Nolly we are here to keep you sane when it's just you and the swarthy builders! I bet you can't wait for it to be finished and you can settle in! Is it a big job you're having done?

Gill you say mam too! Grin how are you feeling? Did your FC do a blood test? dying to know if it's twinz I will hope for a super quick uneventful May for you.

Wild you give fantastic advice, you should be called wise sage berry. What you said to Lucie was spot on. I feel like sometimes we can get so caught up in every tiny detail because it's so important to us. Lucie I'd echo the hypno/meditation tracks - they've been fantastic for helping me cope. When is your official otd? Also Wild are you drinking enough water? You'll need at least 2.5ltrs a day if not more to avoid the detox headaches. I have a lovely strawberry smoothie recipe if you want it.

Tiger pompoming for your little cubs! I hope they are happily purring away to Barry. I think getting away for a few days is a fantastic idea and hopefully your 2ww will fly. How are you feeling now?

Spare which ever option you choose I have everything crossed for you. And hats off to all of you triathletes! Barking do you have your next appointment through yet?

Happy when is your FET?

Smidge are you having any different drugs this time?

Minx great news that you have your open evening and first appointment! Let us know how you get on.

How's everyone else? Happy bank holiday weekend berries!

I'm coming to the end of the pill now woohoo! So will hopefully start SP IVF in the next couple of weeks. If it doesn't work I'm thinking of trying to get a new job as I'm really wanting a change. I don't know how that would fit with IVF but I can't wait indefinitely. Feeling all sorts of stressed these days about work.

happylass · 01/05/2015 21:42

Tiger 100% get away after ET. I love the Gower and am fortunate enough to live not too far away. Might head down there myself on Monday. Oh and I've just made my first batch of Sweet Potato Brownies - very nice as a healthy treat Smile
Beaky ET is Tuesday all being well with the thaw. Great to hear you're starting IVF shortly. With regards to the job, just go for it. We can't put our lives on hold indefinitely.
Hope everyone else is ok. Have a fab Bank Hol all.

Thanks for all the messages, I will read back over the weekend and provide a more detailed response just not had a great day today.

Beaky my OTD is on Wednesday. Have blood test on Tuesday. I have zita west and the ivf companion cd which have been good. Helped prep me for egg collection.

happylass · 01/05/2015 22:39

Thinking of you Lucie it really is the most difficult of times. Everyone worries about stabbing and EC before IVF but they are nothing compared to the mental torture. Try to relax and treat yourself to something nice over the weekend. Take care Flowers

Nolly I only learnt how to do front crawl this year!!! I've not even swum outside yet!! Hmm DH bought me a wetsuit for my anniversary present, but I think I'm going to take it to Majorca for it's first outing, the local outdoor swimming round here is still less than 10', too cold for me!!

We should have a cycling meet up with a lovely cafe stop!! Grin

Wild have you read the book Stuffocation? All about getting the 'stuff' out of your life.

tiger all sounding excellent! Grin I haven't contacted Lucy since the 2nd mc, before the iui and ivf. Might drop her a line, it would be interesting to get her take on my current situation!
Did you decide to go away?

beaky my next appointment will be for the biopsy, so I need to call when I ov next cycle, but I have a feeling the crucial window will be while we are away for a wedding Sad. So probably not until June.

Lucie thinking of you Thanks

Jelliebabe2 · 02/05/2015 08:59

Tiger! So thrilled for you! Sounds like the cubs are doing marvellously. I'll be thinking of you all of Monday!

Happy! All the berry best for Tuesday x

HampshireBlues · 02/05/2015 09:55

Found you! I go away with work and a whole new thread is started. Plannin on a proper catch up this afternoon (and I will be taking notes) but wanted to bookmark and suss out our new home Smile

WildflowerMarmalade · 02/05/2015 11:09

I will check out Stuffocation Barking, thanks for the recommendation. The book which is actually behind all my deck uttering is The Life-Changing Magic Of Tidying by Marie Kondo. She is completely bonkers but in a very sweet way - like this...

Lucie - sorry you had a bad time yesterday, that's something you could do without during the 2ww, or maybe the 2ww was to blame. At least it's Saturday today and you can relax.

wise sage Berry - Beaky you flatter me. You have completely hit the nail on the head with your suggestion to drink more water. I've been drinking lots of herbal tea but had dropped back on plain old water. Thank you for pointing out that I need more water to actually detox properly, that's very helpful. And I will take your smoothie recipe I you're offering.

