Yes, we know all about how emotional and hard it can be! All the pros and cons, all about missing Aunty Flo's and wtf cycles with no ovulation, all about children being cute and pointy. No matter if you are five months or twenty months down the breastfeeding timeline, if you're ttc again, this is the thread to join! Welcome! Smile

Hah hah that did make me laugh!! Psychic fertility tools Grin Oh how we need one of those!!

Ava - you see I told you!! You'll get your bfp and I'll get my smiley face on Wednesday!! Our DH's are v close in birthdays Grin

Ava - good luck with the move!! Exciting!!

AvaAmulet · 18/06/2015 16:22

Are they Pear?! Haha! Grin How old is your DH? Mine's going to be 37 Cake

peardrop2 · 18/06/2015 16:36

37!

DH has just done THE most sensible thing in the whole wide world. He's brought me more sticks that will arrive tomorrow. He says he does not need anymore complication this month Grin

AvaAmulet · 18/06/2015 17:05

Haha! Really??!! Crazy! Shock And gold star Star to your super-efficient DH Grin

AvaAmulet · 18/06/2015 17:08

I cannot wait to get home tonight and make a start on DD's playhouse revamp Smile I'm hoping that and DH's birthday will keep my mind occupied-ish during the torturous 2ww Confused

AvaAmulet · 18/06/2015 17:10

...as being at work the last 2 days doesn't seem to have helped Hmm

peardrop2 · 18/06/2015 19:23

Hah hah you must be pregnant if you're nesting Wink

Yes and he's so depressed about turning 37!

peardrop2 · 18/06/2015 19:25

I feel buying more sticks is a total waste of money (and what I've been trying to avoid) but on the other hand the idea of not knowing whether I got a smiley or not this month would just haunt and drive me crazy! Sometimes it's best just to do it and then there's no stressing!

Trinpy · 18/06/2015 19:54

What a lovely birthday present it would be for your dhs if you both got bfps! My dh turned 37 a month ago and announced that from now on he'll be getting a year younger every year until he gets to 25, which is how old he feels he is Grin.

I've done 2 opks today and both times I forgot about them and by the time I went back to check they were unreadable. Must try harder. The weekend is a really awkward time for us ttc-wise because we both work weekends. Dh will probably be home 12.30-1am on Saturday night then I'm up on Sunday morning at 6am. We will give it our best shot though Wink.

AvaAmulet · 18/06/2015 20:20

Pear, in that case I'm so glad your DH took the decision out of your hands Grin wise man, methinks lol Wink

Trinpy, I had 7 months of negative opks (even though AF had returned) before I got my first positive this year. I'd scrutinise the slow-to-appear line and obsess over whether it was as strong or darker than the control line, and wonder is it an actual line or an evap line??!! But when I got my first definite positive, the line started appearing in a matter of seconds and continued to rapidly get darker until it was an unmistakable positive. So nowadays, as soon as I poas I bin it virtually straight away, and take it as a negative, unless the line has started to form immediately. Much less of a headache! And I use temping to confirm opk results and vice versa Smile

Trinpy · 18/06/2015 20:50

Ah thanks Ava. I think mine must just be a bit slow because my positives seem take a couple of minutes to show. Maybe because they cheapies? You would think I could wait for 2 minutes but apparently not! Have just messed up a 3rd one Angry.

How's the house looking?

Trinpy · 18/06/2015 20:50

the playhouse, I mean

AvaAmulet · 18/06/2015 20:54

Mine are cheapie opks from Amazon, £2.95 for 20 - I but a new pack every month as soon as AF appears... Hmm I doubted how good they were for months but now that I get positives and the results are backed up by temping I love them! Gutted I wasted so much money on digi opks during my anovulatory cycles.... Confused

Haha! My house = crèche....playhouse = coming along nicely Grin

AvaAmulet · 18/06/2015 20:55

I buy not but.... Hmm

AvaAmulet · 18/06/2015 20:59

Trinpy, are you actually poas or do you use a pot of wee to pop the opk in? If you don't use a pot maybe that would help the results appear quicker? Confused

Trinpy · 18/06/2015 22:23

Oh that's weird then Confused. I do use a pot normally, but cba with the last one which is why it didn't work. Very weird that you get the results straight away and I don't. They are definitely positive results I'm getting, they just take a couple of minutes to show. Are they the one step ones you use?

