I have been having reflexology for stress and fertility for the past year, once a month. I don't know why I'm still bothering as its dh with the fertility issues! But it is kinda nice and relaxing and the lady is a good listener of my woes in an impartial way :-)

Just called in sick, I am Minging :-(

Cariad2014 · 11/03/2015 07:58

Morning all! Waves at my cycle twins Wotsits and Dizzy and my almost cycle twins Trixie and Victoria.

Victoria - I also turn a year older on this bus (sob), I think I might even be due to ov on my Birthday!

Southy - I've had acupuncture since September and find it really good at de-stressing me. It also seems to have lengthened my lp (which to my mind can only be a good thing). There have been plenty of acupuncture success stories on these buses although I know not everyone's a fan.

Tammie - I don't want to get your hopes up too much but what you've described could be implantation bleeding, so It may well be worth POAS.

Trixie - I'm with you in loving Spring. How fabulous would it be if we were all stroking our bumps or holding our newborns come Christmas day. Grin

Yay cariad & wotsits cycle buddies! I've not had a buddy yet and this month I get two! Grin

I'm also a spring fan, I love the springtime sunshine when it's just starting to warm up, Daffs and crocuses come out and the trees start to show their first blush of green Smile, it's just so uplifting.

wotsits1 · 11/03/2015 09:03

wooooo cariad and dizzy... good things happen in threes, no?

tammie49 · 11/03/2015 09:20

Thanks Cariad I took a test this morning and it was negative. my periods have been really light since I came off bcp and the Dr says it's nothing to worry about but it worries me a bit; there just doesn't seem to be enough! DP is making an appt today so once he's done that at least we'll know what we're working with!
had my birthday recently too. always brings on a bit of a life crisis.

victoria401 · 11/03/2015 10:31

Bugger, just counted the days since I think I ovd..... Due af on Saturday when I'm away for my romantic weekend with dh! Hope its not too debilitating :-( painwise that is. Nothing to with the dtd as he has his sa on Monday. Need to abstain 3-5 days so latest we can dtd is Thursday/Fri. Doubt he will want to shag this Snotty mass either so I think he will have to go solo!

TrixieRay · 11/03/2015 10:58

Cariad, we will be!! I told DH if we're not expecting by this Xmas I want to go away somewhere really hot and exotic- he agreed only because he doesn't think it will happen.

Southy, I had acupuncture last year, think I have tried everything to get my BFP! I found it relaxing, had some herbs to drink too which tasted pretty vile. Used to have really painful AF and had first AF without needing painkillers after acupuncture. I have switched to reflexology as I found a lady down the road from me and it is cheaper, I absolutely love it! It is so relaxing and it almost feels like a therapy session as the lady who does it is lovely.

Hope you feel better soon Victoria Flowers Grr, I hate it when AF gatecrashes a weekend away- so rude.

victoria401 · 11/03/2015 13:14

Hmmm the reflexology has not helped with af pain... Mind you I used go see her pre ov and she could massage my reproductive bits (ooo errr!) Lately I've been in the 2ww when I've seen her so she leaves those bits alone as not to affect an embryo implanting. I must change the dates to be pre-ov again....

tessiegirl · 11/03/2015 16:15

Yay Creme! Must be our turn then surely?! X

Southy84 · 11/03/2015 23:02

So I went for my free consultation with the acupuncturist and feeling a bit low to be honest. The lady basically said we should both be going back to the dr for tests as although we were told we were both ok about 4 years ago a lot can happen in that time, it was kinda of a reality shock that maybe things aren't ok anymore. I think I've been trying to kid myself and think it's time to get back to the dr.

The lady also said I should be temping but the while idea of that stresses me out. I don't sleep great anyway and am a chronic worrier so if I have bad temp charts I know I will just worry! She also said for fertility benefits she should ideally see me once a week, the first app is £60 for two hours and the weekly appointments will be £37... I just feel torn because I so want a baby but can I justify that money, thinking I may postpone the acupuncture and just see a Dr first.

Maybe hearing that was what I needed to get me back to the dr. Just HATE all the tests :( plus there will be questions at wrk no doubt.

