Oh spinning. I have those moments too. We went to meet our new landlord last week and his wife was there with their 3 month old. Sooo cute! Spent most of meeting cooing to baby!

SaladBeach · 19/03/2015 21:19

Aw sounds cute. I had to look after a newborn in the hospital today for a few hours (work related), changed and fed him, it was painful Sad

babsbunny · 19/03/2015 21:21

Oh salad!

babsbunny · 19/03/2015 21:28

Right. Bed time. Exhausted tonight. Have a nice evening everyone.

loopylou1984 · 19/03/2015 21:30

Phew found you all!! Xx

PurdeyPie · 19/03/2015 21:39

Aw, Saladbeach, you proper cheered me up with your lovely compliment Thanks

Spinning, without sounding all evangelical again, the miscarriage rate for women who opt to use the embryoscope does indeed go down - and quite drastically - by 10%. Without the embryoscope the embryologist has only one snapshot per day of each embryo's development; he cannot know whether he is transferring the very best of the bunch and reducing the chances of putting back chromasomally abnormal embryos.

Can you believe we filled the last thread in four days?! Shock

I've forgotten who asked when I get my blood result, sorry. I will get them on Friday afternoon.

Kissing, if you're out there, I've been thinking about you a lot today and am gutted your TTC plans are on hold. I do think, however, your health comes first. This is obviously meant to be, so take courage in the knowledge you'll be a better person (physically) when you conceive Smile

I have felt truly dreadful today, in myself: tired beyond reason; irascible as frig; ferociously hungry and very, very low in mood. I am looking forward to seeing a (female) GP next week; I really, really need to talk to someone Sad

toadierocks · 19/03/2015 21:40

Hi
Can i jump on the bus? I've been watching the other thread Brew Cake - I'll just be on the cusp of buses as I'm due to POAS 30th/31st....if I hold out that long that is :) stats are 31 TTC#2 Cycle 9
SaladBeach - got the triplets program on record for some weekend viewing :)

Quietlyhopeful81 · 19/03/2015 21:40

Welcome salad Smile

Quietlyhopeful81 · 19/03/2015 21:41

And welcome Toadie! Smile

eskimolaura · 19/03/2015 21:42

Right ladies, I need all of your help, advice and expertise :)

First of all, massive apologies in advance for the me, me, me post. I haven't read back, and missed half the old bus and the start of this one as I have been glued to my kitchen table marking coursework for the last two nights, so condolences to those got by the witch, huge congrats to the BFPs (Giddy I saw yours and I am over the moon for you, my lovely!) and a general high fives and kisses to everyone else.

Here goes:

I had my first consultation with the hospital today, as I've been off the pill since November and had no AF. I am soooo tired today and my mind has been a bit blown with all of the stuff that the lady said. Confused She wanted to make very sure that my DH and I were definitely TTC, as the treatment would have been different if not. I had an internal looksee and she pressed on my stomach a few times. Everything OK there.

I have a list of things that I need to do (she wrote it down for me!)

  1. I have to take a HPT (just in case). It will be BFN, (The last one I did was Saturday) but I'll do it anyway.
  1. I have to call my GP to get a blood test for Rubella immunity. I don't think that this is particularly for the lack of AF; I think she said it was routine for people that are TTC. Confused
  1. DH has to go to the GP for a sperm test. (Again, this is for the TTC thing)
  1. She wrote this as number 4: 'Wait and see and continue TTC'

If it gets to 3 months and there is no AF, they will give me Norethisterone again to induce a bleed and do the Day 21 and Day 28 blood tests to see if I am ovulating.

In the meantime, she is going to arrange a Hysterosalpingogram to check my fallopian tubes and an ultrasound to check my ovaries.

Ok, my question is this: Surely I can't keep TTC, as, when I do have the Hysterowhatjamacallit, it will flush out anything that might have implanted? I only thought about this when I got home... I asked one of my friends, who had IVF recently and so has had the Hysterflushyourtubesoutogram and she said that they only do it after a period, or, for women who have irregular periods or do not ovulate, they need to use contraception for 6 weeks beforehand.