AvaAmulet · 18/06/2015 22:38

Yep, one step ones and I use a pot, except for one time I actually wee'd directly onto one, no idea why, and the result took longer to show Confused

I wouldn't worry about them taking longer to show for you, as long as you've got positives that's the main thing Wink good luck Grin

ispyfispi · 18/06/2015 23:13

Just driving home from the airport and trying to stay awake as really need to dtd tonight as I'm so so hoping for a fixed smiley tomorrow! Am totally shattered though. We went to Kos and I would highly recommend it Smile

Sorry if I can't remember who said/asked what.

Pear I totally should have shopped around as my duel hormone tester only had 10 sticks for the £30 Confused

Ava, thanks for the advice re digis vs ic, it was a spontaneous purchase and if it looks like I don't ov this month I'll stick to the cheapies. On another note, I know what you mean about the feeling after dtd that 'that was the one' I just knew when I conceived my dd, we were away for the weekend and I walked round all floaty knowing that I'd just made a baby! Also, the hg I suffered with #1 (inpatient on a drip for days) didn't reappear for #2 just normal bad morning sickness, hurrah!

How do you feel about weaning Trin?

peardrop2 · 19/06/2015 07:36

The Ic's never work for me. I get smileys on the CB sticks and then blanks on the IC so I lost my faith in them. A great bargain if they work for others! Also, I really like the yes or no answer the CB sticks give. That said I wish I had brought some this month just to have another comparison.

ISPY - welcome home! Glad to hear you had a good holiday!

AvaAmulet · 19/06/2015 07:49

Glad you had a great hol, ISpy Grin and hope that you managed to dtd, got a fixed smiley today, and had a nice lie in Brew x

Thank you for advice re hg - I wasn't hospitalised because of mine as I could keep water down, but I did have an emergency hospital appointment when it got so bad I vomited blood Shock I'm preparing myself for the same thing again, as I'm so willing to go through it all again for another DC (they are definitely worth looking green for 8 monthsGrin) but if I don't get it again that'd be amazing!

Yeah, the day after ov was crazy, as I (sorry, tmi) dry up soon after but as there was EWCM and therefore easier Blush I got a good feeling that we'd dtd when I was at my most fertile. I'm stopping myself from believing I am pg though, as I couldn't face the disappointment I had back in March again Sad

My temperature was really high (for me) today and I'm keeping fx I reach the temps I got in March. I temp in Fahrenheit and averaged around 96.80 pre ov this cycle, now I'm up to 97.90! If I can reach the 98's again I'll be a bit more confident about my progesterone levels for future cycles Wink

ispyfispi · 19/06/2015 08:10

Amazingly we perked up when we got home and managed to dtd yay! Another blinking flashing smiley today though. How do you ladies record your results? I really thought there'd be a CB app designed to record the smiley faces but I can't see one. I downloaded another one but I want to be able to add smileys. Any suggestions? I thought I'd remember it all but I've lost count already Confused I'll go back through here later to check.

The last couple of days I've done ic as well and they've shown faint second lines after months of nothing. I know it says faint is still negative but it must mean something surely?!

Yikes to vomiting blood Ava, I hope you don't get as bad this time. It really is debilitating but yes they're totally worth it Smile

AvaAmulet · 19/06/2015 08:15

ISpy, with the MyDays app it has 3 options for opk results - negative, highly fertile, and ovulation. Could you maybe, for your own record-keeping, eg select 'highly fertile' on your flashing smiley days and ovulation on getting the fixed smiley (which you will, soon!Smile) ?

AvaAmulet · 19/06/2015 08:18

I get faint/less strong lines on ic opks in the days leading up to ov/my super dark positives so I think you're really close Wink

AvaAmulet · 19/06/2015 08:25

Re the hg I know I can't be indulgent this time around and take to my bed, not with a toddler to look after Shock Im preempting getting it bad again, so I think I may let my sister and DM know quite early on, so that I'll have help with distracting/taking care of DD early on in the pregnancy while mamma's confined herself to the bathroom vomiting constantly ... Envy

peardrop2 · 19/06/2015 09:09

No smiley again but the second line is a tad darker today. Could this be it?!!! The wait is agonising Hmm

Ispy - I used My Days app too and do what Ava suggested.

Ava - fx fx for high temps!
