Mummy I wonder whether I leave the digi until thurs or fit before the scan so I can be fully informed then and take it with me

DizzyNorthernBird · 21/04/2015 15:41

pug so sorry to hear about your mc. Sad Flowers take care of yourself.

eskimolaura · 21/04/2015 15:45

Just got back from work. Had a quick skim read. Pug I am so very sorry. We will have a window seat with a lovely view all ready and waiting for you when you join us again. We have missed you but to have you back under such circumstances is just awful Flowers Flowers

Melon In answer to your question about PCOS, I asked the same thing on the Trying to Conceive with PCOS thread just yesterday. I haven't had a 'real period' for many years, as have been on the pill since I was in my teens. As you probably know, I haven't had anything by way of AF since coming off the pill in November, but the u/s that I had at the beginning of April has just been reported as 'normal.' People with PCOS on that thread have said that the scans don't necessarily reveal PCOS as the cysts can come and go. One lady said that she had two 'normal' scans before she was pregnant and one scan that clearly showed polycystic ovaries when she was pregnant. So a 'normal' scan doesn't necessarily mean that you don't have PCOS. Rubbish, ain't it? Sad

Really want a burger now... Envy

eskimolaura · 21/04/2015 15:57

Ladies, I am in full flow of my fake AF. Got up this morning and I am bleeding what can only be described as 3 months worth of womb lining. Urgh. Sorry TMI. It's really painful too. I called the clinic and they have me booked in next Friday 1st May for my HSG. It will be CD11. I am concerned now that it will be too close to possible ovulation (if, indeed, I am lucky enough to be ovulating... Hmm ) Trouble is, I have no idea when ovulation might be, as I have no cycle pattern of which to speak. CD11 will be ok, won't it? Have already put in a leave of absence form for the day, so I think I'll just got with it and hope it doesn't interfere with any possible chances we might have. I think, at this stage, it's more important that I try and find out what the hell is going on with my body. What does everyone else think? Hmm

DizzyNorthernBird · 21/04/2015 16:00

sparkly/mummy I'm off to Westfield tomorrow with DP as it happens [smugface]. The White City one is about an hours drive away. Shops are shit where I live so we tend to make a full day out of a Westfield visit every few months. I'm very lucky to have a bloke who enjoys shopping. Need to look for some summer dresses tomorrow.

Glasgow is ace though! I haven't been for years but I love it there for shopping. Always preferred it to Edinburgh actually.

purdie sorry you've been struggling today. It must take some adjustment when it's a while since you've worked. Office jobs are always going to be dull at times. I love my job but deep down I hate being stuck at a desk all day. Try and get out for a bit on your lunch hour, it helps break the day up.

Ok, so the last two days I decided stupidly to put myself through caffeine withdrawal. Hadn't had a 'proper' Cuppa since Sunday morning. Woke up feeling like hell. Got to 1500 and I caved and went out for pg tips. useless have decided 2cups of tea a day and the odd latte won't kill me. It's so not worth the effort. Sad

Nomio230 · 21/04/2015 16:00

What is five guys? I have never heard of it. Maybe we don't have them round here.

Sparkly it might be a good idea to get some of the tests that tell you how far along you are. If you do one each week & the numbers keep going up, eg 3 weeks pregnant, four, five etc. it might give you some reassurance that everything is progressing as it should.

Spinning I always hated flip flops until I discoverd Havaianas. Now I live in the from about May-September as they are just so comfy!

Sparkly123 · 21/04/2015 16:00

Praise The Lord Eskimo we have a bleed!! Bet you have never been so pleased to see that witch! Even if she is medication induced!! Right so HSG is booked! Well I imagine they wouldn't have given you it then if it was too late in cycle would they? I did think it was between day 7-10 but a day out either way prob doesn't matter. It's very unlikely you would OV so early and like you say- I totally agree, it's much more priority right now to find out what's going on in your body!! I'm so pleased for you things are in place. Fingers crossed this is the start of your very short path to your baba! Flowers

DizzyNorthernBird · 21/04/2015 16:01

sorry eskimo!

Nomio230 · 21/04/2015 16:06

I agree Dizzy. I think the stress caused by trying to give up caffeine then being miserable is probably worse for TTC than just drinking the stuff! I have a latte three or four times a week & refuse to stop until I see that second line.

Eskimo I am really glad AF has finally shown her face, but sorry to hear you are in pain.

CD11 should be ok for HSG I would think. The dye is all out of your body by the next day, so even if you OV relatively early, say day 13, you should still be ok. I agree that at this point it is more important you know what is going on.

Riceicle1 · 21/04/2015 16:06

pug I'm so sorry Flowers
purds work sucks balls 99% of the time Sad think about the maternity leave you will be entitled to when you get your twin babas- there's nothing like being paid to stay at home (that's why I've done it so often!!!)
sparkly yay for the strong positive Flowers
I'm officially in the two week wait today, have DTd 11 times in 9 days (not bad for an old man!) so fingers crossed. But I won't be too sad. yeah right if it doesn't happen this month as I'm off to Portugal for a girlie weekend of boozing relaxing next month.

