not to be a misery guts but could I make a suggestion that we don't discuss abortion on this thread? it's an emotive subject that people have strong views on and I don't think it has its place here :)

DizzyMerry · 30/04/2015 22:07

Your friend is an idiot miss she should either keep her mouth shut or think before she speaks. She is obviously ttc but doesn't want to say and just covering up by saying otherwise.

Parsnip I agree a 10 day lp is short and should be looked into.

oddlyinpatient · 30/04/2015 22:13

miis that's terrible

carrot I agree - I love a Becks blue! Yummy!
maybe perhaps stick to 'vodka' and coke or 'vodka' and tonic. Most people don't notice!

mumtoason I have 34 days cycles. I tend to ovulate anywhere between CD18 and 25. I agree with parsnip though. Temping is the best thing I've ever done. Opks are really unreliable imo. I have weird cycles so maybe they work better for more predictable cycles. IC opk's were only negative, CB showed high CD 13, 14. Then high again CD 19, 20and peak CD 21,22. I actually ovulated (according to my temps) CD18. So if I'd be relying on opks I'd have completely missed ovulation.

Evening ladies!!

Thank you for the new bus night! Smile

I've been a bit preoccupied with work after my crap day yesterday, but much better now Smile thanks for thinking of me dizzym SmileFlowers

Oh my we have a lot of newbies - excellent!! grandhighwitch, Carlton, faybelline, oddly, lazy daisy, and anyone I've missed - welcome to you all! Smile have some inaugural cake Cake

coffee how are you getting on lovely? Has it sunk in a bit more now?? and how are you carrot?

pulpi yay for feeling optimistic! Best way to be. And I hope those are symptoms Wink

dizzym you dtd on the day of ovulation so you're still in with a good chance, fx this is your month. And as you say, you've learnt so much from starting to temp which is great should you need to TTC next month.

How was first day of temping miis?? I've got 2 dots now on my chart - whoop whoop! Haha Grin

boris lovely are you not feeling much better then? I hope you're not having to run around too much after the visitors, look after yourself Flowers

Totally agree with the Facebook thing, it feels like my entire friends list is super fertile and popping out babies left, right and centre!! I try and scroll through my newsfeed quickly now!

loopylou1984 · 30/04/2015 22:40

On my news feed right now I have a pic of a newborn, a check in at the labour ward, a pic of a personalised baby grow for their unborn child and a photo of 'my two beautiful girls' - I am not kidding :(

Welcome to the newbies :) Xx

MiissMartiin · 30/04/2015 22:49

woolly FF wont accept my temp as its in °C and my FF is in °F but i have no idea how to change it Sad .. yay! for youu though Grin . I'll have to manually fill my chart instead .. grrr

oddlyinpatient · 30/04/2015 22:57

miis are you using the ff phone app?

If so, press 'more' (at the top), 'settings' 'general charting settings' and scroll to the bottom. You can change to celcius there.

Woolly84 · 30/04/2015 23:00

Yep you can change themmiis like oddly has described! x

Woolly84 · 30/04/2015 23:00

Oh sammy, it sucks doesn't it Sad

loopylou1984 · 30/04/2015 23:06

It's actually become a bit of a joke now - dh and I have to laugh or we'd be crying every day!
Oddly I don't mind the births and baby pics as much as the bfp announcements and bumps. Xx

Woolly84 · 30/04/2015 23:11

I know what you mean sammy, the bfps/scan pics/ bumps affect me more for some reason too x

DizzyMerry · 30/04/2015 23:27

Woolly pleased that today has been a better day for you. Yay for two dots but just wait until you see past ovulation. It's so satisfying!

Sammy I used to find bfp's and bumps harder to deal with when we were ttc DD. It's rubbish but you will soon have your own announcement to make.

Miis hope you manage to change the settings. I struggled at first with that too but found my way around after a while.

Woolly84 · 30/04/2015 23:31

Thanks dizzym, slightly scared if it doesn't show ovulation now! Oh must look up that book you mentioned xx

Woolly84 · 30/04/2015 23:37

All ordered dizzy!!

DizzyMerry · 30/04/2015 23:49

It's great that you've ordered the book woolly it will help you understand everything better. I was so worried about ov not being confirmed but honestly if you have the usual ov symptoms you will be fine. I only have ewcm and only felt ov pain last cycle but none this time.

Woolly84 · 30/04/2015 23:54

Thanks dizzym, fx! Yes looking forward to reading it I'm sure I'll learn lots! Smile

Night night ladies, bedtime for me xx

sarah1391 · 01/05/2015 00:18

Just wanted to say hi :) my partner works away and will be back over the weekend so for the first time we r goin to ttc :) fingers crossed...beginners luck hopefully?!

FlatWhiteToGo · 01/05/2015 01:37

Miis that's an appalling attitude. I won't say anything else as I agree with Parsnip that it can be an emotive topic and best avoided...but I'm still shocked that someone would think that (or even say that for effect)...especially as contraception is so easy to get and use (with a hell of a lot less trauma!).

Anyway, Flatwhite is now shutting her large gob Smile Smile Smile. Although apparently not, as I've turned into a crazy-mad-woman-eating-machine today...makes mental note to get jaw wired

FlatWhiteToGo · 01/05/2015 01:38

Hi Sarah - nice to meet you and good luck TTC Smile x

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 01/05/2015 06:20

Welcome Sarah! Hope you're not on the bus for too long. Do you have stats?

wishiwaspregnant · 01/05/2015 06:30

Morning all! Up at the crack of dawn to take my first temp. 36.25. So how hot does one get? I'm assuming this is a very low one. So I'm cd12 today according to FF. Excited to see what happens with this temping business! I agree with everyone, baby announcements, bumps walking around everywhere I look... But I think it's more likely that we are all a bit sensitive at the moment. It's like when you really want something it seems like you are the only person in the world who doesn't have it!!! My SIL is expecting twins soon. I'm excited but obviously very jel too. I think these feelings are all normal

sarah1391 · 01/05/2015 06:38

Thanks FlatWhite and MaybeMrsMum
Sorry dont know what u mean by stats? (only joined mumsnet yesterday!)

loopylou1984 · 01/05/2015 06:50

Welcome Sarah Smile

Wish - that's pretty normal for my pre ov temps, mine came crashing down to 36.17 this morning and AF is now here. Going up to a max of about 36.8 after ov. I can attach my chart if you like? Xx

wishiwaspregnant · 01/05/2015 06:51

I'd love to see it sammy if you don't mind sharing? Thanks x

loopylou1984 · 01/05/2015 06:51
