Just looking at your chart butter wtf happened with that 38 day cycle (apologies if you've already said but I have the worst short term memory)

Mummyofonesofar · 11/04/2015 08:28

I do CB digital, had my peak yesterday & today so will ov tomorrow if it's the same as last month.

juneybean · 11/04/2015 08:33

Ooh well today's temp will be fine then hopefully tomorrow will drop and Monday will shoot up!

Mummyofonesofar · 11/04/2015 08:35

Yup fingers crossed. How are your temps and opks looking? Are you 'going again' tomorrow?

Oysterbabe · 11/04/2015 08:36

Daisy that really is a lot, you should talk to him about it and explain about your concerns re fertility. A few years back I got into the habit of having a couple of glasses of wine every evening, about half a bottle. I had an appointment with my doctor about something and she asked how much I drank and gave me a proper talking to when I told her. I drink very infrequently now.

CD14. I reckon I'll get a +ve opk today. Currently in bed watching the qualifying. Need to DTD before we get up but I'll need to wait until the qualifying is finished, I'll never be able to compete with it for attention.

Mummyofonesofar · 11/04/2015 08:37

Daisy I am sorry, my post looks very blunt but I think it is easy to think it is normal when you see your DH drink like that all the time but I want you to know it isn't but he can get better. Ttc was a big motivation for my dp as was me threatening to leave him and find someone who wasn't alcohol dependant.

Pixa · 11/04/2015 08:40

Ladies, its my personal trainer session today and I just do not want to go when AF is here. Angry

Onwards and upwards though right?

Mummyofonesofar · 11/04/2015 08:44

Pixa oh no! Try to survive enjoy it!

Hairstylisttoboris · 11/04/2015 08:50

daisy I drink a fair amount. Not that much, but more than I should, I know. i think what would work for me in his shoes (if you get what I mean) would be data - a sperm analysis, get some solid facts into his head about damage he is doing?

Hairstylisttoboris · 11/04/2015 08:51

oyster it's a crap weekend for having to compete with sport. Need the sex dress to distract :)

nightandthelight · 11/04/2015 08:52

Enjoy pixa! I really miss having a personal trainer but I do know what you mean about it not being so good during AF. Although I did once read that your body benefits more from exercise during AF than at other points in your cycle :) something to do with blood flow I think.

purdiepie · 11/04/2015 08:53

Daisy, I'm so sorry you are having to face up to this. The others are right, of course, your husband is a problem drinker. The guidelines are there to make us safe drinkers and 70 units a week is perilous to his health, your chances of conception and your marriage. I'm sorry, but it really is that serious, my love. You need to ask him to cut down drastically to the 'safe' limit of 21 units per week and see if he is able and willing. If for any reason whatsoever he makes excuses as to why his drinking shouldn't be curbed then you have the proof staring you in the face. Please don't become an 'enabler' - someone who loves their partner so much, and is so afraid of confrontation or embarrassing them, that they continue to allow that level of drinking. I can't think of even one liberal drinker who would say that your husband does not have a problem Thanks

Please remember, too, that if and when a baby comes into your lives, your husband would be a danger around it if he is drinking those levels each night.

Pixa · 11/04/2015 08:54

I have to echo the other ladies comments Daisy, that amount of alcohol would be concerning to me...

Aside from all of the usual health risks and financial impact, as you asked about it, here's an extra from one of the pre-conception books I read about sperm and alcohol...

Too much alcohol (as you may have been dismayed to discover at one point or another) can impair a guy's sexual function - a function that you're now counting on. But worse than that, research indicates that daily and heavy drinking can damage sperm as well as reduce their numbers (in some men, even one or two beers or glasses of wine is enough to temporarily keep the boys down). Too many rounds on a regular basis can also alter testicular function and reduce testosterone levels (not a good scenario when you're trying to make a baby). Heavy drinking (equivalent ro two drinks a day or five drinks in one sitting even once a month) by the dad-to-be during the month prior to conception could also affect your baby's birthweight.
[source: What to Expect before you're expecting]

I would definitely try and dicuss it with him at some point. For all we know, he could have mega super sperm but it's definitely worth trying to be at optimum peak level of health prior to conception.

Pixa · 11/04/2015 08:57

Daisy I apologise if my post seemed blunt. Flowers I have lived with alcoholism and heavy drinkers in the past and it is so very hard.

The Bumsnet/Angry Pubes Bus #2... BFPs for the taking!
Pixa · 11/04/2015 08:59

Thanks Mummy and Night. I know its good for me and my PT is a woman my age so I am sure she will understand that we all have off days. This week I have been cutting out tea and coffee completely and I am shattered but you only have to give it up once and for good. Smile

juneybean · 11/04/2015 08:59

Eeee tessie !!! Grin

Pixa · 11/04/2015 08:59

Yay Tessie. Fingers crossed for you. Grin

purdiepie · 11/04/2015 09:00

Sparkly, I love you. Fact Thanks Juney, you too. Of course I'm not anyone's leader and I honestly shudder at the thought of people thinking that. I just talk a lot and I'm frank and a rampant oversharer. Perhaps that comes across as dominating on screen

Baker, welcome back, love. I don't bake gluten free except for the lemon drizzle cake I made t'other week using mashed potato. It tasted of very moist lemon mash Hmm Sorry I can't be of help.

To everyone who has become upset by the fracas over on the April bus. Please don't be alarmed by people who enjoy sensationalising others' posts and comments. In life there are those who are overly sensitive and alarmists who panic at the slightest opinion being proffered. We are an amazing bunch of women and are all equally loved and respected here. We all want the best for each other and only an attention-seeking, flouncing fuckwit would see it any differently Thanks Brew Thanks

Woolly84 · 11/04/2015 09:01
