Evening/Morning all

Congrats on the safe arrival of your Granddaughter JassS BearThanks

Welcome to our newbies. May your stay with us be short and fruitful. Smile

Sending out big hugs to everyone having a crap time.

Busy here. Trying to get prepped for building works. Trying to get DS tired out so he'll nap well and go to sleep early. Not really succeeding. Confused

I don't know what happened this month. I got completely caught up in stuff and lost track of my cycle. It was day 14 before I knew it. We only managed to DTD once and I have no idea how well timed that was. I don't even know what CD it is today! Getting defo PMS symptoms though so I guess AF is on the way sooner or later. Sad

At least we have some nice weather on the way. Everything seems so much better when the sun is shining.

Cloud, I'm with Flotillas in thinking that it may have been ovulation on day 16 or 17. As for the lower temps, I don't know, I would wait it out and see what happens. As you know last cycle I had positive opk then a sort of temp rise which wasn't a rise at all, then ovulated 5-7 days later. However, you did have a big temp spike, so I think you did ovulate - there is such a thing as a slow rise isn't there? And there's also the possibility of a low temp with implantation. I know some would say it's too early, but on my pregnancy chart with my DS, I had a low temp on 5 dpo, and I put it down to implantation - I had a + hpt at 9dpo with him.

Hello Dinah, welcome to this lovely band of supportive, intelligent and determined women Smile

Flotillas - go you doing the SMEP!

I got my box of 20 digital/smiley face opks in the mail yesterday. I felt like such a silly women when I opened them, just one box (yes it may have 20 tests and is two months supply, however), and I paid $80!! I had to pay extra for postage to get it here quickly and they are just expensive I suppose? I could have bought 20 opks for about a tenth of the price, but I wanted to be sure, so I had hoped using the smiley face,I wouldn't make the mistake I made last month. I guess it's my last ditch attempt, I don't think I will buy them again - it's just too much money to throw away. Having said that, if my DH agreed, I'd throw thousands at IVF with DE, so I suppose $80 isn't all that much Hmm

Must run, I've a gym class soon.
xxx

X-post with you FF - maybe not knowing where you are at with your cycle will bring you a sneaky bfp?

I hope babyFF does the right thing and has a lovely long nap for you.

Hi all.

Have been away on holiday and now back and catching up with this thread. Hope everyone is OK.

Tried to be relaxed and dtd a lot while was away but will just have to wait and see. I think we probably stopped dtd a bit early. I was interested to hear some of you saying you actually ovulated a lot later than the smiley face said so next month I'm going to make the effort to carry on longer!

Does anyone know anything about implantation bleeding? Does it go on for a while or is it just a bit of spotting? I'm a bit worried as AF is due 20th April and then last Saturday I had a bit of bleeding which then totally went away. Am trying not to think is anything bad but also trying not to get my hopes up that it is an implantation bleed!!

Hope everyone has a good day.

cloudjumper · 14/04/2015 10:16

city - From what I know, implantation bleeding is like spotting. But I've never had it, so I could be wrong!

Thanks all for looking at my chart - I have to admit, though, that I agree with the FF chart, setting my ovulation at CD15. The problem is that my temps in the follicular phase are always so erratic, very much up and down, which often skews the cover line, IMO. I think that my cover line should be lower, around 36.4. I would take out the temp spikes on CD6 and CD12, but I don't have a real reason to do so Confused
Ovulating on CD17 would be extremely unusual for me, more unusual than any of the other WTF cycles I have had... Also, as I had a good, strong line on CD14 and a slightly less strong on CD15, and my temp then starts going up.

But - hey-ho, I will never know for certain what is going on. Maybe I'm having withdrawal symptoms from cutting out all the supplements. What I do know is that I'm out for this cycle, there is now way that I might be pregnant with this dtd timting (which FF still rates with 'Good', strangely enough). Hmph.
(Sometimes I think I am spending way too much time staring at my charts, trying to interpret patterns...)

Ruthie1967 · 14/04/2015 10:27

Quick question ladies, have any of you used progesterone cream after ovulation? I've heard it can be helpful, but I'm not entirely sure why...

cloudjumper · 14/04/2015 13:39

ruthie Progesterone is needed to help a fertilised egg to implant, it basically maintains a pregnancy in the very early stages.
From what I have heard, progesterone cream is not very effective, as you don't get relevant levels into your system just by topical application. The higher-dose progesterone is applied as a suppository, but it will have to be prescribed by a physician. Hope that helps.

Ruthie1967 · 14/04/2015 16:08

Thanks for the help cloud. I kinda hoped the cream would help as I have some left over from when were trying last year. I'll talk to my gp about all this when I go on 22nd. Thanks again. x

10000Fireflies · 14/04/2015 20:45

Gum thank you! That was exactly what I wanted to hear!! You must have read my mind!! Yes, I was hoping exactly the same, that by being a bit nonchalant my body would sneakily spring a BFP on me. But I'm so premenstrual!

Citizen sounds like implantation bleeding, though that's not something Ive experienced.

Ruthie have a look at vit B6. You can, for short periods take much more than the RDA and it's supposed to help the body make Progesterone. Which reminds me, I should be having a bit more at this point. Also, re Folic Acid, again, you can have way more than the RDA. Hope your GP agrees. The botty bullets you get from the GP are foul BTW, but don't let my experience put you off. Grin

Been a lovely day. Beautiful and sunny. Baby Fireflies napped, but then so did I!! But I guess he picked up some of those sleepy vibes, Gum. Good job after only 8 hours sleep last night.