Sorry for ranting, I wanted today to be positive. But I feel far from it

Sweets27 · 11/03/2015 23:17

Yay for being cycle triplets creme and sammy! Does good luck come in 3s?? Grin

Southy sorry you had such a bad experience today. I'm not sure what I can say to help as I haven't been trying that long or been through all the tests that you have, but firstly don't place too much weight on what she said. She is an acupuncturist not a fertility doctor, and of course it's in her interest to suggest you spend more money doing more sessions.

Do you think it may be worth going back to the doc, though? Maybe it's one of those things you just have to bite the bullet and do, even if you know it's a bit gruelling. If it's likely to increase your chance of getting your BFP maybe it's worth it. On the other hand, if it's going to stress you out too much, it might be counterproductive.

Sorry, not a very helpful answer. If only there were just one obvious "right" way to get your BFP!

MalibuDaisy · 11/03/2015 23:50

Oh hell. Why not? TTC #1, Cycle 2. In an irrationally pissy mood because it didn't happen first time because it's me not because it's me, just because it didn't. Not holding out much hope for April due to DH's being mostly away during fertile period, but I'll do my best to make sure we give it a crack :) BFP due no sooner than April 10th because I've learnt my lesson about symptom-spotting and early testing! No more! Age 35 :)

cremedecacao · 12/03/2015 00:02

Lets hope so Sweets Grin

I'm on it this month. Taking a dose of mucous cough medicine and a glass of grapefruit juice every day, as well as evening primrose and folic acid. Bring it on!!!

BabyBumpHopeful · 12/03/2015 00:53

Marking my place!!

######### BabyBumpHopeful, 31, TTC#1, Cycle 2, BFP due April 4 #########

coffeenut · 12/03/2015 04:57

southy I agree with sweets - she's just an acupuncturist. I'm really not a fan of tests at the doctor either so can sympathise but maybe better now than later and would definitely go to the doctor over the acupuncturist. Especially if you're a worrier, better to know what you're dealing with than worry unnecessarily. Re temping - I've just started, have recorded for the last week, and I'm not sure I'm going to find it useful. For one thing, I sleep terribly and for another, my 2 yr old still wakes every night and I doubt I get three hrs unbroken sleep most nights. So if it stresses you out, don't do it - it's not like it's a necessary part of getting preggers!

DD2 was born in December & it's a fab time to have a baby. Everyone is in a festive mood!

welcome to the newbies, chesty malibu etc!

Southy84 · 12/03/2015 08:01

Thank you sweets and coffee I'm going to get a grip and make a Dr appointment. Think I'm still kicking myself about having to go through all the tests again.

Welcome malibu hope this is your month :) my dh works away a lot too which makes it difficult but I'm am feeling determined this month!!

Cariad2014 · 12/03/2015 08:28

Morning all. AF arrived this morning, right on cue!

Tammie - sorry about the BFN. There's nothing worse than being stuck in limbo land, you have my sympathies.

Southy - Sorry you had such a negative experience with the acupuncturist but as they say, knowledge is power, so it sounds as though some medical tests are the right way to go.

I'm also wondering when we should have some tests. My GP was useless and suggested not doing anything for another year, but I can't wait that long. We'd need to go privately, so I wonder whether June (i.e. Cycle 7 after my ectopic) would be a good time. I just want some reassurance that my remaining tube is clear, particularly as my BFPs were after 2 and 3 cycles respectively last year, so it's already taking longer this time around.

DizzyNorthernBird · 12/03/2015 09:04

southy sorry it didn't work out with the acupuncturist. There seems to be so much conflicting information out there as to whether acupuncture actually works anyway, it's an awful lot of money to waste if you find out later it's not working for you. On the other hand there seems to be so many people having bad experiences with doctors when it comes to fertility issues too- there doesn't seem to be any right answer so I can see why you're struggling with what to do. Sorry if that's not helpful.

Regarding the temping, I'm a big fan of it so far, it will at least show whether or not you're ovulating which is a start. If you did decide to give it ago, try not to let it stress you out too much. It's about establishing a pattern in your temps, yes you're supposed to do it at the same time every day but this last week after AF I've chilled out a bit and I'm just temping as and when I wake up, I'm convinced that it's not making an awful lot of difference to the overall pattern on my chart. A temp rise is a temp rise, a difference of 0.0? Degs or so isn't going to make a massive amount of difference imo.

Hey to others joining! malibu, you caved! Nice to have you here!
