Pahaha 'tennis balls' I clearly know nothing! Just Googled. teeny !!! Wink

purdiepie · 13/04/2015 13:52

mummy you can't get free fertility treatment like iui or ivf if you already have a child. I had to go private simply because DH already had a son, even though I was childless!

kissinggiraffe · 13/04/2015 13:54

De-lurking to send love to sparkly. Flowers for you my love. I hope you get some answers

Rainy34 · 13/04/2015 13:57

Thanks Spinning, Tessie, i am going to take all the vitamins i am taking and i have my notepad full of questions,

Thanks Sparkly, if you tested this morning and it was darker i am wondering if you are still pregnant , I'm not trying to get your hopes up but.....my friend has just given birth to her daughter and she was bleeding bright red blood on week 6 , week 8 she thought she was having a miscarriage as she was bleeding so heavily, as i say i dont want to get your hopes up but maybe if you might still be in with a chance

Sorry to hear AF has got you Dizzy and that your progesterone is low, maybe now you can get the treatment you need

Yokyil · 13/04/2015 14:02

Just trying to get caught up - sparkly best of luck on your phone call!! I sincerely hope you get all the answers you need Flowers
chops fingers crossed you get some good news tomorrow!!!
night sorry AF got you Sad and hope you start feeling better soon.
merry fx you start getting some answers - sorry I'm no help with the progesterone but purdie has a lot of info. Hope you find a plan of action soon Smile

Didn't get to DTD last night Angry but near 100% sure I ov'd last night - getting left hand pain late last night and this morning. So fingers crossed doing the necessary after work might still be in time

MelonMelon · 13/04/2015 14:08

10 days late Sad

Mummyofonesofar · 13/04/2015 14:15

Sorry you're still hanging on Melon Did you contact your GP in the end?

sparkly I hope you were taken seriously by the nurse and if they or your GP could do a beta and it shows positive then you could be seen at the epu?

I didn't know of that ivf rule - seems silly - especially if the child is from a previous relationship!

I just checked mine for info and looks like they only help if you haven't conceived after 2 years of regular unprotected intercourse or 12 cycles of artificial insemination using partner’s sperm or 6 cycles of donor sperm.

Am I right in thinking they would still investigate things but without offering treatment, or not?

Oysterbabe · 13/04/2015 14:24

We really aren't doing well at the moment are we Sad Hugs all round.

Did you DTD on Saturday Yokil ? Hopefully it'll be enough.
I'm pretty certain I oved last night too, had some right sided twinges and a temp rise this morning. I still might DTD again tonight before resting him to be sure. He's getting pretty tired though.

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 13/04/2015 14:33

Thinking of you sparkly. Hope you gave Trunchbull a verbal what for. Keep hold of every test. If the line is darker than you must still be pregnant. Please try to remain as calm as you can, stress wont help at all (silly shit to say I know)

auxiliaryauroch · 13/04/2015 14:42

melon! What does the gp say?
dizzy sorry about the results but also fab about results! Much better to know what one is up against and what you can do about it than just shagging in the dark. Endlessly.

auxiliaryauroch · 13/04/2015 14:45

Who wants to tell me why I should drink pineapple juice and eat Brazil nuts to help with implantation rather than just pop a selenium supplement? And who wants to tell me what marvellous things I can eat or drink to try and keep my progesteone levels up post ov to support an eggy? really hoping it is goats cheese, sushi and gin

Sweets27 · 13/04/2015 14:48

aux - me! Got my BFP after starting to drink pineapple juice and eat Brazil nuts, which frankly I think should be sufficient scientific evidence for you. tessie mentioned she drink pineapple juice too.

(Absolutely no idea what the scientific reason is behind the pineapple juice - is it selenium like the brazil nuts?)

Sparkly123 · 13/04/2015 14:50

sorry ladies just back from the hosp and the trunchbull. I will update you below but you lot first!!!

ChoppersVic oh no, sorry you feel so rotten what a shame. So what's the plan lovely?you know these are possible symptoms and I know you are reluctant to test..

