Dear all

What a year it's been. Two tryies at Clomind which had no effect. Then our first IVF where I didn'tr espond to treatment AT ALL. This 2nd attempt I've done better and we go for an egg collection on Friday! God willing and all being well I'll have a transplant on Monday. Even if I don't I know that I DO respond to the drugs! So there is hope!

Just wanted to share my news ... I'll post more as and when I have it. I will know on Friday how many eggs they collected and they will let us know on Saturday how many have fertilised ...

YIKES!

How lovely. Fingers crossed. Have you got the two weeks off work? x

BeckiF · 14/11/2006 10:10

Yes two weeks off!

Trying not to analyze my twinges ... so just letting my body get on with it!

I am in Budapest and I had to wait 3 weeks!!! So 2 is nothing young lady!

Fingers crossed for you (not literally or I would be typing like cod!!).

sleeplessinhants · 14/11/2006 20:11

Pleased to hear everything went well Beckif. Tranfer went ahead today so here's hoping the next two weeks go quickly for both of us

malodorantemelly · 14/11/2006 22:37

Good luck BeckiF. I remember you from my ttc thread, 6 or 7 I think. Keeping my fingers crossed for you...

BellaLasagne · 15/11/2006 11:02

All the very best of luck to you BeckiF (I remember you from threads last year), wishing you the best possible news in 2 weeks. After watching Robert Winston last night I now realise what a rollercoaster IVF is...

Also, many congratulations to Katierocket (I really must keep up...!)

BeckiF · 15/11/2006 11:04

Sure is a roller coaster and this is just our 2nd ICSI cycle. However I've been down the usual road for years and years, waiting for nature to step up and failing miserably!

Well we're another day nearer to the test date so hurrah for that!

Good luck Beckif. Having been through IVF 5 times I know completely the rollercoaster ride you must be on. I am sending lots of postive thoughts & hugs. Be good to yourself during the next 2 weeks, and to Hubby also.(we sometimes forget about them)

BeckiF · 15/11/2006 12:51

Don't know what's wrong with me today, feeling sort of numb, groucy, have period pains. Surely I should feel so much more happy and buoyant ... don't know what's up at all

OP posts:
EllieHsMum · 15/11/2006 12:58

Keep your chin up Try not to put down twinges, feelings down to anything. I know it's much easier said tham done. When do you go back for your blood/urine test?

BeckiF · 15/11/2006 13:29

Will be doing a home urine test on the 27th.

Just had a tearful session!

OP posts:
BudaBeast · 15/11/2006 13:31

I think it's partly because you are not "occupied" with the process now. Chin up. Rest lots. Drink lots of water.

Get some good books and videos.

EllieHsMum · 15/11/2006 15:36

BeckiF. I agree watch lots of videos, rest & try to take your mind of things. I can hear you shouting AS IF!. I really feel for you, my heart is heavy. What used to get me through it was spending time with friends who would make me laught & not talk aboutwhat if.
Chin up chuck, if you feel like crying better out than in. If you want to chat out with this thread I am at [email protected].

Have noted that I'm up two or three times in the night for a wee last night, have period pains and almost a feeling of cystitis on and off. Boobs continue to be sore, but that's the progesterone pessaries and I do feel nauseous on and off ... am NOT going to imagine symptoms though!

I had the cystitis feeling too. Think it was the progesteron pessaries irritating everything. I drank lots of cranberry juice which seemed to help.

BeckiF · 18/11/2006 08:42

Hi all,

Was still getting AF pains to one side yesterday which then seemed to increase round to one side of my back! Who knows what's going on in there! Trying to remain as calm and positive as poss which IS quite hard! BUT, we have every chance so I'll be sad when it's time to be and not before!

malodorantemelly · 18/11/2006 10:08

Still thinking of you. I have just been through the am I aren't I thing for the last 2 weeks, but not quite in your situation, it is really hard not to imagine every feeling and twinge could be a good or bad thing. As the others have said just tyr to keep yourself busy, this is such a good chance for you, have my fingers crossed....

BeckiF · 19/11/2006 08:27

Woke this morning and for some bizarre reason took my BBT which I haven't done for months. Was expecting i to be MUCH higher. Have no convinvced myself it's not worked

sleeplessinhants · 19/11/2006 19:33

Just back from a weekend away with the girls, lay in reading papers cooked breakfast lovely. No booze though, suprised myself by not missing it though. Have had the odd twinge on left side but trying not to think too much of it 9 days to go

Azure · 19/11/2006 19:52

BeckiF I remember you from the TTC board. Best of luck - I really hope this works for you.

BeckiF · 20/11/2006 17:23

Made the mistake of taking a pregnancy test today, just 7 days after the transfer and of course got a BFN ... I'm SO stoopid

OP posts:
BudaBeast · 20/11/2006 17:27

Why????????????????????

No more tests! Think positive thoughts. Relax (!)

katierocket · 20/11/2006 17:29

Oh Becki you poor thing. I really understand how hideous it is. FWIW I was absolutely and utterly convinced that it hadn't worked as I had awful AF pains two days before due date and they were exactly the same as the pains I have with period (and having tried for 2 years I knew them well). But it obviously wasn't AF pains in my case so you just don't know. I did a test 4 days before my due date (I just couldn't help myself) and it was really faint positive but then I tortured myself with the fact that it could have been a left over from the HCG injection.

Oh well, another day has gone, not too long for you now.

BeckiF · 20/11/2006 18:22

Yes I KNOW I was stupid doing it! At least I know that a positive will BE a positive and not left over from the shot ...

And yes, another day almost gone ... just 7 more sleeps until I can test.
