Ooh lovely, camping Smile. We've been discussing getting camping gear to get away with DP's kids over the summer, but when we weighed up how much it costs to buy a tent, stove, sleeping bags etc we were pretty shocked! We can't really justify the initial outlay when we're saving for a house, plus we'd have nowhere to store it in our flat Sad. Hope you have fun!

Hairstylisttoboris · 12/06/2015 09:37

dizzyn didn't realise you have step kids. We also have the issue storing and transporting camping stuff but it's a blooming brilliant holiday with the kids.

Nomio230 · 12/06/2015 10:13

Good idea, DizzyN. The first couple of years we were trying I kind of buried my head in the sand a bit & told myself there couldn't be anything wrong as I was having regular periods. Turns out I wasn't actually ovulating, so those 2 years were wasted. I really wish now that I had been brave & had tests sooner.

Queen, I can tell how fed up you are getting, but please don't stop posting. As Boris said, we are here for the good and the bad & want to support you. I am sure the Dr will be able to help you once they know what the problem is.

Hope you have a nice weekend, Boris.

Nympho, I love the idea of you doing a Beckham!

megarobotdiscoparty · 12/06/2015 11:14

Merry how are you and DH today? Have you got a nice weekend planned? Hope you’re feeling ok.

eskimo Fx for AF soon… how are you feeling about the clomid? Excited? How many mg are you taking?

Sammy hope you’re feeling refreshed today after your evening of seduction!

queen Don’t go away, we’re still chanting for your AF! Come and tell us about your family weekend. Any nice plans?

northern good plan on the doctors. Loving how proactive everyone is being on here at the moment.

boris enjoy your camping trip, hope the weather holds for you! We’re off next month, with my friend and her tiny baby (who will only be 10 weeks old!). Brave or foolish? Only time will tell…

nomio how are you doing today?

Hello to everyone else and happy weekends to all! We’re going to a barbecue tomorrow and it’s forecast wet and rainy all day here. Blah!

DizzyMerry · 12/06/2015 11:45

Good idea to see your GP dizzy. Positive steps forward.

Enjoy your camping weekend boris.

We're ok robot. Visiting family this weekend so should keep us distracted. Thanks for asking.

I just keep going over what the consultant said. I was excited about the appointment thinking I had the issue with lack of ov and low progesterone which could be easily fixed but he wasn't even concerned about that. He thinks having regular periods means I am ovulating. I forgot to mention this yesterday but he did say a HSG would be useful to check my tubes open so I will have that done this cycle and then try naturally for a few months.

DizzyMerry · 12/06/2015 11:46

Barbecue and rain, typical robot!

DizzyNorthernBird · 12/06/2015 12:12

I'm gutted about the weather too, depending how heavy the rain is it'll mean we're limited in what we can do because our days out with my parents usually involve being out and about with the dog. It's frustrating because I don't get to see my parents that often and every time I do see them recently we end up stuck indoors due to bad weather rather than having lovely days out together Angry

nomio I know what you mean, I just keep thinking that there can't be anything wrong with me and that my charts much be wrong, my thermometer must be broken.....I eat healthily, exercise regularly, don't smoke and hardly ever drink...so why should there be a problem? But yes, I can't afford to waste time assuming everything is fine as I turn 36 in a few months. It's scary though because going to GP means admitting to yourself that there might be a problem. How are you getting on with the clomid?

dizzym that's great that you can get your tubes checked so quickly, I assume there would have been a long wait for this if it was done via nhs?

DizzyNorthernBird · 12/06/2015 12:21

Just made my appt, earliest they can do is 2 weeks today. AF is due in the next week so it'll be too late for blood tests if this is usually the first thing they suggest doing but at least it'll get the ball rolling Smile.

loopylou1984 · 12/06/2015 12:28

Ah mega it didn't happen, dh was too tired and as no positive opk yet i didn't push it... Even though I had sexy undies on nude my dressing gown! Was a bit annoyed though as we had agreed eod until pos opk then 3 in a row... And it's our last chance. But he knows it has to happen tonight, so operation seduction is on! Xx

DizzyMerry · 12/06/2015 12:29

Two weeks wait for an appointment with your GP is quite long dizzy. Don't you have a system where you can ring in the morning for same day appointments? Either way at least it's booked so that's a step closer. They'll do blood tests for you and arrange an SA for your DP. Fx all your results are fine. I think the NHS may provide a HSG but now I'm thinking with DH's results they'll also say they can't help us in anyway. Also they wouldn't do the HSG under sedation and at least privately I can get it done next week.

