TTC - anxious over early pregnancy possible symptoms?

PrtyPsn · 27/06/2015 07:53

Hi,
First time post so please be kind :)
Been TTC for 4 months now (though month 1 we missed my fertile window)
I'm around 5ish days from AF being due but wondering if I could be pregnant for a few reasons: I e been really struggling to sleep the past few nights and when I manage to I have really vivid dreams (the kind when you aren't sure if they have actually happened when you wake up) I've been peeing almost double what I normally would and every now and then I get a weird feeling in my stomach, in a similar place to where I have period pains but it's not pain, it's more like when you over extend a muscle, just a twinge then it's gone.
Was wondering if anyone had similar symptoms? Sorry to pour all this in here (you've probably heard it a million times before) but nobody knows we are TTC so I'm kinda on my own with this!
Thanks

bananafish81 · 14/07/2015 10:54

annie pammy massive hugs, keeping fx

em ooh I can see something faint, test again in a bit and see!! certainly looks promising

well, I’m 10 dpo and don’t have any genuine symptoms (keep checking for sore boobs, as I’ve never had them before in my life, and the only soreness I have is from poking them to see if they’re sore!)

Had slight grumbly cramping like pre-AF cramping on and off for several days, but I’m fairly certain that’s just gas and constipation (TMI?!)

Just nervously waiting for AF to turn up so I can go and get my Day 3 blood tests done

I’m so glad you ladies understand the horrible guilty envy of women who seem to fall pregnant just by looking at their partners.

I’m feeling particularly guilty as my brother and SIL got pregnant the very first month - they weren’t trying but weren’t avoiding either. Very sadly they had an early loss, but SIL has been OK-ed to start trying again. I’m obviously rooting for them and so want them to have a happy healthy pregnancy, but there’s this horrible part of me that’s feeling it’s so unfair that they at least know they can get pregnant. I have the occasional pity party feeling, why do I get epilepsy and chronic pain and fertility issues and my Mum dying young when she gets to be perfectly healthy and she’ll have her Mum around when she has a baby. I hate myself for thinking that way, and I don’t resent them, I just resent turns of events that I have the occasional strop about!

bugista · 14/07/2015 11:07

I can def see a faint line there Em. Keep testing but it's def there - you're not imagining it!!

Banana don't feel bad, most of us have those feelings - you always feel like you've got it much harder than others. Like you say, it's not THEM that you resent - it's just the situation. It's so normal so don't beat yourself up about it - you are DEFINITELY entitled to the occasional strop! ;-)

EmFlat · 14/07/2015 11:14

Thanks Bug Wink Will test again in the morning to see what first-of-the-day results in.

Oh Banana, I'm so sorry Sad unthinkingly posting those pics here - just because I wasn't sure what I was seeing. You're allowed to feel that way and it's not wrong or unfair: so don't be hard on yourself. The world isn't a fair place, and people who try hardest don't get their deserved rewards.

Sending huge hugs xxx

bananafish81 · 14/07/2015 11:31

Em bless you so sweet,SO didn't mean to think I was in any way addressing you. I'm super excited for you and keeping all my fingers and toes crossed!! Smile Xxx

pammy410 · 14/07/2015 13:43

Thank u ladies for ur comforting and supportive messages. Its been a busy morning in work so kept my mind of things, hoping the afternoon will be the same. I've perked up a bit now but unsure of where I go from here. I'm torn between testing and hanging off a few more days. I dread getting a bfn but is waiting going to toy with my emotions even more?

I use the mobile app so I can't see ur pictures Em, I hope it is a line for u, fx'd.

PrtyPsn · 14/07/2015 14:09

Hey hey ladies - no judgement and no apologies :) clearly nobody meant to upset anyone and it's fine to post pics, have strops and rants and tear and laughs!
So much has happened since I logged in this morning! Stand by for giant message...

