I was feeling positive at the start of my cycle then we had bad news within the family. We decided to continue ttc and then Purdie pointed out that I ovulated on cd13, the same day as a positive opk. We dtd cd13, 14 and 15 but not before ovulation so got the timings wrong. Oh well at least I know for next time. I had an 18 day lp last cycle so my body is adamant on working against me!!!

Missmartin - dtd today!!

Pulpi - I'm probably too optimistic about this cycle and it hasn't even begun for me yet!

Freezing cold but sunny here today, hope you are all having good Thursday's! Good luck to anyone testing soon.

My cycles were very regular, my af came back when my dc was 8months and been regular since, but since I've been tracking them property on the apps they seem to have gone haywire! Last month I came on 6 days before I should have, so no idea what happened there. Hopefully just a one off

Melon good on you. It must be liberating to have done away with the opks. So pleased you're feeling calmer now. Fx for you Flowers

Melon & Dizzy: I was thinking about getting OPKs if this month is unsuccessful, but do they cause more stress than anything else? Considering I don't have a highly irregular periods (although they have an eclectic sense of range, it's never been over 31 days), are they worth it?

Report
DizzyMerry · 30/04/2015 13:19

Pulpi I do understand that they can be stressful for some but I personally find them very useful as I didn't think I was ovulating. Also depending on which you use, you can get peak days and high days so you'll know when to dtd. They just take out the guesswork for me but I have started temping now as well to confirm ovulation.

I used the cheap ones where you end up squinting at a line to see if it's equal to or darker than the control line and then wasted £££ on digital ones which never turned positive (weird cycle last month) but blood tests have shown I'm ovulating. Personally I wouldn't bother, the thing that's going to get your bfp is dtd every other day or 3 times per week as soon as AF has departed so that's what I'm doing!

Report
pulpi · 30/04/2015 13:33

So OPKs are useful as a time-saver, in that if you know what days are good, you can get to bed at a reasonable hour on all the other days. At the moment, I rely on "does my cervix feel soft and open today?" method, which has evoked some horrified/stunned expressions from the DH.

ive dtd everyday since cd 5 after af went! i know they say this reduces the quality of the sperm but if i dont do it everyday then i dont feel like im giving myself a good enough chance to get pregnant

miissmartiin I'm not sure when I OV. I've not been tracking it yet. Hoping my thermometer arrives in the post today. I don't get any OV symptoms accept stretchy cm for a few days. I'll see how temping goes this month then will try opk next month! Fx

pulpi.. my cycles are very regular until last month (which was 2 days longer for some reason) my cycles only ever been either 27days or 28days long.. so i guess im kinda like you.. i do use opks they don't make me stressed atall but it all depends on the individual .. i think stressful part is the 2ww Angry i just bought the cheap ones 40 for £5 with 10 pregnancy tests included Grin .... fx you will get your bfp this cycle then you won't even have to bother buying them

im trying to convince dp to take mens conception vitamins but he's having non of it..Angry

Epo helps with cm but only take it up until ov has been confirmed. I've been chomping on pineapple and Brazil nuts!

It's a difficult job to get the men to take their vits. DH agreed to take them but keeps forgetting and I can't be doing with reminding him. I have enough to do already.

Hello! Please can I join? These threads were great support when I was ttc my first. We have fallen into ttc no. 2 and now it's a possibility I'm desperately inpatient. I never thought I'd want two so close together but I can't wait to be pregnant again!

Thanks for the welcome ladies.

Carlton My eldest is almost ten months.
I lived on pineapple juice last time - I love it!
I'm going au naturell at the moment (other than keeping my fingers crossed!). I'm a lot more laid back than before - though I am temping.

Oh good gods. I'm basically 2 dpo and my emotions are ridiculous. Exhaustion is a likely culprit rather than a hormone surge, but I'm sitting here binge-watching Call the Midwife and I've near run through the box of tissues and a tub of Mackies ice cream.

Symptom, or simply batshit crazy?

Report
parsnipbob · 30/04/2015 16:22

Oooh, just got some egg white!! V v unusual for me so grapefruit juice must be helping.

Will have to force DP to DTD when he gets in - he's never keen right after work!!
