TTC - anxious over early pregnancy possible symptoms?

PrtyPsn · 27/06/2015 07:53

Hi,
First time post so please be kind :)
Been TTC for 4 months now (though month 1 we missed my fertile window)
I'm around 5ish days from AF being due but wondering if I could be pregnant for a few reasons: I e been really struggling to sleep the past few nights and when I manage to I have really vivid dreams (the kind when you aren't sure if they have actually happened when you wake up) I've been peeing almost double what I normally would and every now and then I get a weird feeling in my stomach, in a similar place to where I have period pains but it's not pain, it's more like when you over extend a muscle, just a twinge then it's gone.
Was wondering if anyone had similar symptoms? Sorry to pour all this in here (you've probably heard it a million times before) but nobody knows we are TTC so I'm kinda on my own with this!
Thanks

Wow! I nip out to go to work and the thread explodes!
blue you are very much in the right place, my lovely! And being generically Yorkshire... well, I'm reet chuffed :)
As I'm sure you are finding we are a pleasant lot with every symptom under the sun, tons of giggles and a whole lot of support!
godmother I'm all for praising neetie's DH and eating crisps as the theme of the week hahahaha!
ella I'm glad someone has linked you to the acronyms, each to their own but we tend to use DTD rather than BD so you probably won't see it too much here. I also create my own such as DBAFD (days before AF due!) you'll soon fall into the swing of it!

Hi all, especially to the newcomers! So nice to know we're all in this together. AF has departed and I'm into cycle 5. Used special conception-aiding lube for the first time yesterday - not even near what I think should be O-day but good to practise hey?! DH seemed to enjoy it anyway! I'm off on holiday for a week tomorrow so will try and check in but not sure about internet. FX'd for some good news for one or more of you while I'm away please xx

missybct · 19/08/2015 15:48

Enjoy your holiday Annie - where are you off to?

Starting to get despondent and doubtful of symptoms, I think they were more pronounced yesterday and no sign of IB at all (which I had with first pregnancy that didn't go to term). Feel totally in limbo - I was moving heavy furniture around at the weekend so chances are any pain is because I did that followed by an hours walk Sad. I still feel wiped out though, but there are SO many variables at play here.

We're going to get some First Response tests on the way home, if I see a negative this evening when I get home at least I'll stop obsessing over it until Friday Grin - Internet cheapies come tomorrow anyway.

Stripes1983 · 19/08/2015 17:48

Afternoon ladies hope you are all well ! and welcome newbies ( sorry can't remember names and can't scroll down on app - how annoying is that btw!) no sign of AF still today although more symptoms so hopingit hurry up and arrives so we can get going again !:)

missybct · 19/08/2015 20:51

Evening all.
Stupidly took a HPT and OTK this evening - the OTK was probably as negative as it could get and obviously the HPT too, considering at best I'm 7DPO. I read that a lot women get a steady rise in OTK lines on the lead up to BPF so am feeling a bit...I dunno, crap. Symptoms don't seem to be increasing, just stabilizing and DP rightly said tonight that it could a plethora of reasons as to why I feel like I do Confused Sad

Head feels all foggy and I'm super tired this evening - my libido seems to be up but I'm dry down there...Hmm I've got no bloody idea Grin

Ellamorella · 19/08/2015 21:40

Evening all! Just checking in on my new favourite (only!) board!
Godmother and Stripes, any sign on AF yet? I'm rooting for you both!!
Missy, crossing my fingers for you those are the beginnings of some real symptoms!
You might not believe it, but I've pretty much read this whole thread now! Been through the ups and downs of BPFs and BFNs with you all. Just hoping some of you who have been trying for a while get a BFP soon!
Speaking of symptoms, I saw some of you posted your real symptoms with actual pregnancies, and for what it's worth, these are the ones I remember from my first pregnancy, although it was 8 years ago! We weren't trying at all (typical), had just had an ahem active holiday together, and a few weeks later (can't even remember how long after, I had the WORST PMT EVER, had a big fight with my DH (then DB) and just remember feeling v hormonal. Then my period was late. Did a test I think the day after missed day, and it was positive! Remember feeling very scared! But anyway, the symptoms I remember feeling I'd had, looking back once I knew I was preg, was that I had had one morning at work when i'd said to my colleague 'I feel the most tired I've felt in my life!!', other than that, I don't remember any other symptoms at all. Just the tiredness and hormones!
I've had quite bad cramping all day today, like AF is due. Feels so much like period pain, can't believe it can be pregnancy sign. So not feeling v optimistic this month after all. Was feeling quite convinced a week ago!
Anyway, going to get ready for bed now, and snuggle down!

