TTC - anxious over early pregnancy possible symptoms?

Hi,
First time post so please be kind :)
Been TTC for 4 months now (though month 1 we missed my fertile window)
I'm around 5ish days from AF being due but wondering if I could be pregnant for a few reasons: I e been really struggling to sleep the past few nights and when I manage to I have really vivid dreams (the kind when you aren't sure if they have actually happened when you wake up) I've been peeing almost double what I normally would and every now and then I get a weird feeling in my stomach, in a similar place to where I have period pains but it's not pain, it's more like when you over extend a muscle, just a twinge then it's gone.
Was wondering if anyone had similar symptoms? Sorry to pour all this in here (you've probably heard it a million times before) but nobody knows we are TTC so I'm kinda on my own with this!
Thanks

Oh Tiggery I'm sorry your oh is causing stress but I'm sure it's just the shock of it. It's a huge change and takes some getting used to - plus us girls focus on it and think about it a lot whereas I think guys are just hit with it when it happens. Eat as much as you want tonight, congratulations! BFP twins :)

PrtyPsn · 16/07/2015 19:54

Waaahhh bug!! Congrats, honey!! That's a long old cycle but an amazing BFP at the end!! I'm so happy for you Smile

Congratulations bug!

It's all happening on here today with the BFPs.

Tiggery, I'm sorry ur OH isn't as pleased. I hope its just shock and he'll come around.

AlwaystheGodmother · 16/07/2015 22:34

Bug!! Amazing news for you, well done. And you DO give me hope.... Love to know how you knew to test if your cycles are so crazy? Instinct or symptoms or do you just pee on a LOT of sticks?! How exciting. Enjoy your next wee SmileStar

Tiggery Hope your evening has been better than expected.... If only OH could see some of the heartache on here he may realise how lucky he is. Sending strength and luck to you x

bugista · 16/07/2015 22:42

Thanks ladies!! Always I've been temping and using the ov tests so I was able to figure out when I ovulated (day 39, took bloody ages!!). And I read somewhere that irregular cycles are nearly always still regular during the LP (as long as you O) - which I was assuming was true of me. So I tested at CD10, 11 and 12 and today was the first BFP.

I also had quite a lot of dizziness over the last couple of days and sore boobs so I thought it's either AF or...!

Only had three periods this year, hopefully no more if this BFP sticks.

TiggeryBear · 16/07/2015 23:25

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for all your support, I love you all Smile I hope that you all get you BFP's Smile Flowers

Chatting to my friend earlier & I think she's put it quite succinctly; "I've thought about having children for a while whereas OH was just coming around to having children someday. And someday came a lot sooner than he thought" he'll get there, I think he's just mainly worried about our current living arrangements, but I'm positive we'll get it sorted.

Bug congratulations! Grin

Fingers crossed that all those with BFP's have happy & healthy babies :-)

PrtyPsn · 17/07/2015 07:24

God to hear things aren't as bad as you feared tiggery I'm sure he will come around given enough time - which is difficult if you want to be all excited now and he's not in the same place but that's what we are here for Smile
TGI Friday, ladies... another working week down but my weekend it's pretty busy! I've gotta squeeze in some baby making somewhere!!

Haha yesterday as well as nausea I kept having dizzy spells, like when you get up to quick, but quite a lot. I ate & drank plenty.... Who knows. Hope you all have a great weekend. LifeIsGood14 · 17/07/2015 13:57

Thank you ladies. :-) another symptom is sensitive boobs! My Oh went for a squeeze and the rest when DTD and I had to tell him to stop :-/ they don't tingle I just didn't like it and usually I do!! Lol but I am not getting my hopes up. I've just cried buckets at work saying bye to children and their families and that is not like me!! Hope everyone is having a great Friday xx

Stripes1983 · 17/07/2015 14:44

AF due in 5 days and trying to remain sensible but symptom spotting is going into overdrive, I've had really sore boobs for about 2 weeks now , and they seem like they have doubled in size - OH would love it but he can't even touch them! Been a bit emotional this week too and felt nauseous last 2 days, but don't know if that's AF! Had a little spotting two days ago but that's it ! Pretty sure it's just AF as think I missed O but can't help overthinking !!

bananafish81 · 17/07/2015 15:01

Wow, it's BFP tastic over here, amazing!! Huge congrats bug, and Tiggery, and pammy! Blimey!! So so thrilled for you ladies Smile

I'm 13 dpo (CD 33) and temp drop and spotting mean AF is on her way. Which I didn't ever expect in my first cycle off the pill, given I so rarely had periods when not on the pill. Was expecting one long anovulatory cycle until starting Clomid after the summer (or IVF if the results of upcoming tests - ovarian reserve for me, and swimmers for him - show any issues). So getting my Day 3 bloods done on Monday, and results + scan with consultant 10 days later. Nervous as hell - think that'll go more slowly than the 2ww!!!

