Thanks Boris :) I have had a temp dip (for the last three days) but no below the coverline and AF at least four days away. Just pondering whether it indicates an issue with progesterone in the second half of my lp.

Great news on the lp aux!

Boris it's rubbish being ill for so long but pleased that you're getting there. I know what you mean about missing an opportunity to ttc but concentrate on getting yourself well. You've had a tough time lately. It won't be long for your bfp Flowers

Polex boo to rubbish periods. I can totally relate to that. I hope yours come back without any added problems.

night ah I forgot that. Hang in there chick. There more than likely nothing wrong at all. I still can't beleive a private clinic won't take your cash. X

Hiya can I join you? Been on mumsnet a couple of months now, but this is the first bus I've joined!

I'm using opk's and taking vit b complex as last month I ov'd late around CD20/21 and then AF arrived on CD26. Ov not confirmed by temping only going by clear blue opks. I'm hoping that was a one off and nothings wrong, I guess time will tell. Decided to give SMEP (sperm meets egg plan) a go this month too, is anyone else doing that? According to the SMEP plan you don't test until CD35, so that will be 26/05/15, not sure how that will go as I think if AF hadn't arrived completely unexpectedly early last month I probably would have been an early tester rather than a wait and see'er.

Carrot - what did the clear blue trial involve?

stats are: VioletIbiza88, age 27, DP age 32, cycle 2, ttc #1, BFP due 26/05/15

Hi polex. I've just came off the pill too (microgynon tho). I had my pill bleed from 4th to 9th march and then got my real period 10th to 14th april. Before going on the pill (9 years ago!) my cycle was quite long but didnt pay too much attention to it as i was still at school! Predicting i'll get my period again in approx 2 weeks so we'll see!

Thanks again for the welcomes, and the cake woolly

Welcome sarah and good luck! I came off the pill with no problems at all and a regular cycle straight away :-)

Gosh all those charts and temping look so confusing, I think that would just stress me out!

carrot I'm sorry to hear about your family's bad news, night that's so great about the adoption, I'd love to foster myself one day once I've finished my family. Both my parents were fostered/adopted and it's amazing how much the system has changed from then to now.

Welcome teenie good luck!

Fx for you aux I would love to be 7dpo right now! I think time stands still once you have decided to start ttc!

Welcome polexia good luck to you! Bad periods before don't necessarily mean they will be like that again. I think most people grow out of bad period pains as they get older. I used to get bad pains that made me pass out in the street as a teenager, so I went on the pill and all was fine. When I came off the pill I was expecting these awful period pains to return but they never did, I just get mild cramps now :-)

Welcome violet, what's the SMEP?

Anyone got any good long weekend plans? :-)

Carlton smep is the sperm meets egg plan. It involves dtd every other day from CD8 up until you get a positive opk then dtd that day, the next day and the following day, then a day off and then the next day. Then testing on CD35.

DizzyMerry · 01/05/2015 15:53

Welcome violet. We attempted the SMEP a couple of times but circumstances have been such that we had to abandon the plan and just dtd around ovulation.

Carlton it's the sperm meets egg plan. Basically you dtd every other day from cd8. You then use opks from cd10 and when you get a positive opk you dtd three days in a row, miss a day and then try one more time.

Thank you sarah and Carlton its good to hear your experiences of coming off the pill and of not experiencing the same level of period pain. I think I spent a lot of my early teenage years fainting in a variety of embarrassing places - the middle of our school musical in Year 8 was a particularly special one!

carton SMEP is basically starting you are early as possible DTD. This is to make sure you have swimmers up there before the egg is released and until after ovulation just to make sure. Many research articles say that you need to dtd regularly to keep spermz fresh, but conversely not too often as they need time to mature in between being released.
Exactly how often you need to dtd depends a little on your partners age. If young his swimmers may last 5 days or so. If older or with issues they may not live so long.
Many people don't really know exactly when they do ovulate so any sex plan has to be quite long to ensure you catch possible early and late OV.
You are more likely to get Preggo by dtd right before ovulation to get the swimmers in place in time to meet the egg.

Haha Boris I could do that actually. Might have to pre-warn DH first or he'll think I'm even weirder than usual!

Thought I had a few symptoms around, but today there are none and I feel 'normal' like nothing at all is going on inside!