Loving sitting in my garden enjoying the sunshine Wine happy days

Sparkly123 · 21/04/2015 16:14

Nomio you are prob right. I'm just not sure about those test. I remember the clinic telling me before about how they don't really think they can be accurate given the fact that everyone's hcg rises at different levels and it's not textbook, so for example people being further along but only getting 1-2 weeks because their hcg is lower than the average person you know? I guess I just don't want another thing to focus on to worry me and that's why I have been leaving it so long to do that CB one. Silly probably but I think she did have a point.
You don't know five guys?!?

ThePug · 21/04/2015 16:17

Thank you all for being lovely and for finding me seats! I'm at home and have been getting on with some work for the last hour or so and am feeling ok (physically and emotionally - the yuck physical bit is still to come, unfortunately). Had a long chat with my business partner too who is keeping the show on the road and was generally lovely (he's 66 and male but has 5 kids and 11 grandchildren). Called my mum who didn't even know we were TTC - that was hard but she was lovely too and obviously very sad for us. She'll tell my dad who will probably want to phone me later - he is way more emosh than my mum and I know he will cry down the phone if I do (my mum held it together).

I am thinking of three upsides at the moment:

  1. Getting back on here with you lovely lot (this was the first place I came to post when I got home)
  2. Being able to drink some of the lovely wine we brought back from honeymoon I thought I'd miss out on
  3. Normal tea bags!

It is totally shit and I expect I'll have lots of wobbles but for now I am just trying to look forward and hope this horrible next phase is over with asap I don't really want to go on the mc board. If any of you who've been through this have any advice you want to give me (and others don't mind it being discussed here) then I'm totally open to talking.

I'll try to catch up with all your news when I can. Off to make a cup of caffeine-filled tea now Brew

Sparkly123 · 21/04/2015 16:19

Dizzynorth lucky you! Sounds great! Yes you are spot on - Glasgow shops are much better than Edinburgh and much better located. Edinburgh has lovely shops and some high end but so far apart and def not as good as Glasgow. I do love Edinburgh though for eating out etc. We tend to choose there over Glasgow for that. Re caffeine. I say give yourself a break! TTC is tough going you shouldnt deprive yourself completely. So many times we have said this- so many women get pregnant in different situations- illness, drug addiction, poor diet.. You name it. I agree cutting down prob is good for you overall but cutting completely seems like a real task!

Sparkly123 · 21/04/2015 16:21

Rice can I get a woo woo for the TWW! Fingers crossed lovely! Brilliant dtd work you pro! Oh your holiday sounds so lovely! Jealous!!! Grin

Queenbee30 · 21/04/2015 16:34

pug so sorry Flowers

MelonMelon · 21/04/2015 16:55

pug I'm so sorry for your loss. I and many other women on here have been through the same so if you want to talk, shout or cry we're here for you. This is so shit Flowers

DizzyMerry · 21/04/2015 16:57

Oh pug I'm so sorry Flowers

Nomio how rubbish that the referral is taking ages and to make matters worse there is talk of repeating the tests! My GP said so long as tests are done within a year of the referral then they will accept that. Your surgery may be different though. In any case they need to get a move on. I do hope though that you get your bfp and don't need to go any further with this.

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 21/04/2015 17:01

pug I'm so sorry your going through this pugs. Flowers be kind to yourself - do lots of what makes you happy - and when you need to cry - cry - and when you need a virtual cuddle - we have plenty for you - enjoy your brew Brew x

Pixa · 21/04/2015 17:04

DizzyNorth I am shocked Shock (ha ha) that our own resident DC would get caught in the act! Wink Pleased you enjoyed the salad.

Oyster So envious, that you're in the final run up to your wedding. Honestly, it is the most beautiful time. Enjoy it! Smile

DizzyMerry How are you? Giggling at your swab story.

Mummy Sorry for the temp dip. You're definitely not out though!

Melon What is a Five Guys?

Nomio My DH is the same if I ever mention AI in passing. Although, I get a straight out no! I really didn't realise you had been trying for so long. The rereferral stuff is terrible.

Boris Have I missed an update? How was your birthday?

Purdie I really worry about that after I have a child and inevitably end up back at work. You do have a goal though! Keep working to it. In your post, I am pretty sure you described me except, I don't have bejewelled nails and my name is not Denise or Andrew Grin

Sparkly I am sure I have had painful DTD before, never mentioned it to GP. Counting down the days to your scan! Pregnancy tests are sounding very positive.

Rainy Hope the bloods are okay.

ThePug I am so so very sorry to hear about your mc. Please look after yourself. Thinking of you. Flowers

Sammy Sad I hate a baby bomb.

Rice 9 times in 11 days?! You are my idol Grin

Nomio230 · 21/04/2015 17:08

Rice 11 times in 9 days is pretty impressive. If babies were awarded for effort, you would definitely be preggers this month!

Sparkly that is interesting. I never thought about everyones levels being different. I completely get that you don't need anything else to obsess over right now. You are doing so well though. Just a few more days & you will know for sure. Smile

Hairstylisttoboris · 21/04/2015 17:09

pixa my birthday was a washout. I have tonsillitis (in bed now, feeling crap). AF is also in full flow. DH ended up watching snooker and ignoring me. Sigh. Better luck next year :(

Nomio230 · 21/04/2015 17:10

Ha ha Pixa, I asked the same thing! I had to Google it. They are a burger chain.

Pixa · 21/04/2015 17:12

Aw, sorry Boris sending you belated birthday cake! Cake I am happy to organise a poat-birthday celebration for you on Bumsnet. ^^ Grin
