TTC - anxious over early pregnancy possible symptoms?

Hi,
First time post so please be kind :)
Been TTC for 4 months now (though month 1 we missed my fertile window)
I'm around 5ish days from AF being due but wondering if I could be pregnant for a few reasons: I e been really struggling to sleep the past few nights and when I manage to I have really vivid dreams (the kind when you aren't sure if they have actually happened when you wake up) I've been peeing almost double what I normally would and every now and then I get a weird feeling in my stomach, in a similar place to where I have period pains but it's not pain, it's more like when you over extend a muscle, just a twinge then it's gone.
Was wondering if anyone had similar symptoms? Sorry to pour all this in here (you've probably heard it a million times before) but nobody knows we are TTC so I'm kinda on my own with this!
Thanks

Me too! Have this weird low grade pain in my Actual Foof. Wtaf is that about?!

Ellamorella · 19/08/2015 07:47

Hi everyone! I'm totally in the phantom symptoms group! So relieved to find this group - I actually feel a bit normal after finding this group. I'm currently TTC baby #2, our not so little #1 is 8yo (son). For various reasons (not any fertility problems) we didn't and couldn't think about TTC until now. I was worried, as one poster said on here, that I would be obsessively symptom spotting etc... And really didn't want to be in that position, now here I am!! We've been TTC on and off for about a year, but some months missed fertile period etc... Realizing I have a lot to say, but don't want to write a really long post! Main thing I want to say, seeing as I'm on this board is that I'm symptom spotting like mad this month! I'm on day 18 of cycle, and have had tingling nipples, stabbing pain in breasts, lots of cramping yesterday, metallic taste, and joint/muscle pain in hip joints. My cycle is around 24-26 days long, but sometimes get a 19 or 28 day cycle. Would be so grateful to have some friendship and support on here! Xx

PrtyPsn · 19/08/2015 07:59

Hi ella nice to virtually meet you :)
Welcome to our, not always sane, little group! I reckon between us there isn't a symptom we haven't had! We're always here to listen, comfort, rant with and laugh together. I'm pretty sure someone will be on vaguely the same point in cycle with you too :)
I'm currently CD12, due to ovulate around CD16-18 (cycles between 29-34 days in length so a but of guesswork as I hate OPKs!)
Sounds like you have some positive symptoms though so FX'd!
godmother I've come to the conclusion I must always have had an achy foof, like forever, but just never paid attention!! Bloody TTC making us hyper aware!!

Morning...well was getting a little worried wouldn't get to dtd today but all sorted now... Hubby is very stressed at the mo with work and home generally is fairly tense most of the time so getting him in a good mood is scarce, but had a chat this morning..little window of opportunity etc and it worked. So now officially on tww.... again

Ellamorella · 19/08/2015 08:22

PrtyPsn · 19/08/2015 08:25

ella bookmark, I think there's an option near the top to 'watch this thread' if you're on pc - I'm on the app and there's a 'threads I'm on' icon that I find us through :)
To make someone bold just an asteroid immediately before and after the first and last letter so like this ella but without the spaces!
Have a good day at work!

Morning all.
Trying not to symptom spot today - I'm working backwards and think that if I get an IB it will be from today onwards, and I should start feeling more pregnant if I am. I read somewhere last night that some of the symptoms I'm having is from combi-pill withdrawal (oppose to pregnancy) however I was only on it for about 5-6 weeks (including 1 week break) so not sure what to make of that. Spoke to DP about it last night, and he quite rightly said we should stop talking about it until the weekend when a test may show something - he said he didn't want to feel disappointed if I wasn't pregnant. Ordered some internet cheapies because I know POAS come Saturday could end up expensive.

How are we all doing?

Bluepigoon · 19/08/2015 08:32

Hi all, mind if I join (im also in generic Yorkshire if that helps!)? I'm on cycle 3 and just entering the tww, which if the last couple of months are anything to go by means I'm about to transform from a normal, reasonable person into a symptom spotting psycho, a bit like a sore boob checking incredible hulk. Hope I'm in the right place :)

Sylvie35 · 19/08/2015 09:02

Hello Bluepigoon! i'm a symptom spotting psycho too Wink but got another BFN this morning so i should probably stop symptom spotting now!