Surely I have been given the wrong advice then, and shouldn't be TTC at all if I am waiting for this hystericalsquirtsomeliquidupmyfluteogram? Confused

Anyone?! Thanks ladies, and sorry again for the huge post.

loopylou1984 · 19/03/2015 21:47

Laura - I have no experience or advise, but laughed out loud at your names for the HSG GrinGrin

Hope someone more knowledgable can help you...

loopylou1984 · 19/03/2015 21:47

*advice!!

ozmund · 19/03/2015 21:52

spinning thanks for the new post. I am still scurrying along, trying to keep up with the buses.

mummyofonesofar · 19/03/2015 21:52

Sorry Eskimo I can't help.

Very quiet tonight here. Also on faceache. Off to bed soon as feel very tired 2dpo - clearly pregnant nothing at all to do with crisis at work

spinningirl10 · 19/03/2015 21:53

Welcome ToadieSmile

Eskimo, I don't know about the tube flush but I can't see how you can have it there's a possibility you could be pregnant. Maybe they'd scan you first to check? Can you phone tomorrow and double check?

Purdey, thank you for the info. I've read up about the embryoscope and it's amazing and definitely a good thing for us oldies. It's also costly and means a return trip to the clinic. But if it gets you a bfp first try then I guess it's saving money. Something else to think about.

toadie (and anyone else planning to watch it) a word of warning - it's pretty emotional, have the tissues ready!

mrsb0710 · 19/03/2015 21:55

It all sounds confusing to me eskimo. But I know there are some fabulously knowledgeable ladies on here who can help.

spinningirl10 · 19/03/2015 21:55

Salad, it is isn't it. Luckily I'm home alone watching.

ozmund · 19/03/2015 21:57

Sorry eskimo that sounds very confusing. Ive not had to go through anything similar but would probably just phone up and harass them for some clarity

victoria401 · 19/03/2015 22:03

I've had a HSG Eskimo and yes they say to have it after you've stopped bleeding and before you ovulate. I have no idea how it will work for u with no af! When I had it I had to poas before I went through. In a plastic beaker in the changing room thingy next to the treatment room, cringe! The letter also told me ring on my cd1 so they can arrange it. Surely you would need to have the bring on drugs first? Sorry you've had a mind blowing experience :-(

SaladBeach · 19/03/2015 22:04

spinning I needed those tissues! I can't even imagine the mixed emotions they had, and she seemed like such a positive person.

I've just realised I should be on the April bus as bfp due 9th, can I be the rebellious bus goer who refuses to disembark Hmm

victoria401 · 19/03/2015 22:05

As for the ultrasound, its internal but won't affect any implanted baby. X

eskimolaura · 19/03/2015 22:06

Thank you ladies. It is confusing isn't it?! I really don't want to put TTC on hold, as I don't want to miss a month that could be the month, bt equally, I don't want the worry and stress of thinking that I could be and not really knowing. It's so much harder not knowing when I am ovulating or what flippin' number CD I am on!

Although, I am currently taking Agnus Castus in order to try and either regulate my hormones or induce AF, and apparently, that can cause MC, so you're only supposed to take it until you ovulate if you are TTC. As a result, we are not actually TTC right now (as in tonight or tomorrow, or probably this weekend) anyway.

I guess I'm reluctant to say that we have put it on hold, when in reality, I am not really checking my CM or peeing on any OPKs like I was a couple of months ago. It's just the thought of waiting until maybe June or July that I am really not happy about; I'm ok with saying 'Ok, not this week...' but not so ok with saying 'not for the next 8 weeks'. Does that make sense? Sad

eskimolaura · 19/03/2015 22:09

Victoria, If we don't TTC beforehand, I should be ok to have the HSG at any time right? I mean, they won't know what CD I am on, but it won't matter if we haven't conceived? It doesn't have to be done at that specific time for any other reason does it? x
