'random blip in my cycle' is not a random blip at all. Although I had all symptoms indicating my period was coming it never showed and I now have a bfp! I don't quite know how as hubby was away when I got positive opk (and I'm certainly no virgin Mary). All I can guess is either I used the opk wrong or that dtd before he left did the trick. I've really enjoyed being on this post as no question ever gets ignored. FX for all of you xx

reesespieces · 15/08/2015 13:00

Eek - congratulations Alpha!! x

Laylaloo20 · 15/08/2015 13:04

Congratulations alpha!!! Lovely news!! X

Brenna24 · 17/08/2015 12:15

Oooh, congratulations. I am in my tww now. My sister leaves to go and work in china this coming weekend, so a lot of other things to think about, which should keep me out of mischief.

lilygirl81 · 17/08/2015 15:41

Alpha Congratulations, that's great news

Lunas Hope your results are good

This has been such a lucky thread! I've been a bit AWOL, AF really got me down this month, and DH has been really struggling with his depression. We had another heart to heart yesterday, and I think he is really ready to get help. He asked me to make him an appointment, but I think it is probably important for him to be in charge. He is looking forward to getting our BFP, and I think he was more disappointed than he thought he would be.

iamabear · 18/08/2015 18:10

Congratulations Alpha!

I popped back on this thread for a bit of moral support really, seeing as I can't discuss with anyone except my husband in real life!

Last month was my first off the pill and I had a 34 day cycle with possible ovulation around day 26 according to fertility friend which works it out from basal temperature, although the shift in temperature wasn't pronounced enough for it to give me a confident result.

This month I've been doing OPKs so that I could confirm what the graph was showing. However I've been testing since day 15 and it's already day 25 and no sign of anything, not even a pattern with my temperature this month Confused

I really want to go to the doctor after my next AF... I've heard they are really unsympathetic unless you've been trying for a year but surely if you suspect something is wrong they'll do some tests? My period has never been right. I went on the pill at 15 to attempt to have some regulation. I'm 31 now.

I've also come off my prescription for a mental illness whilst TTC (on the advice of the doctor) so surely they can't make me wait a year and then go, 'oh yeah, there is a problem after all'...

Ok, rant over Grin

Does anyone else have reaaalllly long cycles? So frustrating!

Sunshinegirl2015 · 19/08/2015 08:07

Congrats Alpha! Amazing news!

imabear I thought that about doctors but my doctor has already referred me for an ultrasound scan and a second Pap test and I've been TTC since January. This is in part due to my painful periods which some months cause me to dry heave and faint but also because she knows I'm TTC so I'm very happy that if there is a problem like endo then I can get it sorted.

At first I don't think she took me seriously but I went back and said that take TTC out of the equation and it's not normal that my periods are that bad which is what I think made her take the next step. My previous doctor told me it was normal to have painful periods every so often and another doctor tried to tell me everytime that it was probably constipation!!

Good luck with doctors! Don't loose heart x

Brenna24 · 20/08/2015 17:01

Can someone please explain to my dog that i don't need practice in keeping my patience with a seemingly endless cycle of cleaning the floor/getting wakened up at stupid hours of the night/dealing with tantrums etc. I love the old git to bits and am worrying that this is the start of another decline for him.

Casa2010 · 20/08/2015 19:18

Hello!! I'm new to this game also and slightly confused! We've only been at it for 2 weeks but with a slight pause as I came on the day after our first attempt, finished a week ago today and had some fun over the weekend and today is day 4 of stomach cramps and going to the loo a lot! Bit of spotting on Monday and Tuesday but not very much. Mega confused, only had one period since coming off the pill!
Sorry I don't know the lingo Blush

iamabear · 20/08/2015 20:21

Thanks for the encouragement sunshine Smile.

That is so true about keeping the period issues and TTC business separate when talking to the doctor. I'll definitely keep that in mind!

