Happy Friday everyone!

coffee I think the main benefit for temping is that you should be able to confirm by your increase in temps that you've actually ovulated, and after the first couple of cycles are done you should see a pattern to help predict ov. In theory anyway, I'm only on cycle 2 of it myself so yet to see a pattern! Cm and opk are only going to tell you that your body is getting ready for ov, but it doesn't confirm whether your egg was released. At the same time, you can't rely solely on temping because it will only tell you you've ovulated after the event. So it's best to monitor all three to maximise your chances! I'm not an expert, but I hope that helps!

if ff has given you an ov date then it's used the only available info, which would be your positive opk and cm pattern, but these on their own cannot confirm ovulation.

If anyone is considering temping I would highly recommend picking up a copy of 'taking charge of your fertility', it's my ttc bible!!!

coffeenut · 14/03/2015 02:21

so sorry dizzymerry Sad

thanks so much for the info Dizzynorthernbird (so many dizzys!). I'll keep up the temping. Only second month of keeping track of things and FF has predicted today as first fertile day, sure enough have just seen some ewcm although the opk still negative (but faint line). Temp has been flat for the last few days (I guess that's normal until ov happens, may have to read up on it!). Nice that my fertile period seems to coincide with the weekend! Not so nice that DH has woken up with rotten conjunctivitis. Lucky illness doesn't ever really seem to put him off . Well, apart from toddlers that don't sleep and toddle into our bed at 11pm. Fingers x'd for this month.

Sweets27 · 14/03/2015 12:44

Hi ladies, hope you're all having nice weekends. Welcome to everyone from the march bus, sorry AF got you but this is a very nice bus so far and we are convinced April will bes good month! Smile

CD10 for me, prepping for this month's DTD-athon...

DizzyMerry · 14/03/2015 12:49

Thanks dizzynorthernbird I will get a copy of the book and try temping this cycle.
I'm getting confused myself with the dizzys! Confused I am known as merry on the March bus to avoid confusion so happy for the same to apply here if it helps

MelonMelon · 14/03/2015 13:46

Hi ladies. Nervously stepping back on to the buses. I remember a few names from the January bus sorry to see you still here!

stats: Melon age 28 ttc #1 cycle 3 CD8

feeling a lot of pressure to conceive this cycle as I had a MC last year and baby would have been due on 2nd April which is when my next AF is due.....hoping for a miracle to get me through what will be a rough day!

loopylou1984 · 14/03/2015 15:08

Hi everyone, hope you're having good weekends? Is anyone else having problems with accessing this thread from the app? Every time I click on it the app crashes - I've had to log on to the mobile site to post this. All other threads are ok though.... Weird! Xx

tessiegirl · 14/03/2015 15:18

Hello MelonMelon I remember you from before....sorry to see you but pleased to see you, if you know what I mean! Must be a tough time for you, I'm sorry Flowers I so hope you get your special miracle

I am on CD4 and feeling miserable and snappy with DH. He can't do anything right, bless him. He has gone round neighbours to watch rugby so sat feeling very sorry for myself. He even took the cat with him! Sad

MelonMelon · 14/03/2015 17:18

Tessie the cat bit made me giggle!

I've got a girls night out tonight which will be nice, good to get dressed up and out of the jeans for a change!

Thanks for your kind words Smile I've got some digital OPKS reading to go. Ever feel like the more you spend on all this crap means you're guaranteed a BFP?! If only it were that easy....

Cariad2014 · 14/03/2015 17:57

Melon - I also seem to subscribe to the completely illogical theory that the more you spend on opks, vitamins, Preseed etc, the more likely you are to get upduffed! It hasn't worked for me yet though! I shall be keeping everything crossed that you get your BFP in time for your April EDD. I know from experience how tough these deadlines can be. My next EDD is 25 May and I am desperate to have a BFP by then.

Tessie- - loving the fact that your DH has taken the cat with him! I'm also a rugby widow this afternoon. Super pleased with Wales's win though. Fancy sharing some wine to celebrate Victoria?!?!

Feeling really sorry for my DH right now, I've been such a hormonal mess the last few weekends (I even burst into tears over breakfast in a local cafe last weekend), and he's being so unbelievably supportive.

Trixie - liking the idea of reflexology in Forest Hill - if you wouldn't mind dropping me a PM with their details then that would be great.

Thanks to everyone who voiced their frustrations at my GP's reluctance to send me for tests. I've been contemplating moving surgeries for quite a while now (although I'm conscious that the answer somewhere else might be no different) but I may well do so.

Apologies for the mammoth post.

coffeenut · 15/03/2015 00:56

Welcome melon and sorry about your miscarriage. Fingers crossed for a bfp! I found it helpful to plan a really nice day out with dh on the edd of my mc (almost 10 yrs ago now).

