Giddy that sounds like a good plan! Before we started ttc DH and I had to discuss how we would deal with it next time (I had to have counselling/medication for a while afterwards for panic attacks anxiety PND etc) and I've decided if we're lucky enough to have DC2 I will insist on an elcs. There is a good argument for the medical need anyway but it's the only way I can face it all again. If I had to have another long labour, failed ventouse and emcs I fear for my mental health afterwards.

sammy I think there's an element of that for me too. All those beautiful new bundles, we're all aching to have that first cuddle with our own aren't we.

temperamentalamongcorvids · 10/03/2015 20:47

coffee I had a similar experience with my 1st, and had an emcs with Dc, there was no problem with getting it and it was worlds apart from the emcs.

Still not keen on obem though!

loopylou1984 · 10/03/2015 20:48

Oh coffee, it's sounds like you had a traumatic experience... You're perfectly entitled to a csection aren't you? Xx

CoffeeTwo · 10/03/2015 20:53

temp good to hear thank you, and welcome aboard :)

sammy I'm pretty sure the Nice guidelines say I'm entitled to request one and have that request considered. I'll put everything down in writing and make it very clear why it has to happen. I don't actually want another CS. I'd lovely a calm natural birth but I know that isn't going to happen and I'm not going to set myself up to fail. Thankfully I'm out of the fog now and I'm grateful my anxieties never impacted on my parenting or relationship with DS. He's my little ray of light.

Sorry for the de-rail ladies x

babsbunny · 10/03/2015 21:35

it's gone all quiet.

Is everyone watching obem?

PurdeyBirdie · 10/03/2015 21:36

Pug, what does 'PF' mean in terms of ferning? Peak fertility? If so, why the heck has it appeared on CD8 this month? Shock

Giddy, you will know when you have ewcm. The 'snotty' stuff certainly does stretch a tad (at a push) but the egg white stuff is completely transparent and will stretch two inches or more between thumb and forefinger. It really is like the slimy stuff that trails out of a snail.

What is all this nonsense about DH's ruling the telly? Over my dead body. I love OBEM and, despite the labour from hell, I watch it religiously. I will never comprehend the vagaries of childbirth. Have you see those women who turn up to hospital, clutching at their belly and crotch screaming: 'Me fookin' baby's comin'! Aaargh! Fookin' 'ell, gerruzz a wheelchair or summaaaaaaaaaaat! IT'S COMIN', IT'S COMIN', IT'S COMIN'!!' (Or was that just me? Grin) Then they stagger to a side room, lean over a bed with a Greggs meat & potato pastie in one hand and their other grasping their mobile phone because Kev, the father of their last nine kids, is still in the pub but wants to know the sex because he has a bet on - and a head pops out of their vagina. I would have loved that birth!

Nomio230 · 10/03/2015 21:40

My sister made me watch OBEM before and between that & my other sister's horror stories of labour, it almost put me off having kids! I don't dare watch it ever again.

I love your description of the miracle of birth, Purds!

PurdeyBirdie · 10/03/2015 21:42

Babs, thank you for asking. The tooth took an age to come out which suited me fine as, yes..you guessed it...I love a lie-down, me. It is fiercely painful tonight where the hole is, so I have had to resort to th'usband's Tramadol due to paracetamol doing sweet FA. Probably not a good idea when I'm about to ovulate but hey-ho.

Welcome, Temperamental. What is a 'corvid'?

I would so love to go through childbirth again. Just knowing what I was doing this time around, and how I am likely to feel about the little alien once it's home, yet not worrying because I would know that the flood of love comes in its own time and...ohhh...! I wish, I wish...

Purdey you're going to get your baby too! Hopefully in 9 months time :)

Avasmum8 · 10/03/2015 21:48

I don't tend to watch one born I see enough of that at work! (Im a midwife but newly qualified so no hard questions please!) lol AF is also 5 days late tomorrow! Don't know what is going on with my body atm I
Just wanted my AF to start trying :(

loopylou1984 · 10/03/2015 21:53

Purds, you just made me weepy, I so so want my baby... And that is precisely why I am not watching obem! Xx

nightandthelight · 10/03/2015 21:53

Thanks pug, that's what ovia does for me now so will stick to that unless I end up tempimg I think :)

fififolle · 10/03/2015 21:56

Tessie I just replied to you on the old thread too! Blush, I'll copy it over for you.

fififolle · 10/03/2015 21:59

You're welcome. She suggested the cream as she suspected that my progesterone was border line low- short luteal phase, light period after previous BFPs and my normal regular AF being exactly 2 days late last month.

Nomio230 · 10/03/2015 21:59

You will get there, Sammy. Smile

babsbunny · 10/03/2015 22:01

Glad yer gob is ok purdey.

OBEM Oh well. Cried again.

DH thinks I'm bonkers...

Purplecuddlykoala14 · 10/03/2015 22:02

No Bfp for me this month, look at the state of my chart. AF turned up yesterday. So I'll be joining the Easter bunnies on the April bus and stuffing my face with creame eggs.
I watched obem for the first time last series, I know evry ones experience will be different but I had no clue what might happen and my dm installed in me a fear of hospitals, blood, needles, being pg and giving birth. Oh and I'm not very good with pain. So I'll be asking for all the drugs when I get to that.

MARCH BUZZ..Come and get thy babbies!
wotsits1 · 10/03/2015 22:06

purdey If you swap the Gregg's pastor for a Waterfields one I would take that birth next time, thank you kindly. Mine was 23 hours with a breech baby! And I'm not very brave....

Riceicle1 · 10/03/2015 22:07

Cried at obem, So desperately want that to be me...... Had my tarrot cards read at the weekend, she said stop rushing things, things only happen when they are supposed to happen........ Sad I've just got a nagging feeling they are not meant to happen this time! oh well! blood tests next month and we shall see

temperamentalamongcorvids · 10/03/2015 22:13

purdey corvids are a group of birds (maybe a genus?) including crows, ravens, and jackdaws.

Should I just do a post with my stats in it? Not sure I could add to the spreadshit from my phone.

wotsits1 · 10/03/2015 22:15

Oh and Purdey ... you will get your baby too! If Th'usband keeps splitting out 6ml of spermz I reckon your gonna have a netball team of em!

ThePug · 10/03/2015 22:16

Are you all cheating on us MNers by becoming real life Facebook friends???

Watched Masterchef so didn't see OBEM. In fact, I've never watched it! Might have to sneakily watch it on 4od (totally not DH's thing, but I think it would be useful).

wotsits1 · 10/03/2015 22:17

So ladies... should your birth coincide with the filming of the next season of One Born... (and obvs you're in the vicinity of Liverpool Women's) do you let them film you?
