What happened to the weather? Thought is was supposed to be spring! It's freezing in the bunny household.

Spinning and Hair - I'm with you in wanting to know what makes a difference. I've tried cycles cutting out caffeine, alcohol etc. but I tend to find that those are the harder cycles to recover from when you get a BFN at the end of them.

If I knew that depriving myself of things I like would get me a BFP then I'd do it in a split-second - it's the not knowing whether it will make a difference which I struggle with.

I was super good on the whole eating healthy front when ttc last Summer but I've let that slide somewhat over winter, so if I don't get an April BFP, I will definitely contemplate a diet overhaul in time for our ttc anniversary in May.

I think that the wellman conception tablets really help.

MissMrs, thanks for your how-i-did-it list Can I ask why you reduced your dairy intake? Were you advised to? Were you on the H&B B- Complex + Vit C?

hope all is well. Haven't had chance to read back the 20 odd pages ive missed but I gather there have been some bfps so congrats to those lucky ladies!!

Cd 5 here so not much going on, just keeping busy to make the days go quicker!! Hate to wish my life away but just want fertile week to be here again, luckily dh is on leave during futile week so we will be able to get plenty of nookie in. Have decided to ditch the temping this month, we are off on a mini break too so think the flight will muck things up anyway!!

Am going to jump on the April bus, hope not to see too many of you on there xx

Beansprout - glad to hear you're going to be joining us on the super lucky April bus. I have already decided that if I conceive this cycle, mini Cariad will be known as the "Elf" due to the close proximity of its EDD to Christmas.

Spinning, I just love how generous people are to go away and look up websites to help others who they barely know. It's enormously heart-warming. I've been meaning to ask you, Spinster....when are we going to get out 43 year-old BFPs? Do you have any radical plans afoot? Are you seriously looking at IVF clinics? Would you go to any lengths for a baby with DH (ie donor egg if own-egg IVF doesn't work)? Same with alcohol. Obviously I'm teetotal, but if I weren't I would not be giving up a nightly glass of wine for some vague threat of infertility. I do believe heavily-boozing men can damage their missus' chances of conceiving, but they'll make shit dads anyway if they can't stay out of the boozer.

We know from research that it takes three months for any purported benefits from supplements to work their magic on a woman's eggs (that is if you believe the quality of a woman's eggs can be improved at all). So, can we assume that the key to MissMrs' conception was the lengthening and de-spotting of her luteal phase? I think so

CD26 according to Ovia, AF due Weds. Might test tomorrow morning, I can't stand it much longer. At least a negative tomorrow might soften the blow if/when AF arrives.

Don't really know. Poss 12/13. CD 28 anyway. Don't know why but I had a good feeling this month largely because I felt like total pants for the last few days

Sammy, I think baths are ok as long as they are not scalding hot. I have been having mine a bit cooler & just topping up the water more often. I figure that the relaxation must balance out the risk of any bad effects.

Purdey, our bfps are just waiting round the corner. I'm sure it has to be our turn soon and it bloody well needs to be at our age
Alcohol isn't a problem for us. We rarely drink, never drink at home and have a night out once every couple of months. We are considering ivf, we're going to wait for dp's next sperm test, I think he's about 6 weeks in with the vits so another 6 to go till retest. Of course his sperm will be amazing and I will get upduffed immediately.
If I don't I don't think we'd use a donor egg, which is strange as we've considered adoption (if we weren't so old) Dp says he would want our child to have my qualities and patience, Ahh, see he can be a big softie
We said we would stop trying at the end of the year but We wouldn't use contraception so I'd probably be one of those women you read about in the paper with a bfp at 50!!

Thanks Nomio - I love my baths, and really hate switching to showers for 2ww, the last few months I've just had baths as normal because I felt like I was giving up everything I enjoy to no avail!

Dunno nomio, I don't usually have long cycle (average 26 days except last month which was 29) . However, I usually start spotting 2/3 days prior to af. Have had nothing this month, coupled with serious tiredness and a dizzy head, got myself all excited so I did.

Argh! My last post was originally split between addressing spinning and cariad. Cariad, your bit begins with my waffle about alcohol but it was originally preceded with me saying I feel exactly the same as you: what is the magical tipping point? I resolutely refuse to believe that caffeine impacts upon conception and my thoughts about alcohol are as above. Sorry for any confusion.

Babs, sorry for the bfn, it's worse when you have symptoms. But it's Christmas babies all round on the April bus so don't lose hope
