Grizzer I am so glad to hear that everything is okay with your baby after your scan. It must have been so distressing waking up to the blood. Its good to hear that you may get the additional monitoring

Cloud hoping all goes okay with your next scan

Thank you Gerald. You have all kept me sane. Such amazing support.
Cloud we are on a roll. I have every confidence.

Total and Cloud thanks for the temp info, I have a thermometer so I think I'll try it again, nothing to lose. Think was bit worried as I do get up at diff times in the week and also in night for a wee! But like you say even with that it's possible to see a pattern. I did it with ff before too. Cloud good luck for your scan tomorrow.

Grizzer good news with your scan that's great! And gives you an answer for all the bleeding too.

So happy for you grizzer. I couldn't believe how sad your post the other day made me. Just as you start thinking that it might turn out okay. cloud good luck with your scan too

grizzer Oh, what a relief that they found the reason for the bleeding! It will probably mean that you will get extra monitoring (not necessarily a bad thing) and if it doesn't move, you'll need a CS. And apparently, it can mean that you won't feel the baby move very much, as the placenta cushions it all. But phew! Hope you can relax a bit now!
Blatantly and selfishly hoping this is a sign that my scan will be ok, too!

I'm the same Cloud. Rearranging bedrooms in my head to make room for a cot already!
I have a low anterior placenta so likely to bleed throughout apparently. Very common & not overly concerning it would seem (might have to ask mr Google about that.) saw brain, stomach, 2 legs, 2 arms & hands. Can I start to relax now......?

grizzer Thinking of you today, hope all goes well at the scan!

fatty Sorry the witch has got you! Have some Wine and tell her to b*er off again.

total Yes, I lost lots of hours pouring over my charts on FF, it's very addictive... I have to say, though, that it helped me recognise that my mcs, my cycles have become shorter and that my ovulation has moved forward and now seems to happen around CD11, rather than the CD13/14 it used to be. Not sure if that's an age thing!

I'm now 16 weeks, and my scan is at 2.30pm tomorrow, and I am dreading it. I have already become so invensted in this pg, I have started making plans thinking about names, looking at how we might manage next year when I'm on mat leave, how on earth it will affect DS... I'm trying not to, but it's impossible. Funnily, on the other hand, I thought the other day how maybe we could do a safari holiday in South Africa with DS next year and how he would love it - then reminding myself that, all going well, there is no way we can do that with a small baby. Sigh.

Hi all, thank you for all your support & well wishes over the last few days. Blood finally seems to look old today so hopefully that's it (for now at least). I'm going for a more detailed scan today where I hope to get some answers as to why it is happening.
Artio I'm so sorry for the loss of your son. How utterly devastating when he seemed to be doing well.
Glad you are feeling a bit better Emerald. This is the place to come for rants so please don't apologise.
When is your 12 week scan Flottila?
Shira my dh & I have a similar age gap. Might not help with actually getting pg but it helps with the stamina Grin.
Hope you're feeling better Vortex. Sounds like there is no reason for it not to happen. Everything crossed for you.
Sorry AF got you Fatty & Annie.
Welcome Sofia.
Thinking of you tomorrow Cloud. What time is your scan?
Waves to Jass and anyone I've missed.
My scan is at 11.20 so I'll let you know the update.

Grizzer I'm sorry you are having such a frightening time and hope you can get a proper rest. My SIL had to spend the majority of a very difficult pregnancy on bed rest but it did the trick.

Sorry Fatty and Annie about AF but I'm glad you feel you're back to normal cycles Annie and hope it's brought you some comfort.

Emerald like Cloud I temp. I'm also a little obsessed with looking at my previous cycles. And everyone else's in the bank at FF....

So immediate plus points are that you can see patterns and identify how long you're lp is and where ovulation falls more accurately than opks or possible ov pain. Therefore you're not at risk of 'early/ late periods' (because you already know your ovulation was early/ late) nor are you surprised by AF arrival. And it's free after thermometer purchase. Fertility friend makes it easy to track. If I just went by opks and followed ovia's advice I would have thought I was fertile for most of this month and that I'd had several luteal phases.

Yes it's trickier with a child who could wake up at any time and it's a bugger when you wake up two hours before your alarm's due to go off desperate for the loo but even with not ideal sleep conditions I think ovulation is usually clear.

Hi all and welcome newbies Smile.

fatty sorry AF got you, mine came today too. Day 34 after D&C which is usual period length. Currently in bed with hot water bottle as cramps are awful. What a relief though.

Thanks Cloudthats very useful information there and as I thought. I remember the fertility friend website telling me a lot about it before and I do have a basal thermometer. I think I'll see how I go for abit and maybe temp if I'm not sure.

Night ladies x

cloudjumper · 15/07/2015 23:00

emerald Ideally, yes, you should take your temp around the same time every morning, first thing, before you even get out of bed. I used to have a daily alarm set for 6am to take my temp. You also need a special basal body thermometre (you can get them from Amazon), as the usual ones don't do more than one decimal point. If you need more information, the FertilityFriend website is very useful.
However, if you have fallen pg easily in the past, there is no reason to assume that you are not ovulating and that the OPKs are enough for you. Temping opens up another path to obsession...you end up spending hours staring at graphs Grin - I speak from experience! If you feel that you are struggling to fall pg, then it might be helpful, otherwise probably not too much...

artio Sounds as if you're doing SMEP Wink Good luck with your efforts, and enjoy! Whenever I tried it, I ended up with a bladder infection Confused
And I reckon that the line you saw was an evaporation line, don't read tests after there specified time has passed! But I hope you enjoyed your wine!

grizzer How are you feeling? Hope you are getting plenty of rest and that your mattress could be rescued xx

Good luck for Downs test Grizzer think it's good idea to rest up as much as you can.

Thanks for temping advice Jass I've fallen pg first month of trying last 3x so must've ovulated but ob were no good. I might consider temping again, do you have to do it same time every day?

Report
jassS · 15/07/2015 17:38

On temping, I am not doing it myself, for the reason that I know I ovulate often enough to occasionally fall pg. If I doubted wether I did I would temp for sure. there is no other way of knowing, afraid.
