TTC - anxious over early pregnancy possible symptoms?

PrtyPsn · 27/06/2015 07:53

Hi,
First time post so please be kind :)
Been TTC for 4 months now (though month 1 we missed my fertile window)
I'm around 5ish days from AF being due but wondering if I could be pregnant for a few reasons: I e been really struggling to sleep the past few nights and when I manage to I have really vivid dreams (the kind when you aren't sure if they have actually happened when you wake up) I've been peeing almost double what I normally would and every now and then I get a weird feeling in my stomach, in a similar place to where I have period pains but it's not pain, it's more like when you over extend a muscle, just a twinge then it's gone.
Was wondering if anyone had similar symptoms? Sorry to pour all this in here (you've probably heard it a million times before) but nobody knows we are TTC so I'm kinda on my own with this!
Thanks

Ditto Godmother - don't know if it's my descent into my 30's but my tolerance is crap these days.

I've not limited really - as we've not been actively TTC, I've only cut down since I started to get symptoms of possible conception - when I conceived back in March, I'd been drinking straight through Confused Blush - I stopped straight away, but still...

PrtyPsn · 20/08/2015 16:51

That's better (wriggles around in username like trying on a pair of shoes) all those extra vowels dropped :)

Alcohol was the very first thing I ditched. I've always been a drinker, glass of wine after work and getting wasted every weekend (I'm the beer pong queen!!)
I knew it would be the hardest to kick do I did it first. The first week was a struggle but I soon got used to it. 5 months sober now (except a beer or two on my hols in June)
I choose not to drink even during/after AF cos I'm worried about having to give it up again so I abstain completely.
And believe me- my friends and family will find that harder to believe then me TTC or my BFP (when I get it!)
I also used to think people who didnt drink were really boring haha! I do miss it on occasion and it's hard to hide from family and friends but it's worth every jug of Pimms I've missed the summer
Im now caffeine free, supplement taking but my diet could be better

missybct · 20/08/2015 17:08

Diet is probably the one thing I've got most of a hold over. I don't drink tonnes of caffeine anyway - I let that claim go to my better half who drinks black coffee (boak). I have a coffee in the morning and a tea first thing but that's it.

I think if we do actively TTC I will probably give up the ol' vino - it's been my faithful friend for such a while but may have outstayed its welcome now Grin - That said, after the stress of today (work crap) I'm tempted to have a glass - I'm starting to get more and more convinced my symptoms are just hormone related, rather than pregnancy related Sad

Afternoon ladies, just catching up on the days posts - not going to lie the minute I open up a new message I forget who has said what ... Here goes - Prty - glad to have you back to original ! Pombear - sorry to hear your under the weather , Ella / godmother - still no AF for me , and symptoms seem to have disappeared today, I'm predicting its lulling me into a false sense of hope which I was determined not to have this cycle!!oh and on the drinking front - I've cut down and only really drink if I'm going out although oflate it has started creeping in on a Saturday night ! Hope your all well - as well as can be for us symptom spotters ! Oh and I found out someone else at work pg today - 5 due in jan now!!

MummyBex1985 · 20/08/2015 18:25

prty that's amazing going (and welcome back Wink)

I'm pretty similar re glass of wine after work. I don't really go out a lot or binge drink but I know DP won't want to quit together (it's been hard enough getting him to cut down) so it'll be pretty hard to be on the wagon alone!

PrtyPsn · 20/08/2015 18:29

bex my OH said he would stop when I did but I told him he didn't have to. He has cut down massively but now when he has a beer I have an alcohol free beer or cider so it doesn't really feel like I'm missing out. I can totally relate to the relax value but I do think some of it is mind over matter as I find I have been just as chilled out once I have an alcohol free type drink especially from the bottle - even felt tipsy on the mixed fruit alcohol free cider Blush

Hey!
It's so interesting and helpful reading all your messages..hope you don't mind me joining in..although I don't know any of the lingo Confused haha!!