Mummyofonesofar · 12/06/2015 12:43

pixa good luck for today

DizzyN gad you're back and got an appointment booked. Cant you ask for an appt with a nurse for bloods on the right days before your Dr appt?

eskimo yay for nearly getting AF!!!

DizzyM sorry about DH's morphology bu there are ways to improve as other have suggested and some great success stories - best of luck x

mega hope you're ok, we were meant to be at a BBQ tomorrow but it has been cancelled due to the weather forecast.

Going to let DP work tomorrow now and then have a day up the fells Sunday followed by a nice Sunday lunch out.

loopylou1984 · 12/06/2015 12:43

DizzyM - the wait for nhs hsg for me was 4 months! Plus they didn't care if it was timed so you missed a month trying. For me private was far better!

DizzyMerry · 12/06/2015 12:49

Thanks mummy.

I think I waited about the same time when having my first HSG on the NHS sammy so private it is. I don't want this looming over me for too long.

DizzyNorthernBird · 12/06/2015 13:05

muumy I'm not sure what the procedure is, would I not have to speak with the GP first and get the green light for blood tests? When I was getting tested for food intolerances a couple of years ago the Dr would tell me when to book a blood test, I'm not sure whether I could book in for bloods without the Dr agreeing to it first?

dizzy I possibly could ring on the day but it's difficult with my shifts as I leave for work before the surgery opens and I work in another town. For now I'm happy that I've made that first step, I don't mind so much if it means waiting an extra cycle, I'm known for putting things off so I'm happy I've actually made the first move for now Grin

DizzyMerry · 12/06/2015 13:15

It's easy to put things off dizzy so good progress with taking that first step.

£825.00 for the HyCoSy Shock they don't do HSG and the cost for the test is £620 but extra for sedation!!!

loopylou1984 · 12/06/2015 13:49

Ouch DizzyM - that's a lot. My HyCoSy was £450 with a CARE fertility clinic. Do you have one of them near by? Xx

DizzyNorthernBird · 12/06/2015 13:52

Holy crap that's expensive! Confused

DizzyMerry · 12/06/2015 14:18

I do have Care Fertility near us sammy. Completely forgot about them. Just contacted them and submitted a referral form so should hear soon.

Queenbee30 · 12/06/2015 14:52

You're all being very proactive! Fab stuff ladies.

If I still haven't had my period on Wednesday, what do you think the doctor will do/say? Will be cd53 then.

loopylou1984 · 12/06/2015 16:44

DizzyM - it was £425 at care, no sedation though. They were really good, looked after me very well.

Queen - from what I've read on here I think they will do a pregnancy test and then if negative give you something to start a bleed. I had a 43 day cycle once and doctor wouldn't do anything, they said to come back in a couple if weeks if still nothing - so not sure what the criteria is for medicine. Xx

DizzyMerry · 12/06/2015 17:11

Sammy did you need to have a consultation prior to the test?

Queen they may give you something to induce a bleed if the test is negative but I think they may well ask you to give it a couple of weeks before they do anything drugs wise.

Queenbee30 · 12/06/2015 17:21

Thanks both. Tomorrow is 14 days after my tlp so hoping my womb will do its business on cue!

Queenbee30 · 12/06/2015 17:26

I can't count! Ignore above!

loopylou1984 · 12/06/2015 17:44

DizzyM - no, but they got all my records from nhs so could see it was the next step already. Not sure if it will be different if you've not already had nhs referral done? The consultation I had afterwards to discuss IVF was £115 so £550 in total. Xx

loopylou1984 · 12/06/2015 17:44

Long queen - how many days is it then? Xx