AlwaystheGodmother · 19/08/2015 23:04

No AF yet ella but boobs so sore I could cry. Last negative HPT was Monday so am waiting til Fri eve before I test again - unless it turns up. Feel exhausted but think is work/PMT/the fatigue of wishful thinking..... tho I LOVE your hints & tips thank you. Have a feeling a lot of peeps on here will be grateful for those. Good luck to you this month, you never know it seems!
stripes - how goes it?
Enters Confession Booth :
Must confess after enforced sobriety I had a vino this eve as it's been one of THOSE days. Friend who has been TTC for 2 yrs told me this am that in her experience negatives are never false.... so stupidly in my twisted logic I went for it with tea tonite. A glare from me stopped DH in his tracks when trying to prevent me. (Bless) Figure life can't be put on hold for What Ifs and frankly - I am caffeine free, never eat sweet things/drinks & taking all the supplements, have two negative tests at @2 days & 5 days late - I need a vice!! Or a frickin miracle!!!!

Hope all of you had a good evening

Annie2311 · 20/08/2015 00:02

godmother, don't you dare feel bad about having a drink. Sounds like you needed to unwind and a couple of glasses at this point in the proceedings isn't going to hurt. Well done for abstaining for any amount of time in the first place I say! Hope it helped you relax and you get a good nights sleep xx

pomBearPooPouffe · 20/08/2015 05:11

Lots of ups & downshere. Hope everyone is doing ok.

Discovered that my nausea was probably just the start of the worst flu i've had in years, along with a middle ear infection. Blah. Another week til AF either arrives or I go mad POASing not.

Anyone got miracle cures for ear infections, other than antibiotics*, ibuprofen and paradetamol, and "stick a massive needle in yer eardrum" which i'd love to do but really can't...

yes 80% of middle ear infections are* viral so antibiotics probably will do nothing, but I'm already >50% deaf in the other ear from a different thing, so the GP got a bit panicky...

pomBearPooPouffe · 20/08/2015 05:12

man. Typo/font fails. I blame the fact my eardrum wants to explode...

Ellamorella · 20/08/2015 07:17

That's weird PomBear! I have an AWFUL earache that came on yesterday!! It's something I get fairly regularly, but it's horrid this time! Slept sooo badly last night!

BTW everyone, for those of you elevating hips after DBD, how long have you been elevating for?

Godmother FXd very tightly for you!! Sore boobs sounds very promising! Mine feel abolutely fine, which isn't a good sign!! And please don't feel guilty for one glass of wine!! Ok, confession time for me... I've not given up drinking! I'm trying to stay off the G&Ts (my fave drink!) but am partaking occasionally, not drinking wine, which I don't anyway (although I had a very posh glass the other day out with friends!), but I am still allowing a couple of bottles of beer in the evening! My reasoning is that it's a toss up between abstaining, which is obviously good, and the relaxation I get after a glass or two, which is also important I think!!

Confession no.2 - I'm still drinking coffee!! I do think that one is worse!! But I carried on doing that the whole way through my first preg! And drinking... Well I had got properly pissed a few times before I knew I was preg the first time, so... I am trying to cut back on both, and not actually getting pissed, but still drinking I'm afraid!! Godmother! I hope that's made you feel better!! ????
Am now 5 DBFAFB (is that the brill acronym prty invented? Am doing from memory!). Hate this waiting game!

To be clear, I didn't drink in my last pregnancy when I knew I was preggers!

Ellamorella · 20/08/2015 07:19

Oh dear, and also just remembered that I was still a smoker then, so had been smoking up until I found out!! The night we found out, I said "tonight doesn't count!" And had one more glass of wine, and one more fag or two, before abstaining for the next 8 months!! So there you go... Hope you'll all still be friends with me!

PrtyPoison · 20/08/2015 07:25

Hi all - it's PrtyPsn but with a few more vowels lol
Seems my PrtyPsn account has fallen victim to the MN recent attacks and I'm having trouble accessing it so here's my temporary username til it's sorted :)
Booo to all the BFNs but I haven't heard of many AFs so chin up, my lovelies! Hugs to all that need them!
ella serious respect for reading over 700 posts of our rambling pahahahaha!! And nice to know we are your preferred thread :)
godmother maybe you need to go back and read some - no judgement remember or feeling bad, we don't care if you had a glass of wine, a bottle or a barrel, we all have different expectations and beliefs - it's all cool and you all can do whatever you want, you gotta find what works for you and in here there is no right or wrong :)

PrtyPoison · 20/08/2015 07:29

Also ella it's DBAFD :D and for what it's worth I'm not sure elevation after DTD does anything... lying flat for 15 minutes is what I read so I've been trying that however my empty womb is the only evidence I have lol!