Pammy I'm in a v similar boat to you - I've got basically no symptoms except a bit of cramping which is probably AF! I've tested today and got a BFN - I'm on DPO 9 and I'm pretty sure I'm out but not sure whether to test tomorrow or wait till the weekend! THeh2WW is HORRIBLE. I'm not sure what the answer is (whether to wait or test sooner) but just wanted to say you're not the only one feeling this way! Cake

PrtyPsn · 14/07/2015 14:17

Em why did I think you had moved already?? Also... OMG YES!! YES! YES!! That is so a line!!! Oooooooooo!!! It's faint but it's there, keep peeing, my lovely!!

banana totally get the sore boobs thing - no idea what it feels like except my constant prodding hahaha! I guess we will know when it happens then be whining about the pain! 10dpo is still early, implantation might not have occurred yet so don't be too down.
Yes... those people who seem to get pregnant from a handshake :/ hard cos you've gotta be happy but it's frustrating and jealousy is only natural. You can totally strop about it, we understand, seems you've had things pretty tough but here's for a positive future :)

pammy I can totally appreciate the feeling of being torn, sweetie. The dread is horrid and the BFN's hurt everytime but, for me, the not knowing would be worse. You are a woman and you are strong, you can do this - whatever you choose to do you have the power to follow it through and you've got all of us behind you xx

Big hugs to all that's needing them (and just cos I'm all touchy feely anyway!)

OP posts:
PrtyPsn · 14/07/2015 14:19

bug 9dpo is still a little early, you really are best waiting for at least a day past AF being due, I know it's hard but it might save some (unnecessary?) heartache?

OP posts:
Annie2311 · 14/07/2015 14:26

em! that's a line if ever I saw one! How wonderful. Hopefully first go of the day tomorrow will show up darker. When are/were you due again? I can't remember. What a great pic to see on here!

banana, never feel guilty for how you feel. This is a big, scary, life-changing, amazing thing we are all working towards and so the emotions involved are bound to be enormous and wide ranging and all of them are absolutely fine and right. Squeezing your hand in solidarity my love.

Update from here is that AF arrived 1 hour after BFN. Onwards to cycle 4 hey?!

Big love to you all xxx

PrtyPsn · 14/07/2015 14:36

Waah annie that sucks - damn you, AF!! Come on cycle 4, I've got a good feeling about this month, ladies! Keep DTD cos I think more BFP's are on the way!!

OP posts:
bugista · 14/07/2015 16:03

Thanks prty, I'm def gonna try and wait until Saturday to be sure.

annie sorry to hear about AF but onward and upward like you say!!

LifeIsGood14 · 14/07/2015 17:46

So excited for you Em! Eager to see your update in the morning! X

AlwaystheGodmother · 14/07/2015 20:57

Been a while sInce I checked in but am so excited to see a potential first BFP for the thread - cautious hat on, Em obvs, but can't wait to replace it with my party hat for you.... keep us posted.

To all the AF-ers. It's a crap one & no mistake and never thought i would say it but am now desperate for mine - perhaps we can all end up in sync like me & my bezzie were when we lived together?! - as it would at least mean I was regular in some way! My GP has been fab today tho. Am now 12 days late & symptomless --other than imaginary ones-- , last negative was Sat & told me that tracking as i am doing is ideal, not to get too hung up on ovulation - ERRRR......OKAYBlush - & given I am a dried out husk of a 38 yr old to only wait two months before going back (4th cycle of trying for us) to progress investigations. She suggested DH has his sample measured 1st as the first test she has for us as it's least invasive exam, bless her. Not told him yet. Chuckle.

Banana welcome, fascinated by how well informed you are & intrigued as suspect I may have same as you... PCOS diagnosis for me some years ago always at back of my mind in spite of regular cycles over last 6 mths typically as soon as we 'try' they go all screwy.

To any other newbies as I can barely keep track - sorry I haven't said a direct hello but welcome aboard the loveliest thread of lovelies you ever did meet.
Hope everyone is looking forward to Hump Day - seems apt for our gang right? & how is it nearly Wed already?! X

EmFlat · 14/07/2015 21:53

Hey lovelies - sorry I went quiet, busy day. So, catching up...

