Are you sick to the tits of baby-making sex? Or are you squelching with rabid lust when the lickle hand strikes cock o' clock? Have you already picked Sophia and Hugo as your baby names? Do you want to gouge out the smug eyes of the pregnant women in Sainsbo's? Do you shove balloons up your Boden sweater and pretend you have baby in your tum-tum? Have you already picked out your Farrow & Ball nursery paint? GREAT! Then you're just like us: We are the friendliest, wittiest, gayest, animal-lovingest, cervical-hunting women you will ever meet.

Come on, you frightened little trying-to-conceive mice...come join the fun on the Bumsnet bus. You know you wanna Smile

Ooh purdie, I certainly wouldn't say I'm well informed about nutrition and I'm certainly no angel when it comes to my own diet either! I couldn't advise on anti inflammatory foods but my take would be to remove those causing the inflammation in the first place (so for me that's avoiding bread and wheat flour as much as I can) rather than trying to eat to treat. Those which cause inflammation depend on the individual, but usual culprits are wheat, gluten, lactose containing foods, refined sugars, alcohol, even certain types of medications. Sorry if it's not helpful but when you get time a good starting point would be to research leaky gut syndrome, food intolerances, and coeliac/non coeliac gluten intolerance....

Dealing with bowel issues is tricky, it's likely you've put up with the symptoms for so long that you just accept them and get on with it. It's only when you start to feel better that you realise how shitty you actually felt before. The problem though is that you have to adapt your eating habits long term and when your symptoms don't come out as an allergic reaction and something which creeps in gradually, it's so easy to say fuck it....start eating the bad foods again, then a few days later you're back to square one (I do this regularly!)

I just did a quick google search for leaky gut syndrome, unsurprisingly the nhs website seems to suggest the condition doesn't really exist...

DizzyNorthernBird · 16/05/2015 08:57

Sorry to bean and boris for AF.

chops good luck for today! How exciting! Smile

night I tend to guide DP to the right hole so I seldom get speared!

DizzyNorthernBird · 16/05/2015 08:59

I'm glad I didn't ring clear blue back if it's faffy. I can't be arsed with faff. Expensive opk's aren't any more likely to get me upduffed than the cheapo ones anyway, are they?

DizzyNorthernBird · 16/05/2015 09:00

Anyway, enough of the cluster posting, the streets are beckoning me....don't worry purds I shall take it easy! Grin

Beansprout30 · 16/05/2015 09:05

chops good luck telling your folks, I can't wait for that day. Your story gives me so much hope, did your dh hhave problems with his sperm? Bit nervous for my dh now as I think he will take it bad if his results come back poor

JBoogie86 · 16/05/2015 09:13

ibeka I'm on my TWW also ..zzzz! I didn't suffer a MMC sorry did my post seem like I had? I feel for anyone who has to go through that i really do , I can't even begin to imagine Sad

loopylou1984 · 16/05/2015 09:24

Thanks Purdie, ok, I'll be happy with my 19 then :). So my next step is the nhs appointment on Monday where I need to try to convince them to do HIV test for me and dh ASAP. The private clinic can't take us until we have had the test, and it's £150 per person!!! Xx

ibeka · 16/05/2015 09:26

Oh sorry boogie, it must have been one of the other newbies... Sorry, all the excitement of new folk and I'm mixing you up already! When will you POAS?

Figroller · 16/05/2015 09:27

Yay chops how exciting I bet they will be thrilled.

Boo to Af Boris and Bean

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Looking a bit dull here today is summer coming or what?

Figroller · 16/05/2015 09:33

Sammy can you not get tested at the GUM clinic or would they not be able to pass the results onto the private clinic?

ibeka · 16/05/2015 09:34

babygiraffe I meant my post on page 7 for you, sorry. It said:
I'm sorry to hear about your MMC. There are a few of us here who have been through that and know how shitty it is. We are all here to hold each other's virtual hands through the worry.

bozza and bean, sorry for AF Sad

Good luck for today, chops!