Also Beaky how was your trip?

Welcome home HB things have been moving very quickly around here, you have some catching up to do...

Nolly whinge away, my dear. It's what we're here for. Am I right in thinking your DH is off to Africa? Envy

I spoke to a nurse at the FC yesterday to confirm details of my FET cycle. The plan is to have the hysteroscopy and D&C this coming month. Then do a bit of down reg/ ovary calming on Norethisterone and then we should be ready to go for the transfer in June. I have asked for my consultant to go over that plan as it was all decided last year, but it suddenly all seems very real.

Smidge001 · 02/05/2015 11:34

Ooh Wild I like Marie Kondo too...

This is what I did to MrSmidge's T-shirt drawer... (He used to need 2)

Candle smugglers of the world unite! The Berries have loaded up the charabanc and have Barry on repeat. Destination BFP (via the pouch of Douglas)
WildflowerMarmalade · 02/05/2015 12:22

That's it Smidge that's what my drawers are like now. There's so much more room for everything.

And can I just clarify that i've been decluttering - rather than 'deck uttering' whatever that may be.

lucieloos · 02/05/2015 19:28

Tested again 8dp5dt with a frer, huge bfn, absolutely nothing. I'm calling it a day now. Blood test in a couple of days to confirm and then I can come off these horrible crinone gels. They are making me so tired I can barely function. Thanks for all your support. We are obviously very disappointed but will hopefully try again in the summer.

nolly3 · 02/05/2015 20:27

lucie OTDs are calculated on the basis of when HCG levels are likely to be detectable. Don't rule anything out just yet.... 8dpt is pretty early :)

tigerdog · 02/05/2015 20:43

sorry to hear that lucie. Flowers Are you sure that's it at only 8 days post transfer? My clinic gives an OTD of 2 weeks from transfer regardless of whether they are 5 day or 2 day. Hope you're doing ok, and remember the berries are here for you.

nolly we'll look after you whilst you're in self pity mode, don't worry. I hope you're enjoying your last day with Mr Nol. Make sure you have plenty of treats for yourself lined up. For me, it would be good books and some horrendously expensive chocolates from the Selfridges food hall when I'm not on the wine Was it you reading the Cazelet Chronicles a while ago? If so, then I would recommend checking out Persphone Books - they have some great books by forgotten women writers along the domestic drama type theme. I've only read a couple so far, but I've really enjoyed them. If that wasn't you, then ignore me, my memory is terrible at the moment!

Nice work on the de-cluttering wild and smidge, I'm impressed!

smidge have you made a decision about the FET?

barking I hope the dates work out for you. Definitely worth contacting Lucy, she seems very helpful. We've not yet decided about going away as the weather is looking so dire, I think we will play it by ear and be very last minute. Annoyingly we need to make sure we are back on Thurs to vote, so that limits when we can be away.

Hi HB hope you're getting on ok.

beaky hope you're having a chilled out weekend after the stress at work. Changing jobs sounds like a plan fingers crossed it is one that you won't need and exciting that you are starting SP soon. How long does short protocol take from start to finish?

wild that sounds quite full on and very thorough. June is only weeks away too. Exciting. Are you feeling more back to normal and detoxed?

happy we'll only be a day apart! I'm really hoping my cubs are doing ok at the lab. Looking forward to having one back onboard.

Transfer is booked in for Monday afternoon, acupuncture session booked beforehand. In the meantime, just trying to eat healthily and drink lots of water, plenty of walks and sleep! I'm so tired still, have had to have a nap every day since I've been off work.

lucieloos · 02/05/2015 20:49

I honestly can't find a story of hardly anybody who has tested negative at 8dp5dt with a frer and got good news afterwards. There are the odd one or two late implanters but they seem very few and far between. As both of our blasts were pretty much fully hatched they should have started implanting straight away. I'm sure the clinics only give dates as long as that as yes there will be the one or two who do implant late so they have to be absolutely certain they have caught everyone before stopping progesterone but it really isn't that common place to test negative this late and still get a bfp Hmm

beakybeak · 02/05/2015 22:36

Lucie sorry it's a bfn. Just remember they are the experts and that's why we do what they tell us. Even if this hasn't worked, you will be ok Flowers. Be kind to yourself in the meantime.