Ellamorella · 20/08/2015 07:38

Prty ooh yes, extra F in there! DBAFD, that makes sense! Where are you in your cycle now?
Well I skimmed through and dipped into bits, as there was a lot to read there! :-)

PrtyPoison · 20/08/2015 07:56

Yeah, we do talk a lot!! Currently CD13, looking at roughly a 33 day cycle according to my app (usually 31 plus or minus 3 days) CM is my biggest ally and it's just starting to become more clear and abundant this morning so I'm heading into my FW about now :)

Ellamorella · 20/08/2015 08:51

Hooray prty!! That means lots of fun DBD anyway, so no bad thing!! Good luck!! Am sitting in the docs waiting room right now, waiting to see doc, as it has been a year TTC! I'll let you all know what she says...

AlwaystheGodmother · 20/08/2015 08:57

Ooh good luck Prty (tho sorry to hear about hack. There's always someone who spoils it for everyone right??)

Thanks for the support all & remember Ella we won't chase you away with sticks just yet. Most of the women i know - apart from The Positive Test Photo Bitch Of Last Month - were mullered at some point in their first few weeks of pg so you are not alone. Says a lot about my friends tho right?!
Off work today and you have no idea (actually, you prob all do) how much I wanna to test again.... is gonna be hard. Planning to clean, do lots of jobs & maybe some online shopping to keep me occupied. Eek.

Ear infection sucks pom - my DH gets them all the time & suffers from deafness too. He has tried olive oil in his ear before but am thinking GP would recommend. Could all be hooey but have you tried Hopi ear candles before? They may not practise it on you if you have infection at moment but is meant to help with wax build up. (Not that DH would ever entertain that I assure you)

neetie1 · 20/08/2015 09:07

Ella been ttc for about three months now I think, been with DH for ten years, married last year but has taken all this time to convince him to try.

Ellamorella · 20/08/2015 09:17

The doc's doing blood tests now. Got to have one now (a week before my period) and one 4 days after my period starts. To test my progesterone and hormone levels. Eek! It all felt very real sitting there, and I felt quite emotional!! Especially as we don't want to go down IVF route if we can't conceive naturally!!

Stay strong Godmother, and good luck!

missybct · 20/08/2015 09:42

Ella - I hope you get the result you want, and if it's not quite BPF then it's good news and you can work towards getting one Grin
pom Sorry about the ear infection - DP gets them regularly too, but I think it's more because he keeps sticking his finger down there.
AlwaystheGodmother - I've drank this cycle, mainly because I wasn't expecting anything, and got absolutely hammered (accidently, and on not alot) on Monday. As we're not super actively trying, drinking is every so often - although I've not drank since Monday.

How are we all doing today? No further symptoms other than my fatigue is causing me to want to fall asleep at the desk. I'm still getting twinges, and had full on stitch feeling last night - but nothing has really changed. My internet cheapies came this morning (super quickly!) and I may, for the LOLS, POAS at work. Just because Grin. DP worked out I'm either 9 days past conception, 7 days or 4 days Wink - symptoms first started Monday with the sensitive nips. Ahhhh I just want to sleep!

AlwaystheGodmother · 20/08/2015 14:21

Oh ella - you and I are v much in same boat. I have another cycle to go before bloods at GP can start but DH and I have always said IVF would never be for us... tho I might consider Clomid etc, I figure it's 'the path' we are meant to be on if kids can't happen naturally for us.
Still no AF. Now on day 44 of my "cycle". A complete head wreck!

Happy stick wetting missy!

missybct · 20/08/2015 14:41

Thanks AlwaystheGodmother

I've POAS at work - because I'm hardcore I weed into my old coffee cup (clean, obvs). Resounding negative really, probably had a bit of line eyes though as I'm sure I saw something. Anyway, I threw it in the Sanitary bin to prevent gossip - I work with my DP (not in same department THANK GOD) Grin

Will try again in the morning. Cramps have eased, I feel about as effective mentally as a chocolate fireguard today. Grin

MummyBex1985 · 20/08/2015 14:58

So I have a question.

How many of you have quit drinking altogether?

I've switched to a healthy diet, I take conception vitamins, stopped smoking and cut out caffeine, but booze is the one thing that's left to go (I've cut down but haven't cut it out).

Just wondering whether to kick my final vice or not. Hate to say it but a glass of wine really helps me to unwind when I've had a stressful day at work!

AlwaystheGodmother · 20/08/2015 15:29

Exactly same as you Bex but have def limited my vino intake. Am stopping at 1 when I have the odd mid-week glass or laying off altogether. Or, embarrassingly, having 3 & getting mullered and feeling like death the next day. I used to be able to drink a bottle & just get a bit giggly I swear.....