Fairly dull weekend plans here that don't extend beyond household chores.....Hmm Went to the cinema last night though to see far from the madding crowd, which was very good.

JBoogie86 · 16/05/2015 09:39

ibeka Umm 26th!!! Grin counting down already!!! How about you??

Exciting Chops! Grin

Yes the GUM clinic could be a good option Smile

X

loopylou1984 · 16/05/2015 10:06

Fig and boogie - yes we thought that too. We were both tested for it there 6 years ago when we were first together along with tests for everything else, but not sure if you can ask just for the HIV test, will they ask why? Xx

chopsface · 16/05/2015 10:09

bean like Sammy my dh suffered from sperm morphology that was on the low side. He had 4 tests over the course of a year and the results were 2%, 5%, 2% and finally 6% (the month before we conceived). They say over 4% is normal. Dh is convinced it was the 1000mg Vit C he was taking daily 3 months prior. This was recommended to remove free radicals from the sperm allowing the few normal ones to not clump together with all the deformed ones! Maybe it was that but we will never know! I personally think it was the orgasm I had afterwards which I'd never done before! Mayb e it was a combination of the 2!?

Hairstylisttoboris · 16/05/2015 10:26

sammy if you get a hiv test done via the GP it will sit in your record that you've had one. If you ever have a boarder line case for getting life insurance and the life insurance company contact your gp it will be revealed. Which might make you appear a high risk case. It's all tenuous but if you need life insurance for a massive mortgage or anything, it may become a factor, which may make you uninsurable. If you can get the job test done elsewhere it might be money well spent?

JBoogie86 · 16/05/2015 10:30

Sammy I would give your local centre a call and have a chat , I'm sure you can have just the HIV test, they may of come across a simular situation before?? No harm in asking! Let us know what they say! Smile

loopylou1984 · 16/05/2015 10:33

That's girls, will give them a ring Monday.

Boris - that's interesting, even if you have a negative result? Xx

loopylou1984 · 16/05/2015 10:39

We have life insurance already so it won't cause a problem unless we change providers. Xx

ThePug · 16/05/2015 10:59

Morning Bummers!

Sorry AF has arrived Bean & Boris

Sammy Did the clinic not give you any advice where/how to best go about getting the HIV test? Or were they trying to get you to pay for it via them?

I dutifully set my alarm for normal time this morning so I could take my temp and then went back to sleep for 2.5 hours FF has given me dotted angrypubes Hmm I don't believe them. I have had no fertile CM at all. If I have though, at least this wtf cycle is nearer to being over and I can get back to proper trying next month (provided I'm in the same country as DH at the right time, I will be so mad if I'm not!)

DizzyNorthernBird · 16/05/2015 11:29

sammy I've been researching hiv and testing at work this week as part of a case I'm dealing with at work. I've had this very conversation about tests affecting insurance, I'm told there's clinics online who offer saliva testing which you can order and send back in the post, these won't go on your record and wouldn't affect any future insurance applications.

I wish I knew this before I got tested at my local hospital a few years ago Hmm

DizzyNorthernBird · 16/05/2015 11:31

Oh and supposedly the gum clinic is confidential too....

DizzyNorthernBird · 16/05/2015 11:33

Oh yeah, what I meant to say was, the online saliva tests shouldn't be too expensive, the person I'm dealing with wouldn't have that kind of money spare....

Beansprout30 · 16/05/2015 11:37

Thanks for the info chops I will get dh some vit c if his need a little help, he's taking wellman conception tabs, cut out fags, coffee and hardly drinks, bless him he is really trying. Hopefully they will be fine though

purdiepie · 16/05/2015 11:42

Woody, I'm glad you're having tests because I honestly think your hormones are out of whack.

TMI ALERT! What does it mean when giant turds float when, by the look of them, they could sink the Bismark (see what I did there?)

Off to the church open air meeting. I'm not in the mood for short-sighted atheists spouting Humanist nonsense
