TTC - anxious over early pregnancy possible symptoms?

PrtyPsn · 27/06/2015 07:53

Hi,
First time post so please be kind :)
Been TTC for 4 months now (though month 1 we missed my fertile window)
I'm around 5ish days from AF being due but wondering if I could be pregnant for a few reasons: I e been really struggling to sleep the past few nights and when I manage to I have really vivid dreams (the kind when you aren't sure if they have actually happened when you wake up) I've been peeing almost double what I normally would and every now and then I get a weird feeling in my stomach, in a similar place to where I have period pains but it's not pain, it's more like when you over extend a muscle, just a twinge then it's gone.
Was wondering if anyone had similar symptoms? Sorry to pour all this in here (you've probably heard it a million times before) but nobody knows we are TTC so I'm kinda on my own with this!
Thanks

Awww life chin up, my lovely. Now you know where you are this month so you can focus on the next cycle, it will happen but I know it's frustrating when we face this every month. We are in it together and we are all here for you xx

Sending hugs life , it's really hard , especially when your body decides to drag things out and give you false hope ! Xx

LifeIsGood14 · 29/07/2015 22:00

Thank you Flowers

LifeIsGood14 · 29/07/2015 22:03

Thank you ladies, means a lot. I should've spent money on sanitary towels not tests! I feel like an idiot now. Here's to next month..

Still have my FX for you all!! Xx

PrtyPsn · 29/07/2015 22:10

If you don't test then you don't know, it's human nature to be curious and check these things out. There's nothing to feel stupid about - symptoms plus late AF, it's perfectly logical to think it might be pg, we all do exactly the same every month . New thread rule - no feeling stupid - EVER! It's simply not allowed and never true Smile

Lots of hugs Sad it's so frustrating. Especially when you feel like you spend forever waiting. Try and relax with a couple of wines over the next few days then you can go again. I think I may be in the same boat as you soon..... xx

Annie2311 · 30/07/2015 08:10

Morning all!

life I'm so sorry you had a crappy day yesterday. I had exactly the same cruel trick last month of lateness plus symptoms, it totally sucks. Hope you're feeling a bit brighter today.

Hello pinky, welcome! Nice to have a new friend on here to join us.

I'm 10DBAFD (to use prty's brilliant new terminology!) Too early for symptoms I reckon, but I do have the irritating tingle of mild cystitis to keep me company in the meantime. Lucky girl, hey?

PrtyPsn · 30/07/2015 08:11

Good morning!
Captain's Log Progress Report: DBAFD 5, headache seems to be subsiding, a little Googling of this chest/throat heaviness tells me it might be heartburn which could be right as I've got a small sore patch (I've only ever had heartburn before which consists of the actual throat burning and nothing else) hoping to get my hands on some Gaviscon today to see if it makes a difference. In other crazy, symptom spotting news I'm peeing almost hourly and more gassy than usual haha!
FX'd for all those in TTW and hugs for all those AF has cruelly descended upon Hmm

Thanks Annie she def was cruel this month. Proper gutted still this morning but looking forward to a large glass of wine tonight. Looked very tempting for breakfast but thought better of it! Here's something that should make you laugh. Me and Hubby are going on holiday in 2 weeks...for 2 weeks...probs when I'm O....in a tent!! That should be fun! Haha I'm certainly not wasting this month that's for sure!

Annie2311 · 30/07/2015 09:03

Ha! Life, that sounds just about perfect to me, what better way to keep warm in a tent? x

walo · 30/07/2015 09:36

Hi all

Thought I'd post on here if I did get pregnant what it felt like for me, to try and help anyone else who (like me) read a lot of ttc forums focusing on the 2ww and possible early pregnancy symptoms while trying.
It is my first pregnancy so I had no idea what to expect but a lot of people telling me "you just know" when it happens and the like.

I didn't "just know". Even though I was ttc for a few months before bfp. I had the symptoms of pmt I get every month: sore big boobs, nausea (mild), craving chocolate, moody, bloated, constipated. Started about a week before af due as usual. Only difference was it didn't go away night before af due as it usually does. I still have these symptoms now at 10 weeks preg. Nausea and vomiting proper didn't come til 7 weeks, best way I can describe how it feels now for a first timer is like I have pmt at the same time as a tummy bug.

