TTC - anxious over early pregnancy possible symptoms?

PrtyPsn · 27/06/2015 07:53

Hi,
First time post so please be kind :)
Been TTC for 4 months now (though month 1 we missed my fertile window)
I'm around 5ish days from AF being due but wondering if I could be pregnant for a few reasons: I e been really struggling to sleep the past few nights and when I manage to I have really vivid dreams (the kind when you aren't sure if they have actually happened when you wake up) I've been peeing almost double what I normally would and every now and then I get a weird feeling in my stomach, in a similar place to where I have period pains but it's not pain, it's more like when you over extend a muscle, just a twinge then it's gone.
Was wondering if anyone had similar symptoms? Sorry to pour all this in here (you've probably heard it a million times before) but nobody knows we are TTC so I'm kinda on my own with this!
Thanks

I know what you mean pinky it's hard to forget and focus on a new month. I'm swinging between DTD every damn day to what's the point cos I hit my fertile window last time round and what did that get me?
Do you think it's pressure neetie? I think OH can sometimes sense when I'm getting too DTD obsessed or when key days are and he doesn't always respond well... ahem, physically :(

godmother yes I have! I just made an appointment to see someone specialising in Chinese medicine and acupuncture for fertility. She is very popular though so booking in sessions might be tough!

neetie1 · 15/08/2015 15:04

Might be not sure...think I am getting more stressed about it because of my age

AlwaystheGodmother · 15/08/2015 17:51

Bex - great news! Keep us updated please - I am especially curious....

Neetie - you sound blue, lovey. Of course it's pressure, but it makes you a nice human being coz it shows you care & are sensitive to others feelings/responses too. My friends OH could never actually arrive so she said DTD was great but no babies were being made as he couldn't finish... she blamed it on years of practising the withdrawal method!!
Hope you can regain the faith!

Ok how do get pregnant. Dh and i have been trying since feb and nothing... Ive just bought ovulation tests..am i going mad..id be happy with just the one (although did want two.one boy one girl).

PrtyPsn · 15/08/2015 23:14

I know it's not what you want to hear rach but 5 months isn't really that long to be trying, sorry :(
There's no magic answer - like there's no amazing diet that will make you lose weight in 3 days and last forever, it's simply eating less and doing more. With pregnancy I guess that just translates as having plenty of sex it will happen eventually and your doc won't be interested until
you've been trying for a year - it takes the majority of couples roughly that long.
Big hugs and stay positive, we are all here for you x

PrtyPsn Grin to my knowledge i've never even seen a pombear let alone eaten the head of one... it was a reference to the thread (I think it's in classics) about Pombears - as is the Poo pouffe (different thread probably in classics).

Thinking I may have been overinterpreting just being hormonal. I've still got about 2 weeks before i could test and find out. Nausea and tiredness have completely gone today - leaving nothing but sore boobs as evidence that I'm doing anything differently from being on the pill. Got through last night's concert totally fine, without feeling sick at all, though it came back a bit afterwards - maybe i just needed to concentrate harder on something other than symptom-spotting!

pomBearPooPouffe · 16/08/2015 00:40

(NB i'm in the southern hemisphere in case you're wondering why my concept of "tonight" and "last night" seems a bit weird!)

PrtyPsn · 16/08/2015 07:40

No way - you have seriously gotta Google 'Pom Bear Crisps' they are delicious!! Hopefully someone UK based will back me up here!!
Like I said, we do become super aware of our bodies when TTC but it's not over til AF shows! FX'd for you :)

Thanks for the advice everyone! I know I'm just being ridiculously impatient ...I just naively thought cycle would go back to normal quite quickly as it seems to have been the case for all my friends who got pregnant as quick as anything! Not that I'm jealous ???? I can't believe how out of control it makes me feel that I haven't had a period...anyways I'm sure it'll happen ...and like you all advised, it can take up to a year so I will take that on board and be patient ???? big thank you for answering xxx

AlwaystheGodmother · 16/08/2015 10:20

pom & prty - Pombear crisps are very special yup!!