Thanks to Bug, Pammy and Life Smile Annie, AF due in literally a cpl days, going by last month's 27-day cycle. So my excitement is kinda muted!

Banana, bless you hon - I knew you didn't mean me specifically, just realised my timing coincided awkwardly Confused You're too kind as I'd expect some silent jealousy even on here - I've felt it on other threads, but am always thrilled as we all want the same thing.

Prty, I'm actually gutted it's not you posting a tentative bfp - you started the thread! Cycle 4 is evidently a lucky one WinkWinkWink hope you can follow suit!

Godmother, bless you too! I'll update as I go, obvs: actually caved and tested again this pm so have used both First Response sticks. Will use a cheap one tomorrow am, and a Clearblue on Thurs.

Hubby was surprised but happy: told him not to count his chickens until there's a clearer result.

Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ps as Sod's Law would have it, we weren't even trying that hard this month; after cycle three's constant dtd every other day, temp-charting and symptom-spotting, I was gonna leave it until after moving house. Tmi time: it looks like achieving orgasm after hubby worked Wink and sleeping with hips raised for a while after.

AlwaystheGodmother · 14/07/2015 22:18

Oh Em you're the third person to tell me raising the hips could have been it. Anyone else heard that too? Two girls swore it is what worked for them. That said I tried it twice this cycle & all i felt was a bit of an eejit.
Perhaps my DHs strategy of yelling at the vague foof area afterwards 'Don't make me come up there again, stay in your room' is not one everyone needs to adopt eh? Made me laugh so hard am pretty sure it all fell out. What was that about "no such thing as TMI" on here???!

PrtyPsn · 14/07/2015 22:22

godmother glad your doc was so kind and helpful :) good to know she's on board with supporting you and DH (love to see his face when you tell him he's up to bat first!!)

em you absolute sweetie, I never even thought anything apart from 'holy shit, there's a fucking line, you go girl!!' there was no jealously at all and it never crossed my mind that you would be gutted it wasn't me!! Our times will all come, patience is a virtue and all that! as if you peed on the good sticks to double check! I'm sure the cheapie will still give a decent BFPS though :) glad hubby was happy but definitely no lifting, twisting, bending or stretching now!!

Oh godmother Grin my sides are aching!!!! Hahahahaha!!! That's brilliant!! My other half did once unceremoniously push my rather ample behind into the air with one hand and said 'that helps, right? It's the right direction'
I've heard mixed reviews but apparently lying flat is advised- I say if you think it'll help them do it!!
Yes, no apologies or such thing as tmi here! That being said, this whole orgasm soon after or at the same time thing where our beautiful foofs suck up all that baby making goodness... seems to have happened to me a time or two or maybe it's just coincided with the times I haven't leaked - anyone willing to share experience on this??

OP posts:
EmFlat · 14/07/2015 23:26

I'm crying, Godmother! Both at your hubby's reprimand and your comment about laughing it all out >_<

Well, I'll make sure this is def a bfp before getting all cocky, but the hips and orgasming-after-hubby thing happened both (Fx'd) times I've fallen pregnant. With DS I followed exactly the same... um... principle?? and figured I'd try the same this time, so there could be something in it.

Yes, will behave myself with the packing etc - don't wanna dislodge any tentative little squatters!

AlwaystheGodmother · 14/07/2015 23:27

Not sure this is in keeping with the thread and the basic theme of Why Are We Here but AF just finally arrived & am quite chuffed!

TiggeryBear · 15/07/2015 03:39

Hi ladies Smile
May I join?
AF is due today/tomorrow & I'm definitely not feeling "normal"
I'm feeling really, really nauseous, but I'm soo hungry (I even ate 2 dinners Monday night Shock) my boobs are killing me! Even my vest on nipples is hurting! Coupled with usual(ish) cramping & headaches. I don't know what to think!!!
I tested Monday & got a BFN :-( I'm really confused & debating driving to the nearest 24hrs shop to get a test to poas in the morning! Am I better waiting (if I can control myself) until the weekend to poas again or to test Wednesday/Thursday?
Hugs to all Flowers