Gotta go, bedtime duties to fulfil.

ozmund · 15/04/2015 07:13

Morning!
5dpo and not much to report, just playing the waiting game now.
Cityzen74 that spotting sounds positive - have my fingers crossed for you

Ruthie1967 · 15/04/2015 08:04

Thanks FF I take vitamin b complex every day, so I hope that'll be enough. I just can't face taking more pills than I already do - I have to take 8 at night for my bipolar disorder. I rattle when I walk Grin

Cityzen74 · 15/04/2015 09:07

Thanks everyone for your advice. I suppose now it's just waiting to see what happens.

I've been thinking about taking more supplements. I am trying very hard to remember folic acid (I do most days) but wondering if I should perhaps take some extra especially vitamin B as I am vegetarian. It's been really interesting reading all about supplements on here so I will definitely do some further investigations.

Good luck everyone.

Nemosdaughter · 15/04/2015 20:00

Hi, I hope I might join this thread even though I am not quite 40 but I very nearly am!

I am mad TTC#3 as a single parent, I've always been single and had my first 2 thanks to donors. This time round I haven't found a suitable anonymous donor so have frozen sperm from a bank.

Unfortunately this makes the timing much harder as apparently frozen sperm have a short lifespan.

jassS · 16/04/2015 07:40

Welcome Nemo and good luck with your third ttc round!

Citizen, B12 is one thing which vegetarians should add to their diet, especially when ttc and also while pg. I have seen some research that said that babies born tovegetarians have lower b12 levels than those of the omnivores and it is supposed to be an issue. Of course it can be just scaremongering from medical profession, but if you are not sure you have enough of it in your diet and you are open to supplementing, definitely do it! It is also thought to be better to take B complex rather than B12 alone, for absorption and balance of microelements, for some reason.

I started bleeding yesterday evening. Could it be period? It is 26 days post my first d&c, even if that left me with hcg in hundreds. Could my cycle have restarted immidiately then or is it just mc bleeding? Looks more like period than mc brown sludge (TMI). I have about 10-15 units of hcg still in the system, so it can also be my body trying to get rid of the last bits. Even if I know my body is ready to keep these last cells for years, I once had "evap lines" on pg tests for more than half a year after mc.....

Flying to Estonia tomorrow to cuddle GD, but my own 6yo is very angry abut me going (I go because of work, not specially to cuddle GD). He never has been cross about my travel before, but he misses the GD and also is a bot jealous at the same time for cuddliing time. He is playing nursing with me daily and requesting a baby of our own family again..... Lovely and cute, but somewhat saddening, too, cknowing we try but do not succeed!

fromwesttoeast · 16/04/2015 14:08

Hello all. Not a good update from me this week. I'm 11+2 but spotting. Pregnancy symptoms have died away, along with the embryo I suspect. Probably the beginning of the end of this pregnancy. Sad, but what can be done.

Ruthie1967 · 16/04/2015 14:46

So sad to hear that fromwesttoeast I can't imagine how bad you must feel. You have my sympathies x

fromwesttoeast · 16/04/2015 14:59

Thank you Ruthie. I called the EPU and they booked me straight in for tomorrow morning for a scan. I feel very fortunate. I thought they might ask me to wait and see, or tell me to see the GP first.
I'm totally expecting bad news. And I should know by tomorrow.

jassS · 16/04/2015 16:44

Oh no, Fromwest, Symptoms do not count anymore at this stage, they may well be gone. Worried for you, but trying to remain hopeful. Spotting is such an eerie ominous thing when you are pg.....Hoping still for the positive news tomorrow. EPU can not advise to wait and see, you are so far gone and if it is bad news with such a big pregnancy and no info how long thing may have been wrong, there is serious infection risk. I think that is why you got appointment really quickly, not that you were lucky with getting it, and lets hope luck kicks in tomorrow and baby is alive and happy.

cloudjumper · 16/04/2015 16:58

fromwest So sorry to hear about your worries! Crossing everything for you and hoping for good news tomorrow. Remember that every pregnancy is different, and bleeding is very common, very often with good outcomes! But of course you are worried Flowers

fromwesttoeast · 16/04/2015 19:46

Thanks ladies. I really cried about it this morning. And since then the bleeding has increased, although still very light.
Someone on another thread posted that there is some research being done into why some women hang on to non-viable pregnancies much longer than other women, who mc more immediately. I suspect I could be a subject in that study. It fits my history. And why I feel so lacking in hope for this one. Scan is 9:30 tomorrow. Will update when I can.

Nemosdaughter · 16/04/2015 21:24

Thanks for the welcome jassS and sorry to hear about your troubles fromwest, instincts are usually right but I hope perhaps yours are wrong at this moment in time.

ozmund · 16/04/2015 23:01

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through such a worriesome time fromwesttoeast. I'm glad you will have an answer soon.

Cityzen74 · 17/04/2015 08:41

Fromwest sorry to hear about your spotting and thinking of you at your scan this morning.

Cityzen74 · 17/04/2015 08:42

JassS - thanks for your advice about the vitamins. I think it's probably sensible to take a B supplement - it certainly can't hurt and will probably be good for me generally - so I'll get some this weekend!

fromwesttoeast · 17/04/2015 10:25

It's bad news I'm afraid. Embryo stopped developing at 7.5 weeks. Another mc for me.
Back to the ttc drawing board.
