Yes, we know all about how emotional and hard it can be! All the pros and cons, all about missing Aunty Flo's and wtf cycles with no ovulation, all about children being cute and pointy. No matter if you are five months or twenty months down the breastfeeding timeline, if you're ttc again, this is the thread to join! Welcome! Smile

Good luck testing pear! Smile

12dpo. Bfn on the IC. Gut feeling was right. Looks like I might make it to 14dpo which is crazy! Crazy that nothing implanted with such a long LP. I guess it just wasn't meant to be! I would have definitely seen a positive result by now.

Ava - it looks like I'm following your exact torture of waiting for AF to show Hmm

So, I expect AF on Monday making it a 30 day cycle.

peardrop2 · 29/05/2015 08:05

What's even more weird is that my temperature continues to drop with my Tommee Tippee thermometer showing the big drops on My Days app but with my basal thermometer I'm above the cover line giving me false hope with the FF CHART Confused This is just more clarification that I am definitely not temping next month!!

peardrop2 · 29/05/2015 08:07

Wow we had 3 BFP announcements followed by 3 AF and potentially mine to add to the list. Sucks! Confused

waxweasel · 29/05/2015 09:15

Oh sorry pear - crap news. So frustrating when you're just waiting for AF to confirm what you already know...hope you're ok

AvaAmulet · 29/05/2015 09:17

I'm hoping we'll be among the BFP announcements this month Wink

peardrop2 · 29/05/2015 09:55

Wax - thank you. I'm surprisingly upbeat because I've done my boo hoo depression stage already and now I'm just looking forward to seeing a less tired and grumpy me next week Grin

Ava: You're like my free tester! Basically once you get yours I'll know it's good news for me Grin

Trinpy · 29/05/2015 10:35

Yay for a long lp pear. This must have been a test run for next month when you get your bfp Wink.

wax opks can tell you when you're likely to ovulate but sometimes ovulation doesn't happen (although if you get a very strong positive it's very likely that you will). Temping can't tell you when you will ovulate, only that ovulation has happened because you can see a clear shift in temperatures. You can use other fertility awareness methods to confirm ovulation has happened, I.e. a sudden change in cm or your cervix.

If you're not getting a clear positive on opks it's probably because you're missing your peak. I use ic opks so I can test twice a day on the days before ov. This month I didn't get my strongest positive until 8pm the day after my first just-about-positive. It helps if you limit drinks and don't pee for 2 hrs beforehand too! If you test at the right time it should be very obviously positive.

I was ttc for quite a while before I fell pregnant with my ds, so I know far too much about this stuff Blush.

Augusthomotherium · 29/05/2015 10:38

pear positive positive thinking! Maybe it implanted really late? Maybe you ov-ed a bit later? Maybe the levels are just building really slowly? Some people only get positives at 18dpo! I'll be xf!
wax can we hear your list of names? Grin

Fwiw I second what trin says about testing twice a day. I do that! Really useful!

AF has arrived. Didn't even get that long LP I was dreaming about Hmm Oh well...onto cycle 8. Joy!

Trinpy · 29/05/2015 14:31

Sorry to hear that pear. At least you can get on with the next cycle now. 12 days is a perfectly acceptable lp and definitely long enough for implantation to happen. It shows that your body is adjusting to regular cycles as well Smile.

peardrop2 · 29/05/2015 14:57

Trinpy - it does at least show improvement. Thank you Smile

I may have to buy wine...I can't though because wine makes me want bad things Confused and this month is all about less sugar!!

Leamice · 29/05/2015 15:17

Sorry for AF Pear Flowers 12 day LP is great though!

I've decided I don't like opks... Or temping... Or ttc!, I'm obviously not ovulating but had positives. Had a strong positive an IC on Monday, but since I've been temping I know I haven't O'd as no temp shift. Sad how long do you think I should wait before going to GP if the no cycles continues? Or should I go and lie and say I stopped BF earlier?

peardrop2 · 29/05/2015 15:25

Am I being a dumb dumb? It's a 11 LP for me right because AF has started on 12dpo.

Lea, have you stopped bf now? I've had quite a few none ovulating months. I thinking BFdoes that to you Hmm

Leamice · 29/05/2015 15:33

Yes stopped BF about 3 weeks ago as really wanted to get my cycles to start back up again... They haven't yet Sad

peardrop2 · 29/05/2015 15:52

Lea - I read that it can take at least 2 months for cycles to adjust. IMO you will have to wait another cycle to see improvement. Sorry...it sucks I know Confused Some ladies are not at all effected but my body takes a while to get rid of the hormones or whatever it is that bf produces...just like when I came off the pill Confused

Augusthomotherium · 29/05/2015 15:56

Noooooo-ooooo pear

Thanks August that's what I thought!

Don't worry, you've only got me on here for another cycle. I'm falling pregnant in June. My body owes me that Wink

eggsnbeans · 29/05/2015 16:39

Hi all. Sorry you got AF Pear Sad was sounding so promising too.

OK I'm gonna sound a bit crazy here, but has anyone here had a full on normal (ie super tampon needing, 5day long) AF and then found they were pregnant? I am a bit confused right now as I had a totally normal AF starting 13th May, although heaps of spotting before it started just to string me out a bit! Then cd13 I started temping and bbt was much higher than normal pre-ov levels, same next 2days (I have 5 week cycles so don't over until d21). Did an opk and immediately got a strong positive, which I have never had before. No ovulation signs so did a preg test and got 2 lines! Shock So very confused as to whether I am pg or have had a mc and taking while for hcg to drop Confused keep thinking of all the things I shouldn't have eaten and days I've missed my folic acid if I am pg, but don't want to get my hopes up and have them smashed! So I'm assuming for now it's a mc. But the waiting is killing me! I have no symptoms at all, well tired as hell but then I don't get much sleep thanks to the nocturnal DCs! Don't even know where to go from here either. Gahhhh bloody stupid body!

Augusthomotherium · 29/05/2015 18:33

eggs that's amazing weird I agree. I know some women bleed properly even though pregnant. you'd think 5 days of super tampons would pretty much cover an entire uteral lining so no place for an egg to hook on to.
The cp/mc theory might be right though and somehow hormones continued floating about enough to be picked up. But again, it's a longish time since the period and if it was a chemical you wouldn't expect them to have been high enough to to hang around.
Very confusing. If I were you I'd be off to the gp or an epu first thing if you can? Blood test I guess.
It would be amazing if you are up the duff though! Brilliant! And honestly don't worry about what you did or did not eat. at this stage the impact will be more negligible than negligible. Grin

Leamice · 29/05/2015 18:48

Oh wow eggs! Could definitely be it for you, definitely go to GP. Totally possible my friend had 4 lots of tampon worthy AF before she found out she was preg, she tested negative probably too early, then came on and did for the next 3 cycles, but she was getting a bump and feeling nauseous so finally found out a nearly 5 months gone, she'd been very naughty during that time too as we were 19... Anyway her son is 10 and fine lol!

Mumof1sofar · 29/05/2015 19:43

Wow eggs!!! I've heard of that happening before so fx that's what's happened to you & there's a healthy little bean growing in there SmileSmileSmile

Pear so sorry for AF. I feel for you.

eggsnbeans · 29/05/2015 21:04

Thanks for reassurance August! I feel so crazy saying it Hmm haven't told DH yet even! Think I will hold off and see gp next week, can't get there until then anyway.

Great to hear other stories of this too Leamice, feel like it's an urban myth sometimes!