Dh threw out my ov stick before I read it this morning grr! And Stuffed my temps this morning as slept in until 10aM! By the time I took it it was .3 below usual.

Sorry you're feeling miserable Tessie and cariad .... I would try swapping cariad, hopefully you will get a more sympathetic gp if nothing else

cremedecacao · 15/03/2015 11:00

Welcome melon!

Ok, so you might remember I mentioned I was taking mucous cough medicine and evenin primrose and drinking grapefruit juice? Seems to be working! I'm on cd11 and for the first time since my first pregnancy in oct (ended in a mmc) I have a decent amount of ewcm and certainly feeling very, er, slidey! No idea if I can put it down to any of the things I am taking or just nature, but might be worth a shot for some of you!

loopylou1984 · 15/03/2015 11:15

Thanks Creme, I might try the EPO. I've done cough medicine and grapefruit and not sure it's done much.
I did have a lot of 'wet' cm yesterday but still negative opk... I haven't done today's test yet... Xx

auroraboringalis · 15/03/2015 12:12

Ho ho ho. Or is that the wrong season? Flowers
Kicked off march bus even though I was running the gin terrace! such ingratitude from my body! by hideously short 5day lp!

Auroraboringalis, late 30s, actively TTC #2 for 4 months but cycles probably anovulatory due to breastfeeding, CD10, bfp ~5 April depending on lh/ov.

OwEmGee · 15/03/2015 20:09

Taking the plunge and hopping on my first ever bus! Terrified and excited in equal measures. My stats:

OwEmGee, 35, ttc #1, cycle 1, BFP due April 2nd

Other than tracking my periods and possible dates, I'm not doing much else (no chartings, no temps, no OPK's) is this normal?

loopylou1984 · 15/03/2015 20:21

Today's opk turned out to be positive.... So perhaps the grapefruit juice did cause the watery cm after all! Assuming I'll ovulate tomorrow, bfp now due 30th March.... I'm on the March bus too - is that allowed? X

Sweets27 · 15/03/2015 22:03

Fx sammy! Yes I'm sure you're allowed to be on both buses Wink we're starting off slowly and quietly here, so if you're wanting more chat the march bus is nice. I just can't keep up on there any more!!

Welcome ohemgee! Hope it all goes very well for you. I am due close to you, 1 April. We're starting to dtd like mad atm, based on recent cycles I'll ov on Wednesday so all systems go! How about you?

Riceicle1 · 15/03/2015 22:31

38, cycle 6, ttc 5,af due 5th April ###### not really trying this month (due to -inconsiderate- dh being away in Portugal when I am due to ovulate ) but hey.... Stranger things have happened! Sorry to see lots of familiar faces on here, but at least you are all wonderful company Smile on this frustrating journey!

loopylou1984 · 15/03/2015 22:49

Thanks Sweets, I find it difficult to keep up on there too!

How very rude riceicle! Lol. Is it a work trip?

I'm not sure what's going on with my phone app, but I can't access this thread from it :(.
Anyone else having this problem? Xx

coffeenut · 15/03/2015 22:51

Welcome owemgee!. Welcome over to April aurora!

Big temp drop this morning (I can sort of start to see why so many temp now, it's actually a bit exciting?!) & positive opk, & ov pain. I really don't want to miss it this month, bit worried as I think the time between surge and egg for me is quite short. Dtd last night and for last three nights. Will also go for it tonight. So hope this is the month!

auroraboringalis · 16/03/2015 05:32

Thanks coffee. I'm currently having coffee. Grin

Riceicle1 · 16/03/2015 08:00

No sammy it's a golf trip Angry

tessiegirl · 16/03/2015 09:28

Hello all!! Hope you all had lovely weekends. I was pretty vile all over the weekend tbh Sad. Poor DH! I think I had a bit of pmt mixed with feeling homesick with it being mother's day. Ah well, new week, new start, AF is nearly over so things are looking up!

creme can I ask how much epo are you taking everyday?

mummyofonesofar · 16/03/2015 09:31

SammyLou I think I might ov today or have already ov'd too so am technically back on the March bus after thinking I would miss out due to stupid long cycle last month.

victoria401 · 16/03/2015 11:28

Officially on this bus now

Victoria401, 34 ttc#1 cycle 30 bfp due April 14th (my blimin 35th birthday Sad )

OwEmGee · 16/03/2015 12:02

Sweets27 - according to my calendar (am using Pink Pad, couldn't get on with Fertility Friend) I am a fertile myrtle from yesterday until Thursday, so am just going for it all this week, much to DH's delight!

FX for us both early in April, this could have some great April Fools Day joke mileage ;-)

Is it best just to go for it on all possible ovulation dates, or should I space it out a bit?? (novice first timer here!!)