Tessie well done lovely! Good stats. Hope you are feeling ok?

Dizzymerry Urgh AF!!! Sorry sweetheart and sorry about the progesterone result. What did they say with reference to increasing Clomid? Sorry you have to wait now to see clinic. Is refferal long? What about your back up of going private?

Eskimo so it's just a waiting game at moment for you. But still all moving forward which is main thing lovely! Are you feeling ok on the drugs?

Thanks Kissing and Dojo so lovely to hear from you both! Hope you are both doing ok

Night how you feeling today?? Any better??? Re temping. Why don't you give it a go, set your alarm and take it earlier? Just see how you get on with this cycle. What's the harm In trying and seeing how the chart looks?

Rainy gazillions of luck for your app.

Mummy your temp rise may just be delayed. Hold tight.. It can still come. Have you had day 21 bloods? Sorry if this has already been asked

aux how are you?? Thank you

Spinning I get my syringes from the clinic lovely. They give me the syringes and sample pots. My syringes are by the BRAUN brand. Did you try eBay? Both there and amazon have good ones I hear. Purds you get yours online or ?

Melon one day soon you are gonna look back on this with a BFP and wonder how you got through this wait! Whether this happens this month or next or next, it will happen. Keep strong lovely. You can do it!

Thanks Glitterpants

Sorry if I have missed anyone!!

Mummyofonesofar · 13/04/2015 14:51

I bookmarked a page the other day on pineapple which said:

Several minerals in pineapple, including selenium, supposedly contribute to improving the uterine lining. A cup of pineapple juice contains just 0.2 micrograms of selenium, a tiny percentage of the 55 micrograms required for adults over age 19. The food highest in selenium, Brazil nuts, contains 544 micrograms per ounce. Before you switch your food allegiance to Brazil nuts to help you get pregnant, consider that more than 400 micrograms of selenium per day can cause selenosis, which can lead to mild nerve damage, fatigue and irritability. Most adults in the United States gets an adequate amount of selenium in their diet; in countries where the soil contains little selenium, deficiencies can develop.

Here is the full article

spinningirl10 · 13/04/2015 14:51

Aux, I really don't believe the pineapple thing but it's actually pineapple core and not juice. I don't know why but I'm sure if you google you'll find it. As I said, I think it's a load of rubbish Smile
Selenium tablets are good, stick with thoseSmile
Sparkly has a list of what should be eaten and when, maybe she'll post it when she's feeling up to it. I try to follow a healthy diet all the time. Plenty of leafy green veg is good.
That really wasn't very helpful at all, sorry!

spinningirl10 · 13/04/2015 14:55

Sparkly, You actually went to the hospital, that's good news. hope you got on ok. I've been looking out for an update.

spinningirl10 · 13/04/2015 14:57

Yokyil, fx for dtd tonight!

Oyster, 1 more for luck sounds like a good idea.

Melon, how bloody frustrating. Have you been to the doc?

Mummyofonesofar · 13/04/2015 14:58

Sparkly I havn't had any tests yet - only on cycle 3. DP has agreed to eod for the rest of this cycle just incase - he is annoyed as a few days ago I switched back to pregnacare which delayed ov on cycle one. My post ov temps are poor so Dr Purdey was waiting to see if cycle 3's temps were as rubbish as the other 2 but I already know my GP is not interested in temps and would make me wait a full year or even 2!

Sorry if this next bit upsets anyone, it is not intended to - When I got my unplanned BFP with DS so young I had this overpowering feeling that I should continue with the pregnancy incase in the future I could not have more children. It sounds crazy but I have this gut feeling that we will struggle. I try to block it out but it still niggles.

MelonMelon · 13/04/2015 15:16

mummy and aux Seeing GP on the 29th

Yokyil · 13/04/2015 15:32

Oyster yep DTD sat night-after midnight so just into early hrs of Sunday, and Friday night - will go for one more after work but that'll be our lot - he's knackered Hmm lol!
Thanks Spinning & Sparkly - sparkly hope your trip to the hospital went as well as could be expected.
Melon is your doc appointment not til the end of the month?