Ellamorella · 19/08/2015 09:02

Thanks PrtyPsn - can't do bold on iPhone, but at least I know how to bookmark now, thanks!
Sorry to be a pain, but could you fill me in on some on the acronyms? I know BBT, AF, BD, um... But reading the above, I have no idea what is: OPK, FX, TWW, DTD, POAS?? Maybe you could direct me to a place which summarizes all of them, rather than having to write it all out for me! Smile
I'm getting quite a bit of cramping today, and feel like period is due, but I should really be due on 24th... Boo. Very frustrating! Really want to try not to obsess today! But really glad to have you guys to check in with. Hi to everyone else here waves

Ellamorella · 19/08/2015 09:03

As you may have suspected, I am a newbie here!

missybct · 19/08/2015 09:10

Here is a link to some of them - www.mumsnet.com/info/acronyms

I honestly have no idea what BD means though Grin TWW isn't on the list above but means "Two Week Wait" (ie just after ovulation/possible conception, and the interim period between then and being able to see a result, which is roughly 10-14 days) Smile

Ellamorella · 19/08/2015 09:28

Thank you missy - I think BD is Baby Dance - ie sex!!

I've been meaning to say, I'm 38, so hoping I've not left it too late to try!

I had an ultrasound the other day and the nurse said everything looked fine, no sign of polycyclic ovaries or fibroids. But she couldn't see any sign of ovulation either. Although I was about 8DPO according to the Glow app.
Good luck to everyone! I'm still reading through the whole thread. Glad to be somewhere so supportive for when and if BFN comes around!

Ellamorella · 19/08/2015 09:31

Godmother I feel for you! I hope that BFN turns into a BFP soon! And if not, we'll all be here for the next cycle!! Sending you positive vibes!!

AlwaystheGodmother · 19/08/2015 10:17

Thanks Ella looks like we are both in the same boat age wise & confusion wise...The acronyms take some getting used to that's for sure! Great news your ultrasound was clear.
Welcome newbies. As you will see we are all obsessive symptom spotters who wouldn't be without each other for this crazy journey & this week we are mostly admiring neeties OH and eating crisps.

Ellamorella · 19/08/2015 10:38

Haha Gidmother! I live crisps!!
Yes, looks like we are in the same boat! How long have you been TTC? I'm about a year, although some months DH was away during fertile window, other months we lost energy and enthusiasm - still BD'd, but not paying much attention to fertile window.
I'm determined to start tracking better next month anyway. Bought a good pack for 10 quid on Amazon with 20 ovulation sticks, 10 preg tests and a Basal thermometer. I'm even tracking now, so I have full months to refer to. Can anyone recommend the best place for a ovulation chart?

Ellamorella · 19/08/2015 10:39

Whoops!
Godmother (sorry Gidmother!!) and AN ovulation chart!!

missybct · 19/08/2015 10:44

I'm 30 for what its worth and would be my first, DP is 30 too and has a 6 year old son from previous relationship. We've not been TTCing as such at all - in fact, its only been this month that DP has seemingly overcome his fears - he had PND after his son was born and the relationship he was in was very destructive and it's taken him a long time to fully understand HE wasn't the problem.

Ours is a bit of a complex story, maybe I'll tell all one day :) For now, I'm just keeping an eye on things - cautiously wondering but aware that I've been down this route before (also whilst not TTCing) and had disappointment and sadness along the way.

neetie1 · 19/08/2015 12:08

Hi all new peeps Ella I'm 43 ( think am oldest on this thread) and I also worry have left it late but not stopping trying lol

missybct · 19/08/2015 12:21

Don't stop Neetie1 - if you've got the drive, keep going Grin

I'm so exhausted today - trying to talk myself out of symptom spotting as we didn't go to sleep till 11pm and were up before 6am - plus first week back at work for a week. But I just feel drained! Each time I go to the toilet I keep expecting some kind of discharge or AF or something - cramping going on right here!

Got the ol' gaggy feeling too - not full on vom, but every so often there is this wave - then I eat and it feels better.
I've got one HPT, however I'd only be 6-7DPO (or conception, as I have no idea when I O'd) so seems a bit pointless really!

Ellamorella · 19/08/2015 12:54

Hi Neetie! Well 43 deffo isn't too old. I seem to know more new mums in their 40s than 30s. Wishing you loads of luck! How long have you been TTC?
The TWW (thanks to missy for that one!) is the worst!! 6 days to go, although because my cycle seems to be anywhere from 19 days (although that is more rare), I won't be able to stop myself from expecting AF any day from now. I'm sure there will be some BFNs along the way too!

Missy - are you due for your AF soon then? I'm 8dpo today. When do you think I could test?

Smiles and waves to everyone!

missybct · 19/08/2015 13:09

Ella - no, not due for AF - the last "period" I had was breakthrough bleeding anyway from coming off the pill, so wasn't really a fair representation of where I was in my cycle - god knows with that! I'd test on somewhere between 10-14 days DPO from what I've read, seems to yield the best results (or most accurate) - you can get a false negative at 10 DPO and a BFP another four days later - depends on the level of HCG in your system.