PrtyPsn · 20/08/2015 19:49

Hi casa welcome to our little group :)
There is a link somewhere in the thread to abbreviations, I reckon most important for this thread:
AF - period
DTD - doing the deed, sex
POAS - peeing on a stick, testing
OPK - ovulation predictor kit, ovulation tests
OH/DH - other half and dear husband
CD - cycle day
CM - cervical mucus
EWCM - egg white cervical mucus, usually occurs around ovulation

These are the ones I use/see the most and my own creation
DBAFD - days before AF due :)
Feel free to ask any questions, we are pretty friendly!

Ah so much to remember!! Bear with me :-)
I'm slightly confused! We've only been at it for 2 weeks but with a slight pause as I came on the day after our first attempt, finished a week ago today and had some fun over the weekend and today is day 4 of stomach cramps and going to the loo a lot! Bit of spotting on Monday and Tuesday but not very much. Mega confused, only had one period since coming off the pill!

MummyBex1985 · 20/08/2015 20:08

Casa welcome to the obsessive world of symptom spotting!

PrtyPsn · 20/08/2015 20:20

It can take a while for the pill to get out of your system casa that's not to say you can't get pregnant straight away but some women find it takes months for periods (not necessarily ovulation) to return and then fall into a normal pattern, symptoms of stopping the pill can also be similar to pregnancy symptoms too frustratingly :(

OP posts:
Casa2010 · 20/08/2015 20:32

Yea that's what I've been thinking..tricking symptoms that seem similar! I've been on the pill for maybe 8 years as my periods were so painful before, always dizzy and throwing up, the one I had after I came off was remarkably pain free!

Ellamorella · 20/08/2015 23:26

Hi everyone!
Firstly, welcome Casa! I hope you find this group helpful, as we all have!

I know you all know I've not given up drinking, but not getting drunk, as I said. My friend's friend is a doctor, and she said that drinking when you're trying is fine, as when the egg is defending, it's super protected, and not connected to you yet, so not getting anything through you yet - sorry, realise I'm showing up my bad medical knowledge here!! But she says once you know, then you should stop. In case that makes anyone feel better. Although I totally get the abstaining thing Godmother!!

Although I'm not officially due til Tues, so 5 more DBAF, I really feel like AF will arrive tomorrow! I've had quite bad PMT today, been teary at work (luckily managed to avoid actually crying), and had quite bad cramps and backache all day, so am thinking she'll make an early appearance! Also, I've felt so ill today, because of my earache, so I feel completely shattered. Ah well....

Next month I have just downloaded Ovia? Are any of you using it? It seems to be really great! So I'm excited about using that!

Sleep well all!

Ellamorella · 20/08/2015 23:27

When the egg is descending!!

pomBearPooPouffe · 21/08/2015 06:46

Hello everyone!

Still no idea what's going on here.

Ellamorella hope your ear isn't like mine - both now infected. Blurgh.
missybct/AlwaystheGodmother - should've specified middle ear, not outer ear! (I subscribe to the point of view that Hopi ear candles are dangerous - too much evidence for/potential for permanently wrecking the eardrum.)

Does anyone else fine that all this TTC is making them get all serious and worrisome about all sorts of things? I have just started a thread about anorexia in AIBU having lain awake for hours last night realising that both sides of the family do currently have a problem with it. But this is just one thing of many. Good thing I already don't drink or smoke or it'd be another thing to get all serious and worry about... Grin

neetie1 · 21/08/2015 07:18

Morning. Very odd symptoms /things here.... ok

  1. Both dogs follow me around for last few days and if I stand still younger one plants herself by me.
  2. Spots. .Hardly ever get them three came out yesterday.
  3. Irrational random crying, got very upset about if something might happen to my youngest dog while on bed hubby asleep e5c and all of a sudden was full on (silent blubbering ) .......
AlwaystheGodmother · 21/08/2015 07:50

Neetie - that doesn't sound much fun. But also promising? I have been a TOTALLY cry baby this cycle. Next door DC passed brilliant GCSEs yesterday & I burst into tears - ! How embarrassing. Lots of TLC to you neetie.
pom - sorry about ear candles, was something a friend had tried - interesting facts tho will pass them onto her. Hope you feel better soon.
stripes - FX for you love. All those preggos at work.... I hear ya. If I hear one more 'accidental' one i may just cry.
Cycle day 44. Infuriating. Think am out. Tested with first wee this am & another BFN so.... Wishing I could blame cheap Tesco HPTs Sad My boobs are so sore I had to wear a tight vest in bed last night, turning over without hurt too much. They feel & look huge & just walking hurts so much... its so cruel. Specially with my bee stings as they are never like it normally. Really am gutted as had hoped a later test would be positive. Think ellas mate has therefore given me the green card to get merry tomorrow therefore!!
Have a good weekend everyone.

