I'm around though have mostly just lurked as I feel too unwell to even post.

Southy it sounds like your appointment went well. It's great that the consultant didn't hang about and insist on more tests, which take an age on the NHS not to mention then waiting to discuss results. What tests have you already had? The consultant must think you've had the diagnostic tests so there's no point in doing any more. It's also great that you can start IVF before Christmas. Fx it all goes well and you can start treatment soon.

Not long to go for scans now. My 12w scan is on the 23/09. Not had an early scan so I'm also anxious.

CarrotVan · 04/09/2015 07:05

I have by next early scan on the 11th, booking in on the 17th and my first proper scan isn't until October 15th - well into week 13. I need to get a better sense of dates at the early scan and see if the proper scan needs to be brought forward.

IVF in the next 3 months, southy? Wow! How do you feel about the IVF route?

Southy84 · 04/09/2015 07:53

Oh no merry sorry to hear you're still feeling so unwell. Not long at all Til your scan, your scans on my birthday :) I have only had blood tests, and DH SA. I had a scan about 4 years ago but nothing was picked up. I've woken up feeling really torn carrot and don't know whether to insist on more tests and clomid (which I was prescribed before but didn't ever take due to wanting to get married/buy a house) if we pushed for clomid that would tie us in with an app in feb. I just don't know, I don't want to put off ivf if that ends up being the only option however don't want to put us through it if there's a better option. I just don't know! I'm having such a dilemma. Thing is if other tests/options don't work we could end up not having ivf until mid next year in which case I definifely won't have a baby before my next birthday. Oh and think AF has started early which is making me more emotional... Sorry to rant I just don't know what to do x oh and I'm sure your epu will bring your October scan forward for you carrot if dates are further forward

MissSMartin · 04/09/2015 11:45

Southy that is a dilemma. I assumed you'd had the diagnostic tests, such as hsg and transvaginal to rule out any issues. Seems like a big leap going for IVF when the basic tests haven't been done but then there's all the waiting. Hopefully you'll work it out and decide what's the best way forward for you. Ugh at AF Sad

Miss your nursery is lovely Smile

MsGlitterJunkie · 04/09/2015 18:47

Tricky decision southy I've literally just seen something on the news with Prof Robert Winston criticising clinics who jump straight to IVF without doing the full battery of diagnostic tests first. I would be inclined to think about doing that first but can totally appreciate that Feb is such a long way away. Is there anyway you could get the tests done privately? In London there are tons of clinics that do a fertility MOTs for around £200-ish, might be worth seeing if there is something affordable in your area. That way you can get yourself on the list for IVF now and get the diagnostic tests done privately in the meantime? As I say tricky decision but you and dh will know what is right for you.

Loving the nursery pictures miss you're so organised!

Sorry to hear you're suffering dizzy hopefully it will ease off soon, not many weeks of the 1st trimester left now.

Southy84 · 05/09/2015 19:49

I know I was surprised at the push towards ivf and to be honest read something similar glitter Weve sent back our form for ivf, don't know if it would affect our application of we decided to get tests done privately? Thinking of doing ivf then investigations if its not successful, to be honest I'd rather have the tests before but we've been trying for such a long time (a very long time if we include our previous attempt at ttc) that I'm scared of waiting Til feb and potentially adding another year to hopefully falling pregnant. This has been a really tough few days, just hope one day we will get our baby. Think I may have to dissapear to the infertility boards sadly.

Good on you for being so organised miss I'm a bit of a last minute person! You're so good at being that organised Grin the nursery looks fab!

DizzyMerry · 05/09/2015 23:34

Southy you will get your baby lovely. I know it's a tough journey but you will work through this and will get your bfp. Keep going and keep the faith. Will be rooting for you Flowers

Southy84 · 06/09/2015 09:47

Thank you for always being so lovely merry I so hope so x

MsGlitterJunkie · 06/09/2015 12:07

Yep we will be in your corner cheering for you southy you will get your baby it's a matter of when, not if. I'm the most impatient person in the world so would probably want to get cracking with the IVF as soon as possible. Anyway, you've taken the first step by sending the forms off, it's a start of a new chapter in your TTC journey!

Southy84 · 08/09/2015 20:16

Please please please someone be around... I was just about to go the gym and thought before I go I would use up my last pregnancy test as what's the point in having any as wont need them. Well I think I have a bfp.... I'm literally having. A nervous breakdown, line came up straight away, please let me know what you think, pic to follow

I'm at work and you guys practically have me in tears, thank you all so much for being supportive I honestly can't believe its happened. Feeling nervous as keeping getting stomach twinges but hoping everything will be ok, spoke to my Dr today about my holiday and he said he can book me in for a check up tomorrow which I thought was lovely, I know it is won't tell me much but nice of him anyway. This has been a lucky bus :) are you all on other threads now? x

DizzyMerry · 09/09/2015 19:03

I'm still smiling at your news southy! It's nice of your Dr to see you so early. Stomach twinges are normal, just your body adjusting. I've been hopping on and off the April 16 babies thread on the antenatal boards. Have you worked out your due date yet? Can't wait to see on the antenatal boards. Hope you have a fab holiday Grin

Southy84 · 09/09/2015 21:05

Thank you merry me too, I cracked and told my mum and she cried and I cried. Due date is mid May by my calculations/online calculator x

CarrotVan · 09/09/2015 21:17

Me and mummyofone are on the April AN thread too. Don't think anyone would mind if you joined it

MsGlitterJunkie · 09/09/2015 22:04

Awwwww so pleased for you, twinges are totally normal by the way. I'm on the April 2016 babies thread too!

Southy84 · 09/09/2015 22:25

I'm getting on off sharp pains in my right side, it's what I had last time I was pregnant, I know it's probably normal but it's really worrying me. Maybe I will join you, and see if people mind :) will probably wait Til after my holiday just so I know everything's ok x
