I'm staying at a friend's this weekend so can't do temp today or tomorrow. Pretty sure af will make an appearance today tho.

fuzzywuzzy · 14/11/2015 23:32

Doom hope you're well and that AF has stayed away fingers crossed.

Remember definitely chase, and good luck with the supplements I really hope they help.

I am now cd 13 third high day. And feels like I've been trying forever. I really hope I get a peak this cycle.

doomkittycleo · 15/11/2015 00:12

Af has stayed away so far, but fertility friend recons it is due tomorrow. Have had all the signs of pending af. Tomorrow is 13dpo. Longest luteal phase has been 12dpo.

doomkittycleo · 15/11/2015 20:55

Had a bit of spotting before so think af will show in the morning Sad. 13 day luteal phase will be my longest yet tho. #staypositive

fuzzywuzzy · 16/11/2015 07:47

I'm got another high this morning. I'm quite ready to throw my CBFM out of the window!

Doom are you sure it's AF? Everything crossed for you.

Rememberallball · 16/11/2015 11:22

Rang to chase HyCoSy appointment letter and they said they've had my referral since the day of my appointment and I should have received a letter from them that week. They have told me to ring on cd1 and they will book me in for the test; I am to avoid dtd without protection from now until the appointment to avoid conception in the meantime; I should get an appointment for this month which is all reassuring as I don't want to risk delaying ttc if I can help it - despite the limited chances of things happening naturally.

On other matters, I'm cd27 today and around 14/5 dpo. Had small amount of pinky stained cm yesterday morning so was assuming af was on its way but nothing since then (though my af start cm is usually more brown than pink so a bit out of the ordinary for me!) I don't know how I feel at the moment, other than yesterday I ate huge amounts for me - bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast/brunch; gammon dinner then impromptu curry out with friends in the evening!!

How is everyone else?

fuzzywuzzy · 16/11/2015 12:27

Remember are you going to test?

To ad to my woes of the never ending high reading and no peak, DP has badly thrown his back out (helping friend move house yesterday), so don't think we'll be doing much dtd anyway.

doomkittycleo · 16/11/2015 20:10

Yeah it's defo af, quite heavy. Longest luteal phase yet tho. Made it to. 13 days.

findingmyfeet12 · 17/11/2015 00:11

Hello ladies,

I haven't posted for ages as ttc was taking over my life. I hope there have been a lot of successes in my absence.

My update is that I have an appointment with my consultant next week and have now had all of my tests (I hope) in readiness for my first cycle of IVF.

I'm really hoping we are prescribed the IVF drugs at this appointment as all of my various scans and blood tests have come back as OK.

I haven't read the rest of the thread so I apologise if I've missed anything big.

fuzzywuzzy · 17/11/2015 07:31

Hi Finding welcome back and good luck ith IVF.

Fingers crossed for next cycle.

CD15 and I have finally got a peak, aaaand not dtd in ages. Not feeling terribly optimistic this cycle.

findingmyfeet12 · 17/11/2015 11:29

Thanks Fuzzy.

I've been sick with a chest infection so haven't dtd either this cycle.

Dh and I keep talking as though the IVF will be successful on our first attempt. I'm worried that we're not ready for disappointment.

Rememberallball · 17/11/2015 15:31

Well, there's a surprise not. AF has shown her face again (which I fully expected) on cd29 so staying on average 29-30 day cycles for 4 months now. Better get on the phone to the ultrasound department to book in for the HyCoSy test. Work are going to love me when I tell them I need a day off for it!! I know I probably will be ok but don't want to risk having to go in afterwards and not feel 100%

findingmyfeet12 · 17/11/2015 16:09

Remember, I had my HyCoSy last week. I would definitely recommend taking the day off.

I first had it a month ago when the doctor was unable to do it and that was really painful.

Last week it felt OK. It wasn't too painful and was over pretty quickly. I still wouldn't have wanted to go to work afterwards though.

Good luck with it and let us know how it goes.

fuzzywuzzy · 17/11/2015 16:34

Remember take the day off. Sod it.

Take care of yourself and good luck with the tests.

Rememberallball · 17/11/2015 17:04

Have got my date - 30th at 10am. Told work I'm 'having a procedure' at the hospital and need the day off to recover!! They were fine about it!!

Rememberallball · 18/11/2015 21:12

Hey Finding, (or anyone else who's had one) quick couple of questions about the HyCoSy.

What was the preparation advice for your test?
Were you prescribed antibiotics afterwards?
Did they give you the results on the day?

