Are you sick to the tits of baby-making sex? Or are you squelching with rabid lust when the lickle hand strikes cock o' clock? Have you already picked Sophia and Hugo as your baby names? Do you want to gouge out the smug eyes of the pregnant women in Sainsbo's? Do you shove balloons up your Boden sweater and pretend you have baby in your tum-tum? Have you already picked out your Farrow & Ball nursery paint? GREAT! Then you're just like us: We are the friendliest, wittiest, gayest, animal-lovingest, cervical-hunting women you will ever meet.

Come on, you frightened little trying-to-conceive mice...come join the fun on the Bumsnet bus. You know you wanna Smile

Queen My ferning saliva is extremely fancy - look at it today!! Has anyone else invested in one of these yet? I love being able to use it multiple times a day without worrying about wasting opks.

Pug they were offering scans at the epu?? That is not on. Do they really not think about how it affects us... Or do they not care? Xx

I'm not entirely sure sammy , the EPU waiting room was adjacent to the main maternity waiting room (through double doors) and I think maybe some of the people from one side would come and use the consulting rooms set up for ultrasounds in the other section. There were even some men being called in for appointments so goodness only knows what was wrong with them!! I have to say the staff were all lovely and once I'd had my bad news ushered me out a back door of the room into another area so I didn't have to go back through the main area.

Hi fig ! Well done on producing EWCM Grin

ThePug · 18/05/2015 19:16

fig This video explains how it works - it's so clever and I'm not sure why they're not more popular?!!

spinningirl10 · 18/05/2015 19:18

Pug, I love the ferning thing! I may buy one when I'm home. Do you also use opks or is this reliable?

spinningirl10 · 18/05/2015 19:23

glitteryflange · 18/05/2015 20:04

So Janet at fat fighters said I'm not eating enough. I'm eating to much low calorie stuff. Sad Which is true as I struggle to eat my points.

So whacking out the salmon and boiled eggs for breakfast this week. Not everyday mind or DH will divorce me with bad wind! Blush

Not much happening here to report really. Am at that boring waiting to OV stage.

Thank you for the links Smile xx

ThePug · 18/05/2015 20:07

spinning Well I only had one proper month TTC before I got my bfp so I was using both the saliva test and the opks alongside each other. The ferning patterns appeared more or less at the same time as opk started getting darker. I think you'd want to use both together for a few months before ditching the opks to understand exactly when the patterns change in relation to Ov day but after that you probably wouldn't need both.

nightandthelight · 18/05/2015 20:10

Think it was EWCM pug, it was stretchy which the sperm never is. Is that correct?

eskimoflo · 18/05/2015 20:30

ibeka I am lucky enough to live only a few miles from my school (but in a different catchment area!) and I used to come home every lunchtime to let the dogs out. I did this every week day for years. If we did, on a rare occasion, happen to have a lunchtime meeting or something, I would ask my parents to come round, which they did, even though they live 45 minutes away. The year before last, I got a job at another school and it was impossible for me to make the lunchtime journey, so I hired a dog walker who would come round at lunch and walk them for half an hour for £10 a day, which was expensive, but I couldn't leave them all day, it would be unfair. I didn't last long at that school though, and was only there for 5 months before moving back to my first school. I kept the dog walker on because it made sense. DH moved in with me a year ago and became self-employed at Christmas. He now works shifts and he is able to walk them during the day, so it's worked out well and we are 'saving' £200 a month. Grin I couldn't have them if me or DH or someone wasn't around to walk them or at least let them out; it wouldn't be fair on them Sad What was Far from the Madding Crowd like? Thomas Hardy is my all time favourite author. DH and I went to Dorset for our honeymoon and I made him do the Hardy trail with me. He was not impressed! Grin

Queen I love your posts. You need to post more often. I hope you're feeling better soon Flowers Flowers

Woolly Yay for angry pubes Angry (There is no pube emoticon, so I will do this: ~~~~ Although, since yesterday, mine are more like this: ~ So angry pubes is Angry ~~~ Oh, I'm waffling. Someone shut me up!

Night Congrats on the fixed smug bastard smiley Smile and the EWCM!

Spinning Good luck with catching ov! Smile Good news on your DH's SA Grin

Glittery Minge Hope you start to see some flashers soon! Star

Nomio Good luck for your SA. FX for good results.