Welcome Casa! That does sound intriguing. It would be amazing if you've caught lucky at the first attempt!... what day of your cycle are you on now? (counting from the first day of your period)... fingers crossed!

Casa2010 · 20/08/2015 20:27

I believe day 13! I keep thinking no its not that quick..but OH says that one night stand pregnancies happen that quick!

iamabear · 21/08/2015 07:54

I know! I actually can't fathom how people get pregnant from a one night stand! What are the chances!

Apparently in an average cycle of 28 days, ovulation usually takes place between days 13 - 15 so if I were you I would keep baby dancing for a few more days in case your body is playing tricks on you!

But if you have a browse of these threads you'll see some women ovulate on day 7 so anything's possible!

I've found it confusing when TTC straight off the pill as it's handy to know your cycle length so you know when to expect your period.

If don't know when your period should be coming but you think you ovulated at the weekend and you want to test for a pregnancy (poas - pee on a stick) then you need to wait until 12 dpo (days past ovulation) before there would be enough of the hormone to give you a positive result (if you are pregnant). I think Hmm that would be day 21 of your cycle for you. If you see 2ww written on here - it means 2 week window - the length of time between ovulation and testing where you can do nothing but wait!

But on the other hand try not to get your hopes up too much as it's also possible that coming off the pill will give you really long cycles for a few months... I've been off the pill 2 months and have ovulated on days 26 last month and 28 this month so it turns out any baby dancing earlier in the cycle will be just for fun!

Casa2010 · 21/08/2015 12:12

They are either lucky/unlucky!!
I think I might just do that Smile yea I've found it confusing as well, we are fairly similar then being off the pill for a short amount of time, any signs for you as yet? Day 5 of cramping and still toileting lots! Feeling tired too but I'm sure its nothing major!

iamabear · 21/08/2015 20:40

I wonder where has everyone else gone lol! Either they've all got pregnant in the last week or their thread subscriptions stopped when all the accounts were reset after the hacking.

I've got signs of ovulation which is enough to make me happy at the moment as hopefully it means everything is working as it should, albeit with a massive lag!

Really quite uncomfortable... not quite cramping, more like tenderness. I think my body is rediscovering what oestrogen is after all these years!

Keep us updated!

Casa2010 · 21/08/2015 22:59

It is a bit quiet!!
My cramps are making me quite miserable now :-( not sure what its meaning!
Good luck!

Brenna24 · 22/08/2015 11:00

I have cramps today too. AF not due until another week and I am roasting and clammy and have a backache. Trying not to symptom spot here. I have a cake to make for an 80th birthday party tomorrow and then I am off to go to see my sister for the last time before she flies off tomorrow so plenty to do to keep my mind off things.

reesespieces · 22/08/2015 11:49

Hello everyone

Good luck to everyone who might be about to get some good news! I've been MIA due to the week from hell at work and also my password getting hacked so I lost this.

Lilygirl - hope your husband is on the way to feeling better.

My AF started two days early and was weird, a lot of spotting which I don't usually get and so far has also been lighter and longer than usual with a lot of new symptoms (but -ve tests) - having actual hormones in my system doesnt seem to agree with me at all! Hope everyone else is doing ok?

Emzlou15 · 23/08/2015 09:21

Hey guys, sorry have been quiet.
Hope everyone's doing ok
I'm still waiting to see signs of ovulation or period. I'm now 25 days since my Withdrawl bleed from coming off the pill and hoping I might ovulate soon. All OPK's have been negative so far. I kind of just want a period to happen to know where I stand in my cycle. Never wished to have a period before!

Casa2010 · 25/08/2015 18:47

Ah bless you all, what a stressful time! Fingers crossed for some positive news!
I've still got cramps but they haven't been all day everyday since last week which was Mon-Fri. Only had one AF since coming off the pill so not 100% sure when it's due! My stomach is also feeling quite bloated and I've been a bit tired!