Stripes1983 · 16/08/2015 11:01

Prty - fully backing you up on the pombears - love them and now I want some !!

neetie1 · 16/08/2015 11:06

Very odd still on the flashy smiley face day 7 of testing do you think I may have missed my surge??

pinky17 · 16/08/2015 18:52

Ahhh rach, 5 months sounds and must feel like forever. Poor you. If only the docs could advise after 6 months rather than a year. Psychologically 1 year of trying and failing could cause so much stress and tension in a relationship.

I've gone all symptom crazy.... okay, so I knew I was pg with #1 very early, I even said to oh that either i'm getting a tummy bug or something has happened. After dtd like a nympho all week i've got that feeling again. Jittery belly and like a mild stitch in one side. I convinced myself of these symptoms last month but bfn. These 2 weeks can't pass quick enough. Pass the sick bucket!

MummyBex1985 · 16/08/2015 19:15

So my AF that arrived Friday morning has already gone, just to add to the confusion of everything.

I'm usually 4-5 days so 2.5 days seems very odd.

Stupid body.

PrtyPsn · 16/08/2015 20:23

neetie I've given up trying to understand OPK, I never seem to get a consistent result
pinky FX'd for you, when is AF due?
bex this month my AF was only 3 days and two of those really light - Im normally 4-5 days with at least 3 heavy... bloody bodies messing us around, makes everything suspicious!!

pomBearPooPouffe · 16/08/2015 21:20

Shall have to get some pombears when next in the UK Smile.
Haven't quite found what food is good for suppressing the nausea, which has come back. Pombears? Chocolate definitely not - ate some last night and it nearly reappeared straight away...

PrtyPsn · 16/08/2015 21:30

Definitely PomBears lol! Ginger is good for sickness and can stave off nausea

OP posts:
AlwaystheGodmother · 16/08/2015 22:53

I second ginger for nausea too, good shout.
Bex deffo AF & not implantation bleed or spotting?
Pinky - think am copying you by accident, have all those symptoms too plus a day after my BFN & I am so extremely tired, even after 12 hours sleep it's ridiculous. Am cramping, the duvet on top of my chest hurts my boobs as they are so sore & slight backache - odd as never normally have that. Did a 5 mile walk today and was massively out of breath, had extreme nausea in the car when I wasn't driving & feeling generally sorry for myself. Of course am hoping these are all symptoms. Most likely am about to get the AF from hell just as everyone from work is off on hols but, ya know, hope springs eternal. My second totally dry weekend in August (just in case) and feeling rather virtuous - it's Prtys good influence! When to test next? Am so flaming irregular these days I don't know what to think.....

pinky17 · 16/08/2015 23:08

Day 19 of cycle. Cramping gone up a notch tonight, ouch! Why do we do this to ourselves! I recon i'm allergic to my husband. Could be ov cramping but bizarre I never experience it on a normal, "not trying to conceive" month. Stupid bloody bodies indeed!

pinky17 · 16/08/2015 23:12

It's horrible godmother! It's like mega af is about to arrive but no way it will yet! My belly feels like it's full of bubble mixture and i'my crampy all over tonight. Not had much time to dwell on it all this month so hope i'm not subconsciously wishing up these symptoms! They're certainly out to get me tonight! FX godmother, let's hold tight and see!

pinky17 · 16/08/2015 23:16

Ps. Going to test on 28th unless af arrives beforehand. Won't be buying a test until then either! N'night ladies, here's to tomorrow Grin

neetie1 · 17/08/2015 07:52

Well good news hubby back on the boil this morning...twice ;)
Bad news still flashy smiley so thinking maybe have missed seeing the surge for some reason , according to my phone app ov was 14th. Now according to app now out of my fertile period but still getting flashy smiley, do I just stop doing them or keep going? Do they eventually show the circle again?

Annie2311 · 17/08/2015 08:37

Wonders! Twice before breakfast neetie? Respect! I've not done OPKs so can't advise but sounds like you're doing the right things Wink

pinky and godmother, they sound like some good symptoms to me! FX'd for you both xx

AlwaystheGodmother · 17/08/2015 09:35

Oh Annie - I was thinking just the same about Neetie too.... twice before 7.30?! Sheeeesh. Shock Wink

No OPKs here either am afraid.
