Hi ladies! I am 33 and have been trying to get preggars 6months now :( feels like forever. my partner has two children from prev relationship (marriage) and his ex fell pregnant straight away apparently, my younger sister-by 6 yrs is pregnant with her 2nd which happened 2 months into her relationship ! I have been really positive this month but my period is due wed and now i have brown spotting-meaning am out again. I guess i am just on a downer now... this sucks. I have a regular 28 day cycle and ovulate day 13 (opk) and have sex at least every other day! eating more healthily and tried fertilcm to help. I have worked with children for years and so long for my own. I am addicted to these threads and love how everyone is so supportive of one another! Fairy dust to us all!x

I hope the weather has held out for you Sizzle - it's appalling here, sadly.

Sizzle81 · 04/07/2015 16:05

Sorry to hear that Cinder. It is actually lovely here. I'm laying in the garden (with my cat) my OH is asleep in the living room!! [rolling eyes]

neetie1 · 05/07/2015 09:02

Well turns out not expecting af on 21st but the 11th..not sure what happened with my working out there lol So am half way through tww on day 23, this is teh earliest af has ever started so always am watchful around this time.

CinderToffee · 05/07/2015 13:23

Fingers crossed for you neetie1 - at least the wait won't be as long as you thought!

Babycakes100 · 05/07/2015 15:39

Hey, how is everyone getting on? I am on day 18 and no positive OPK yet. I hope my cycle isn't really long. I can't be sure because of how all over the place I've been the past 8 months since coming off the pill but I think it might be 35 days. That would mean I ovulate on day 21, right?! Anyone else who tests paranoid about missing the surge? As I am testing every morning I worry it could happen sometime during the 24 hour window and I miss it altogether. Although DH and I are DTD every 2 days. Impatient.

Londonlady2015 · 05/07/2015 20:50

Hi everyone,
Just discovered this thread tonight. TTC 1, cycle 1, cd11 and apps vary about me ovulating from weds to fri and one said today - although I haven't had a positive OPK this cycle.
So babycakes I feel your pain re the ovulation thing!

What doesn't help is that I'm having a stressful time at work. Ho hum.

Hope everyone ok

Alpha100 · 05/07/2015 22:21

Hey everyone. Hope you don't mind me jumping aboard. I'm 31 and ttc #1. I came off the pill at Christmas but after a few months we had to put things on hold due to employment/relocation i uncertainties. We are now back to "trying" and feeling much more impatient this time! X

neetie1 · 06/07/2015 10:33

Well starting to have cramps but mild which is ok. This morning slight discharge so maybe this isn't the month for us :(

Mermaid36 · 06/07/2015 16:20

I've been having cramps for about 5 days now, but no sign of AF or anyting else. Willing my body to get back to 'normal' now, as I'm too impatient to wait!

Babycakes100 · 06/07/2015 17:47

Londonlady - frustrating isn't it. I can also empathise with the work thing. My job is really stressful but I've been telling myself that ttc is my priority and that I need to stop letting the feeling of stress take over. You just have to keep reminding yourself that as long as you do your best and they are happy with your performance, there is absolutely no point getting stressed. I really think that stress may have caused my absent AF for months.

Welcome Alpha - cycles seem to drag when you are ttc don't they! Are you doing any ovulation tests or anything? Is your cycle regular?

neetie" and mermaid* - sorry to hear about your cramping. Who knows...hopefully it isn't AF.

neetie1 · 06/07/2015 17:56

Well cramping is still mild certainly nowhere near my usual period cramping and the light brown discharge from earlier is now clear again...

sophied1983 · 06/07/2015 18:16

I worry too. First time trying at 31 and no clue how it will go.

It's so good to share on here so if you fancy a chat, drop me a private message.

We can help each other through.

Sx

Babycakes100 · 06/07/2015 18:45

Ooooh neetie implantation bleeding?? Fingers crossed for you.

Hey sophie! Yes agreed it's great to share. TTC stuff is so exciting/confusing/frustrating and it's a private thing (well for me anyway) so it's nice to be able to offload to others in similar situations.

One thing I've been thinking is how hard it is to actually conceive. I feel like I was misled as a teenager! Plus it's really frustrating how people seem to just "fall pregnant" after a one night stand.

Ow well, hopefully we won't have to wait too long.