Happy great news your FET is so soon! Will get the fire pompoms out to warm them up for Tuesday!

Tiger could you do a B&B that will take Tdog as well? That way you'll still have a little break together. The fire pompoms and fet high kicks will be out on Monday. I think with SP you stim for around 10/12 days then EC and ET as usual then 2ww. So no DR but I've been on the pill for 3 weeks anyway which also meant we couldn't try last cycle as I had to start it mid cycle!

Wild I'll watch that later but wow Smidge that drawer looks so organised! For the smoothie I do half a small tub of strawberries (you can add a few more depending on what you like) a small banana, a small handful of spinach leaves, a small cup of almond milk and a small cup of fresh orange (or you can juice your own to add!) then all blended up til smooth. It's lovely and really quite filling. You can do it the night before and it keeps really well overnight in the fridge. I can't believe you're almost at your transfer cycle, your plan sounds great too, I always have to double check things when it is agreed so far in advance.

Barking I hope your cycle falls right so you can get the biopsy done sooner rather than later. I'll watch all the dogs while you berries do the cycling!

Nolly get yourself a lovely stock of red wine wine in, that will help pass the time! How long is MrN away?

HB so pleased you found the thread! What's next for you?

We still need Lumen back if you are lurking! Anyone else lurking?

sparechange · 03/05/2015 11:01

Will have a proper catch up later but just wanted to give some virtual hugs and Flowers to Lucie.
Be kind to yourself x

lucieloos · 03/05/2015 12:01

Thank you spare, it's very hard isn't it. We are just crushed at the moment. DH cried and said he felt so positive about it and can't understand why nothing will work for us. It just broke my heart. I'm so worried it will never work for us at the momentHmm

WildflowerMarmalade · 03/05/2015 17:32

So sorry to hear your news Lucie - it's very tough but don't lose heart of the first go fails.

lucieloos · 03/05/2015 17:49

Thanks wild so tough but we will go again in a couple of months or so but I just really hope it works for us at some point!

Gillster · 03/05/2015 20:48

Sorry to hear your news Lucie. It's just so unfair when you put so much into something and get nothing in return. Look after each other and give yourselves plenty of time to dust yourselves down and decide what is next. X

beakybeak · 03/05/2015 23:52

Flowers and a sneaky hug Lucie

Tiger very best of berry luck for ET, I'll be thinking of you and the cubs, hoping it all goes smoothly.

happylass · 04/05/2015 06:42

Lucie I'm so very sorry. It really is soul destroying and a real low point when it doesn't work out but I promise you will feel better about things. Just go easy on yourselves and indulge in lots of treats. We had a lovely day out after our first failure and a weekend away after our second. We also booked holidays after both BFNs

OP posts:
barkingtreefrog · 04/05/2015 08:50

I'm sorry, Lucie, my DH was the same. He thought the ivf would work and when it didn't he was utterly deflated, he now thinks it's all over and there's no point throwing more money at it Sad.

I had a horrible time on Saturday, turned up at my mate's house for a cycling weekend (DH and a mate were cycling there and I had thought would be arriving at around the same time but I got there first) and there were two small children there. I was totally side swiped, wasn't expecting it and it hit me. Ended up leaving without even taking my coat off, saying I was off to get some food and walk the dog. Ended up walking the dog along the river, sobbing, not knowing what to do with myself. My mate sent a text asking if I was lost. She then called. I had to explain that I just couldn't handle it and I would stay out with the dog until DH arrived. I felt like a complete idiot but I completely lost it, not cried like that for ages. And just when I thought I was starting to hold it all together again Sad .

Happy bank holiday Monday happy! Enjoy the mumbles! Smile

Gillster · 04/05/2015 09:00

Good luck for transfer today Tiger. Will be thinking of you and the cubs and keeping everything crossed for a successful outcome.

Sorry you had such a horrible day on Saturday Barking. I found that if I was prepared for situations then I could get through them but any unexpected stuff just felt like a kick in the guts and knocked me for 6.

Hope you have a nice day out and that you find it good preparation for tomorrow. Will they take your frostie out tomorrow morning and pop it back in the afternoon? How long are you taking off work?

Gillster · 04/05/2015 09:02

That last para was directed at Happy!