Welcome Rachel

Boris Baby bombs are shit. I've had one today, on FB, from a girl who got married a month before me. Her baby is due in November, so it was in the form of a scan pic. I think it's worse when it's from someone who got married around the same time as I did, as I can infer that they've been trying about the same time as we have. They've managed to make a baby and I haven't even had a proper period in that time! Hmm

Sammy Good news on the blood test. Things are moving, even if it is infuriatingly slow.

TMI alert: I can always tell the difference between my EWCM and my DH's spunk because DH's spunk is quite yellowy in colour and my EWCM is always transparent. Having said that, I have tons of EWCM but not sure if I have ovulated since coming of BC. I have had lots of positive OPKs, but not always at the 'right' time. My hormones are haywire, but I do get EWCM at the time of the supposed LH surge, so think they are at least trying! Hmm

chopsface · 18/05/2015 20:48

Good luck for the chops method dizzyM!

Do you know what? Now that I am upduffed I really want someone at work or a friend to baby bomb so I'll have a buddy! Typical huh?

Loving the Angry ~~~~~ lol!

DizzyNorthernBird · 18/05/2015 20:49

pug that sounds fascinating, I love the photo, it's so pretty even though it's a close up of your saliva Grin

ibeka · 18/05/2015 20:58

Welcome, Rachel! Please tell us you are not really TTC child number 10? Or maybe you are Shock if so could you share them round us a bit please

pug I'm sorry you had to go through that at the hospital. Thank God for nice staff. At my hospital the EPU is in the main building near the outpatients clinic so the only people you're waiting for are people with ankles in casts etc.

eskimo that's interesting... We only have a 45 minute lunch so I'm not sure I'd manage that. Do your babies not mind being left only being let out in the middle of the day? SIL has a dog that goes to 6 hours of daycare a day £££££££ and has kind of made me assume doing anything else is mean. The Ancient Lab got a walk at lunchtime from a local dog walker and I would be happy to pay for that but doggy day care seems excessive! You have two dogs, right? Do you think that makes a difference to how long you can leave them? Far From The Madding Crowd was very enjoyable and the photography beautiful. We are off to Devon/Cornwall at the weekend Smile

fig my official POAS day is Friday. I may have pissed on one today for no reason other than I have a habit to feed.... Grin

DizzyNorthernBird · 18/05/2015 21:02

Ha ha chops! I imagine I'll be exactly the sme after all this time being irritated at colleagues who even dare to mention they're ttc, let alone upduffed!

DizzyNorthernBird · 18/05/2015 21:09

Ah pug you asked about DP.... Well mine is certainly forthcoming at the right time but he has passed comment before about me only being interested at that time of the month... So I'm making an effort to keep him entertained orally etc at other times Grin. But when it comes to ttc we're both agreed it's wham bam thank you ma'am....lets get it over and done with type sex. Before ttc we were both quite comfortable about only being a once or twice a month couple because we're always both tired from working shifts, which is why I think I'm finding it difficult to stay motivated!

eskimoflo · 18/05/2015 21:12

Ibeka That's part of the reason we have greyhounds. Contrary to popular belief, they are the laziest dog breed I have ever known, and I have had labs, springers, whippets, and Jack Russells. All they do is sleep and they only need 2x 20 minute gentle walks a day.
We have a 45 minute lunch too, but it was enough for me to get home, let them out, eat a sarnie and then get back. When I was just letting them out at lunch, I would take them for a walk when I got up and a walk when I got in. Now they are older and my DH is home more often, they get one 30/40 minute walk and they're fine. Before I got them, I wanted a smaller dog, but when I went to the rescue centre, they wouldn't let me have anything else but a greyhound because of my work hours. I would definitely say that two has made a difference. I got my girl dog first and she had terrible separation anxiety. She hated being on her own and would chew things and bark herself silly. I got her in March 2009 and then I got my boy in Sept 2009, after the summer hols. When I got him, she was totally fine with being left. They are not a high maintenance breed at all. They are known as dinner and duvet dogs, and they certainly live up to that! The difference between my two and my mum's dogs is insane. She has a staffie cross that is constantly on the go, playing, chewing, licking, play-fighting etc. Mine get tired just watching her! They are so good and such easy dogs. Grin

Nomio230 · 18/05/2015 21:19

TTC would be so much easier if we didn't need men for sperm!

Sammy, good news about your HIV test.

Pug, I am feeling fine today, thanks.
You have very pretty saliva!

I am in Bristol with DH at the minute. He has a meeting tomorrow, so I came to use the hotel's pool, sauna and jacuzzi keep him company.