Good luck to you all and I hope it is of some help.

x

Don't you all just love it when one of your oldest mates who knows you are trying for your first just sends a pic of her positive test result ON HER FIRST MONTH OF TRYING while you are at your desk in the office....? Sorry ladies just had to vent! Angry

Sending hugs to you all & sorry to hear some of you are struggling and having a tough time. Am so glad we have our virtual world where we can be honest & support each other. I hope you all have a nice day x

AlwaystheGodmother · 30/07/2015 10:54

And walo THANK YOU - I think you will have given a lot of posters some real food for thought x

PrtyPsn · 30/07/2015 10:58

Awww no godmother that's fucking awful!!! What an absolute nightmare! At least it wasn't face to face so you have time to compose yourself and formulate a reasonable response. big hugs.

Still the same for me this morning ladies! Am starting to wonder that my mega stressful month has delayed af. Tiny bit of spotting again but nothing much more! Am totally with you walo, pmt with a tummy bug is how i've felt and how I felt with dd. Was so convinced. Caved in and tested again - bfn as expected!! Almost want af to get a move on so I can start trying again!

Godmother I don't know how i'd have reacted! Probably told her to stick it where the sun doesn't shine!!! Ooh i'm a grouch today!!! Xxx

pinky17 · 30/07/2015 11:21

Also, one quick Q, because af is normally regular to the day, i'm now 4 days late. I've never used an ovulation thingy so my 'peak time' would it still just be approx 2 weeks from the first day of my next af (whenever she decides to arrive!)? Xxx

PrtyPsn · 30/07/2015 11:31

I'm n a right old grump as well today pinky probs the start of some pmt :/
Yeah, your LP doesn't change so it should still be the same amount of time away from ovulation (roughly 14 days for most people) but a late AF with no BFP may mean you have ovulated later than you think. I would count back from AF making an appearance 14 days - that's vaguely when you ovulated (providing you have a 'normal' cycle) if this makes sense! I have no medical background and only really know what I've picked up from here

Fab! Was having a blonde moment I think! I use a calendar to work out the best times etc but as this month is a bit buggered it's thrown me! Need to forget about it this month, get af out the way then focus on the chances of a May baby! I think my head and body convinced itself i'd conceived so am going to plan a fun packed weekend to forget about it!! (Involving some pimms!) What would be lush is getting a bfp on my husbands birthday (28 August). Here's hoping! Xxx

LifeIsGood14 · 30/07/2015 11:47

Nooooo!! godmother I feel for you! Why would she do that?!!! You are well within your right to vent and feel absolutely livid!

I told my best friend AF arrived and she was all like "it'll happen when the time is right...bla bla" if it wasn't for me being able to chat with you ladies I would've probably reacted like an unappreciative brat but I didn't. Lol I just said "thanks Hun"

Thank you walo ....I suppose with being on the pill and recently stopping I am not as familiar with my cycle. I've turned into a crazy symptom spotting mess! Lol sending baby dust to you xxx

Hahaha carry on humping!! Love it! .....the people next to us...on same field as us won't though! Hehehehe

Annie2311 · 30/07/2015 12:50

Thanks walo, really good to have it demystified. I've always been skeptical of the "you just know" approach. And huge congratulations!

Godmother that is sooooo thoughtless of her. Let's hope being pg hasn't permanently removed her ability to be tactful. Given it's a BFP on her first try she won't have any idea of how hard you've been finding it- hence the insensitive way of telling you. We're all here for you mate xx

pinky, I'm no use at knowing when I should be O- this month we've just done it every other day for a fortnight as soon as AF disappeared! In the meantime kick back and enjoy the Pimms I say.

life- those platitudes from friends can be so infuriating! But that's what we're here for- to provide an alternative and some much needed solidarity!

PrtyPsn · 30/07/2015 12:50

So lunch time sees me sat in a famous fried chicken outlet as I ate my lunch for breakfast :/
Bought some Gaviscon so will see how that goes!
godmother I hate that stupid line and it was only a few weeks ago my friend was saying it to me! Well five for your calm response - I ended up ignoring her!
life sod the other campers, you're in a mission Grin

God PrtyPsn - stop hogging the thread!
Sorry guys, it's a rant.
Someone I work with just announced they are pregnant... with twins. Very happy we are expecting not 1 but 2 bundles of joy... BLAH!!!!
Yes, I'm being horrible and miserable but so what!
I'm obviously thrilled for them underneath all the initial frustration.