PrtyPsn · 21/08/2015 08:03

neetie poor you, I know how horrible it is to be so irrationally emotional (remember my crying episode last cycle cos someone parked in my space?!) some interesting symptoms though, FX'd
godmorher massive hugs to you, my lovely. How bloody frustrating to be so late and still BFN :( sometimes I feel like our bodies are working against us with TTC!!

MummyBex1985 · 21/08/2015 10:30

Ellamorella I use Ovia. It's dead easy to use and nice to see your data after you've been using it for a full month!

I have an irregular cycle post inplanon so it basically keeps changing my fertile window on a monthly basis so it's not great for that just yet, but if you have regular cycles I bet it's even better.

Would still really recommend it, you can keep your notes and track your AF and other symptoms and it tells you when you should take a PG test. I love it Smile

missybct · 21/08/2015 11:05

Morning all, how are we all doing?
neetie - how are you feeling this morning?
Godmother Have a vino, have a relax, hopefully AF will turn up and you can get on with next cycle.
Pom - never tried those candles, thank god! And yes, the TTC worry bus as I call it in my head, you add to it as you go along!

I thought I'd have some good news this morning - alas not. Weirdly though, indigestion came on big and strong last night accompanied by some seriously sharp pains that are not common "missybct" cycle.

I also POAS twice - once last night, once this morning
1st last night - something came up, but DP couldn't see it and thinks if I saw anything it's a EVAP.
2nd this morning - took it, nada - to be fair, I gave up after about 5 minutes and went back to bed as I was shattered - I came downstairs and there was a definite line. Again though, EVAP? DP could see this one, but again, always disregard that after 10 minutes, right?

I'll show a pic once I can get the fuckers off my phone Grin

Ellamorella · 21/08/2015 11:33

Hi!

missy That sounds positive I would have thought! FXd for you big time!
I was thinking the morning, when you're TTCing, you start scrutinising two things. 1. the tissue after you wipe! 2. tests, be they Ov or preg!
I was feeling quite nauseous this morning, but I honestly disregard the nausea for me, because I can make myself feel sick psychosomatically when there is a sick bug going round!!
Bex Ovia is so great! I have been using Glow, but O feels so much more responsive.
Pom I've been using my drops, which I always have on standby from the doctors, as this is recurring for me, and beginning to feel a bit better, but still not feeling great. Hope you start to feel better soon!
Godmother it must be so frustrating!! I think you deserve a BIG glass of wine! Hugs!
I was tearful at work yesterday too. It must be that the stresses on TTC are getting to us a bit. I'm going to try and do a bit of meditation, to try and help stay calm, and going to start doing some Yoga again too.
Sorry, my posts always seem to be so long! I really did try and make this one shorter!

Ellamorella · 21/08/2015 11:34

P.S. BFN for me this morning too. Although I'm using cheapie Amazon tests, so not sure how accurate they are before AF!

missybct · 21/08/2015 11:55

Seriously, 2 evap lines a 18 hours apart Sad

TTC - anxious over early pregnancy possible symptoms?
missybct · 21/08/2015 11:58

Sorry, meant to say:
Top is OPK - Taken yesterday at around 7pm
2nd is HPT taken same time
3rd is HPK taken about 11pm
Last is HPK taken about 6am this morning, and photo about hour afterwards.

The lines don't seem to be coming up immediately, but they match the shape of the line on the OPK (which is negative, obvs) and to have 2 (nearly 3) evap lines seems a bit...I dunno?

PrtyPsn · 21/08/2015 14:07

Hmmm sorry missy but what I can see look like evaps to me... when is AF due?