TIA xx

findingmyfeet12 · 19/11/2015 17:52

Hi Remember,

I was prescribed a suppository to take 1 hour before the procedure and two tablets to put under my tongue 1 hour before the procedure. These are to relax the muscles and also provide pain relief. I did use them on both occasions (even though the doctor who did the first procedure told me they didn't do much to help!)

I wasn't given any antibiotics. I suffer from recurrent UTIs so I was a bit worried about infections but I didn't have any issues in that department.

The second doctor allowed my dh to stay in the room which really helped me. I kept my eyes clamped shut throughout (my coping mechanism) but the doctor talked to my dh about what could be seen on the screen and told us that everything was "normal". We received the results by email that afternoon and they were also emailed to our consultant in readiness for our appointment next week.

Don't forget to wear cotton underwear and take a spare pair and some heavy flow sanitary protection as they inject a lot of water into the cavity. Sorry if this is tmi but I walked home from my procedure (5 minute walk) and it had soaked through to my underwear by the time I got home.

It sounds worse than it is and last week I felt as though it was over really quickly. I had worked myself into a bit of a state beforehand and I needn't have.

I hope this helps.

Rememberallball · 19/11/2015 19:25

Thanks Finding, that really helps. I've read a few things where people have said they were given antibiotics and others, like you, who weren't. I've also read some places advise patients take their strongest pain relief 2 hours pre-procedure.

I think I'm worrying (probably unnecessarily) because I didn't receive the letter about the referral which has the details for booking the HyCoSy etc. so I haven't any information about it!!

I don't know how long it's supposed to take; how long I'll be at the hospital on the day; if there's anything else I need to do to prepare.

I'll remember to take big night pads with me as well as clean, cotton undies.

Will I be ok driving afterwards (DH doesn't drive) or should we take the bus?

findingmyfeet12 · 19/11/2015 20:38

Hi Remember - I live in Paris so it's possible that things are a little different here in terms of the drugs that you're given in preparation.

I suppose that you should just follow the instructions for your particular brand of pain relief.

As for driving - I don't think that I would have wanted to drive after my procedures. I did feel a little shaky and was relieved to get home and get into bed with a hot drink. That said, you may feel fine and wish you'd taken your car! I can only tell you about my personal experience. The doctor did tell me that it's not uncommon to feel light headed afterwards.

The other thing I did was to make sure that I went to the toilet at the surgery before the procedure and took along some individually wrapped feminine wipes to freshen up with.

The procedure itself took almost 30 minutes the first time as the doctor had to make two attempts and both were unsuccessful. Last week took only 15 minutes for the procedure and 20 minutes or so to chat with the doctor and complete a couple of forms.

It all sounds a lot worse than it is - it really is over very quickly.

Rememberallball · 20/11/2015 21:44

Letter has arrived from hospital. Advises taking 'simple' pain meds such as paracetamol 30 minutes before test - this to a woman who uses tramadol for back pain!!
Also says to take 'a large sanitary pad as the dye is sticky' which made me laugh a bit!!
For antibiotics it says that if you think you have an infection afterwards then call GP or go to A&E.

Just over a week to wait now and the hardest thing will be for DH to cope with another 10 days of abstention!!

fuzzywuzzy · 20/11/2015 22:59

Good luck Remember, hope it goes well. I'm sorry I don't know the correct thing to say.
But I hope you get good results and it all goes smoothly.

Rememberallball · 27/11/2015 18:46

Evening ladies, looks like we've had a very bysy week as the thread has been very quiet. I'm now off for the weekend with some mundane things to do like getting a quote for a new boiler to be installed at my mums house; a champagne afternoon tea with DH, mum and a friend (complimentary as the establishment made a hash of my hen do afternoon tea!) and Christmas shopping trip to the local town then off on Monday morning for my HyCoSy followed by a friend coming for dinner in the evening.

Anyone else got any plans?

doomkittycleo · 30/11/2015 08:00

I've not really been keeping track of my cycle this month as well as usual. Thought I had one day of ewcm on Thursday, and BD'd, but been creamy again since then and no bbt rise. Did opk this am and negative. It's CD15 so not sure where I'm at.

fuzzywuzzy · 30/11/2015 09:14

Hi all. Remember I hope your champagne tea was lovely.

Doom when do you normally ov?

I'm 12 dpo no BFN so far and no sign of AF either. I ov'ed cd 17 this cycle, thought it would be like the last with no peaks just highs, but I definitely ov'ed as I was in agony and did get peak. Turning into a very long cycle for me.

doomkittycleo · 30/11/2015 21:52

I normally ovulate on CD15 so looking like it'll be a late month this month. Got tingly bbs tho.