CinderToffee · 06/07/2015 20:00

It's difficult not having much control isn't it? I'm trying to stay relaxed, so since this is cycle 1 all I'm doing really is having a lot of sex! I think DH might get a bit freaked out if I started in with OPKs and charting and all sorts right away, so I guess I'll save that for a few months' time if necessary.

mrsstickll · 06/07/2015 20:57

Hi everyone

sophied1983 hi yes people in real life don't seem to understand, none of my friends are ttc and think these things just happen straight away it's good to have people here to chat to

babycakes I totally agree I feel like I was conned, I was led to believe one time of unprotected sex and that's it lol.

11 days left til af, trying not to symptom spot someone help me!

Hope Af stays away for those with cramping

Mermaid36 · 07/07/2015 13:28

haha, yes, i'm surprised people ever get pregnant 'by accident'!!

My SIL got pregnant by accident twice when she was very young (16 and 17) - how?? the logistics of not only not taking your pill properly, but also DTD at the right time are mind boggling....

Babycakes100 · 07/07/2015 18:02

mrsstickll - hope AF stays away for you! I haven't been at the symptom spotting stage yet. Does it drive you crazy??

Mermaid - yeah I find that particularly baffling! When I was on the pill I was worried about missing one but, at the risk of sounding totally naive, I feel that I needn't have bothered! It seems like loads of factors around the whole friggin universe have to come together perfectly.

Is everyone DTD every 2 days? I'm tempted to start doing it every day as I'm paranoid about missing it (even though I know that swimmers can live for about 5/6 days). Does doing it every day reduce the quality of swimmers?

neetie1 · 07/07/2015 18:39

My doctor said try every two to three days... poor hubby lol
This month might not be the one for us though :( although cramps have continued and not been painful when I wiped today I saw brighter red blood so am guessing af will be here probably tomorrow... hey ho

kezaroo · 07/07/2015 18:50

Hey ladies - can I join please?
I'm 28 and just finishing month 11 of TTC. Af is due on Monday so hoping she doesn't show her face.

Never in a million years thought I would be saying we've been trying for 11 months - I thought I'd fall pregnant within 3 months of coming off the pill. Some people make it seem so easy Sad
DH and I are going to the docs next month to talk 'tests'... Fingers crossed we have to cancel the appointment but no hopes built up here!

mrsstickll · 07/07/2015 18:51

Babycakes100 I think I've only just got to the crazy symptom spotting, this month the tww just feels unbearable, can we count cystitis, twinges and 1 sore boob as symptoms lol?

Babycakes100 · 07/07/2015 20:23

Welcome kezaroo! Sorry to hear that, although try to stay positive. I know it is when you are ttc but 11 months isn't THAT long in the grand scheme of things, especially considering you came off the pill. It takes some people agesss to get their normal cycles back and for everything to settle down after coming off the pill. So try and stay positive! :) I hope AF stays away for you this month.

Sorry to hear about the imminent AF neetie...

mrssitckll - yeah I think we can :) it's not over until AF its ugly head. And even then it's onto the next. I think that sore 'boob' and twinges are surely a good thing :) fx. How long have you been ttc? number 1?

Babycakes100 · 07/07/2015 20:24

Ah, the title of the thread may have given me a clue there ;)

Londonlady2015 · 07/07/2015 20:27

Thanks for such a nice message babycakes definitely best to get priorities in order and realise that family indeed comes first. Just completed a big project so weight off my shoulders for now.

Clear blue gave me my first flashing smile of my cycle today and was going to DTD every other day but might do it every day now? OH seemed up for it but has just switched on the TV so I'm now on here! Smile

Babycakes100 · 07/07/2015 20:35

Ooooh congrats on the smiley face (and on the completed project which I'm sure will help reduce your stress levels)!! I think you need to drag him away from the TV Wink. I've already got my DTD in for the day Grin so just on here to catch up. DH calls the ovulation test the 'expensive smiley face machine' ha. No smiley face for us as of yet though...

mrsstickll · 07/07/2015 21:00

Babycakes dh had vasectomy reversal last December, all his tests came back positive. How about you?

kezaroo hi yes lots of people make it look so easy, fingers crossed af stays away.

Londonlady congrats on the smiley, I was going to try every day this cycle but cystitis got in the way but next cycle will try for every day.