I've no idea if anything I did made any difference, but I'm def gonna take soy isoflavones and inositol next month (after my bloods) in case they did help me magically ovulate :)

PrtyPsn · 17/07/2015 17:06

Oooo stripes that's some interesting symptoms - how frustrating that AF can bring the same things as Pg?? Our bodies aren't very well made haha!!
banana I'm sure the bloods will
go fine, at least you're getting them done much quicker than you thought! FX'd it all goes well and we will
be waiting to hear!

Well tested this morning and got a smiley face :) we had just dtd though do you think that affects it? Hoping not and very interesting if correct as it's earlier than either period tracker by a couple of days :)

PrtyPsn · 18/07/2015 09:29

I wondered the same thing neetie we DTD yesterday right before I was due to check but then I didn't test afterwards just in case it impacted on the result :/ I'm not sure it would as doesn't it look for a surge in eostrogen which I wouldn't think would be present in him and I don't think an orgasm would produce extra? I don't know though, just guessing!

OP posts:
LifeIsGood14 · 18/07/2015 11:18

Was thinking I wonder how many BFP's there will be today as I seem to recall a few saying they would test Saturday. Fx'd!

My driving excuse worked well last night. However this morning I feel like I have a blumming hangover! What's that about?! I have the worst headache, sore throat and soooo tired. AF is due in less than a week. Keep you posted! Happy weekend everyone xx

Londonlady2015 · 18/07/2015 11:48

neetie and prty apols for ignorance but does dtd affect your ov stick result? I was dtd most days I tested and got negative, two flashing smiley then solid smiley but now paranoid that it wasn't a true result and I've missed the boat!

bananafish81 · 18/07/2015 12:27

Absolutely no way whatsoever DTD can affect an OPK result. Clearblue dual hormone measure the increasing levels of oestrogen that precede the LH surge - that's the flashing smiley face for 'high' fertility - ie a few days preceding ovulation when you're entering your fertile period and could conceivably (haha) conceive. The rising oestrogen precipitates the LH surge which the clearblue picks up as a solid smiley - it's this LH surge that the normal non-dual hormone OPKs detect. The LH surge normally indicates you will ovulate in 12-36 hours. It is impossible for DTD to affect hormone levels.

The only way an OPK can be a false positive is if you're pcos and you have multiple LH surges but don't then go on to ovulate. In most normal women the LH surge is a v good indication that ovulation is imminent. And in the dual hormone tests, the oestrogen rise indicates ovulation will be in the next few days, with the LH surge indicating when.

As sperm can live in the body for up to 5 days, DTD up to 5 days before ovulation can lead to fertilisation, hence why the oestrogen rise indicates you're entering your fertile period. The LH rise only tells you when ovulation is very very imminent.

DTD cannot affect the results in any way.

And you should expect the OPK to give a negative result the following day or thereabouts, as the LH surge drops when you ovulate.

neetie1 · 18/07/2015 13:08

Cool thanks bananafish :) It's weird as yesterday it was clear circle but today it went straight to solid smiley face :)

bananafish81 · 18/07/2015 14:00

Neetie I went straight from Low to Peak skipping High too. Just meant the rising oestrogen happened pretty much v v close to the LH surge Smile

TiggeryBear · 18/07/2015 14:54

lifeisgood that's how I felt on the Sunday, I tested Thursday & got my BFP, I've got my fingers crossed for you Smile good luck to everyone else who is testing this weekend.

Stripes1983 · 18/07/2015 16:08

Well AF arrived today so wasn't symptoms of a BFP :( focused on putting more effort into it next cycle thoughWink

PrtyPsn · 18/07/2015 16:21