Sparkly123 · 13/04/2015 15:40

Right my update- here I go with my woes again!!!

So phoned trunchbull at 11.10..(you will soon see why I have told you the exact time!) I explained the situation to her.. She said "well it could be that you are just getting your period"
Eh Hi love, Obvs that's what's now happening only it's taking a fertilised egg with it!!!.. She totally disregarded the positive test. She then asked what my cycle was like last month and I explained the black stuff and that I had already called her last month and spoken to her!!! So she then asked what pain and bleeding was like now etc. And then "I have patients this afternoon but if you come in at 11.45 I'll do a scan".. This was now 11.17 and it takes me 30mins to get to hospital! I explained that and got an abrupt "well if you can't get here you will need to go to epu and wait"
So phoned husband and he bolted back from work and we got there for 11.50!

Got there and met a different trunchbull! (The same nurse but a different attitude) She was all "come in pet" . She gave me 55 minutes! She was quite understanding.. A lot better than usual. At the beginning she tried to fob me off with the "false positive" nonsense as I took my test with me- it's a strong line today- so dh said we had four the same positive and that he didn't agree they could all be wrong. She did an NHS test and it came up faintly positive but not as strong as mine. The scan showed that my lining is still thick and there are no clots in it... So the obvious question is- where is the blood coming from? She then said maybe it was my cervix or from somewhere else in the area of the lining. She also said my bowel was contracting a lot and that could be causing such severe pain at my periods- interesting! She showed us the scan and it was clear to see my lining was thick and intact. So eventually. She took beta bloods, I get the result by 6pm and then if hcg there I have to repeat on Wednesday. She said that if my test is stronger today from Saturday it would point to a continuing pregnancy and that some women bleed a lot and have clots in early pregnancy alongside cramps. The consultant then came in which I thought was very good of her in between patients and pretty much reiterated what Trunchpants said.

There's lots of possible outcomes, she discussed ectopic and can't rule it out as scan only shows so far. There's the possibility I'm one of these woman who bleeds during pregnancy. Then there is the chemical/early mc. I'm absolutely not holding hope. I don't want to set myself up for a fall. Since I had that scan there has been a lot of red blood so to me, I think that's it coming now. I hope the hcg shows so it is noted for moving forward and maybe I can talk them into progesterone although if my lining is thick I don't see how that theory makes sense anymore??? It's a waiting game now. Blood results tonight then onwards to Wednesday as I imagine surely there will be some hcg in there?!? If not then something is def up with all these positive tests!

So that's me. She told me to go home and rest and if any intense pains and constant heavy bleeding in meantime to go straight to hospital. I'm not gonna lie, I have a slight worry about ectopic now given that my tests getting stronger but I just need to try and block that out.
Sorry for overtaking the thread with this but I know you all wanted and update and thought I would give you all the details!!

MelonMelon · 13/04/2015 15:43

Thanks for taking the time to update us sparkly. Im crossing my fingers this will turn out ok for you Smile

yoilyl yep 29th April that's the next one I could get

Sparkly123 · 13/04/2015 15:47

melon thanks. Do you not have an emergency drop in at your surgery? That's such a long wait sweetheart Flowers

Mummyofonesofar · 13/04/2015 15:48

Sparkly what an exhausting sounding day. I hope you get some good news on Wednesday but it is very confusing where the blood is coming from if not the lining!

Sending positive vibes your way - it sounds like you have a great hubby btw! And I am very pleased the Nurse was far less of a witch this time!!

ThePug · 13/04/2015 15:58

Sparkly I am so pleased the nurse gave you the time you deserved and the investigations that were required at this stage. As you say, only time will tell the outcome but I am so relieved that you weren't fobbed off.

eskimo Grin tennis ball! I believe 'grain of rice' would be about right for me!
