Congrats people with BFPs! Amazing news. I am off though as AF is well and truly here and next BFP due date is 1st April! Good luck everyone!

dojo123 · 05/03/2015 17:21

Sweets Sorry AF has arrived Flowers you can join me as we enter into cycle no.3.

Sparkly If you think you and your DH are going great guns, but I agree if you OVd previously around CD17 I would do it again today.
My chart for last month was also quite rocky before I OVd.

Sparkly123 · 05/03/2015 17:25

Dojo how you doing?Cycle 3 is a lucky one! Wink Yep I think we shall go for it again! Did a bit of reading today on every day versus every other day and really there seems to be no reason not to if his sperm count is good.. So it's a go! Ha.

Sparkly123 · 05/03/2015 17:25

Sorry creme fingers crossed for next cycle for you Flowers

PurdeyBirdie · 05/03/2015 17:25

Sparkly, thank you for such uplifting words of kindness. So many of you today have made me feel so much better. I am very grateful that there is graciousness and kindness and care on here. Sparkly, it look sas though you ov'd on CD16, no? Perhaps next cycle you could start AI on the first of your peak days and continue until the day after ov. That's if your amazing hubby is knackered, of course Wink

Mummy, thank you for being so understanding of how I feel about motherhood at the moment. This child is my pride and joy and makes my heart burst but, boy is it often tedious! I went to a baby group this morning with DH and I actually felt like crying it was so...well...you know.

MaMa, you are a good-hearted woman and I thank you for offering to talk in private. I may just take you up on that. You made me think hard about myself today (what am I going to do about how I am feeling? Practice what you preach: demand help from the GP. Mindfulness takes practice and is not supposed to be easy). So, I have made an appointment with a different GP (a woman) and I will ask specifically for CBT. Thank you for giving me a shake.

I am thankful to all of you who have listened and offered support and hugs. It means a heck of a lot to me Thanks

PurdeyBirdie · 05/03/2015 17:28

Genni, I am grinning from ear to ear Grin Congratulations, lovely. I hope you can very soon not only believe in this pregnancy but thoroughly enjoy it, too Thanks

Sparkly123 · 05/03/2015 17:29

Purdey Purdey we love you , Purdey Purdey yes we do! Is that the kinda cringe you get at baby class?! Glad you feel slightly uplifted although I wish we could all do more! Flowers yes! That's it! Rambo is back.. Get to that gp with your demands!!
Next cycle you say? But of course I'll have a BFP by then and this will all be worth it...Wink

HeirToTheIronThrone · 05/03/2015 17:42

Well Purdey If it helps to boost you, you inspired me to get a little bit more Rambo on my GP today so brought up the ttc thing after we'd spoken about my other issue, with the upshot that I have a blood test first thing tomorrow to check progesterone levels, and he wants DH to ring him to arrange a sperm test! And I'm not sure I would have done it without the encouragement of you lot. At least now I am taking the first steps to find out if there's anything more we can do to help things along.

PurdeyBirdie · 05/03/2015 17:45

Yes, where is Glittery with her update? I hope she is busy celebrating.

Aw, Sweets, sorry for your disappointment.

Sparko, I actually don't think rocky pre-ov temps mean very much. I am so excited that this is your month! SmileThanks

Wotsits, I love your idea for a contraption that could tell us at at 3dpo whether an egg's been fertilised! How much mental 2ww torture would that assuage Hmm

wotsits1 · 05/03/2015 17:51

Purdey... Hope you're ok. I think seeking help is a fab idea. Motherhood is wonderful but its also monotonously filled with infantile routine. I went back to work 2 days when DD was 10 month. My sanity was restored. I also have the utmost faith in counselling. I've done group counselling and one to one and it really changed me. I went from having anxiety getting on a bus to trekking in China. My GP was wonderful. Hope you get sorted chick! You are a rock to so many on here... time for some Purdey time.

Dojo... my GCSE in Science was a bust. Will a degree in design help us in our dragons den mission?

Genni... Can you go to the early pregnancy clinic? after my mmc they told me to come with any concerns. I phones then when I got pregnant and they scanned me looooads to put my mind at ease (5 weeks, 7 weeks and 9 weeks)

PurdeyBirdie · 05/03/2015 17:52

Oh, Heir, I'm chuffed to buggery you Rambo'd the GP! What CD are you tomorrow?

Sparkly, Hickory Dickory Dock and Incey Wincey Spider were the songs entrenched into my brain this morning. It wasn't just that, though; there was a snot-nosed kid os about 18 months whose nose was so awash with candlestick rivers of snot that I ended up wiping it myself. Mum was too busy eating the childrens' snacks and texting on her phone. I do find the sight of a bank of mothers all engrossed in their phones at a baby group mighty depressing.

PurdeyBirdie · 05/03/2015 17:55

Wotsits, thank you for sharing your experiences and being generally nice. Trekking in China! Whereabouts did you go? I visited Hainan once and was almost raped by a fishmonger. Which was nice Hmm

spinningirl10 · 05/03/2015 18:00

Wotsit, loving the Dragons Den idea, do it, you'll be super rich!
Ooh China is somewhere I'd love to goSmile

Purdey, so pleased you've made an appointment, I really hope the doc can put you on the right road.

Genni, I wonder if you'll be able to keep your secret from dh. I'm rubbish with secretsGrin

loopylou1984 · 05/03/2015 18:02

What a chatty afternoon! The bus is getting full already.

Purdey, hope you're doing ok, I echo what everyone else has said. I don't know what I'd do here without you Smile

Hopefully some othe long timers might be able to help me... I'm trying to find out how long we have to have been trying before we can have nhs IVF. I've been pointed towards a couple of websites but still haven't found this part of the puzzle, any ideas anyone? Xx

Sparkly123 · 05/03/2015 18:06

Purdey it totally is our month didn't you know? I'm on it. BFP due Mother's Day.. So is meant to be.. Right? RIGHT?! I feel so much more relaxed This cycle, have no idea why... This could change of course but I'm hoping not! Yeh baby group sounds great!! Hmm one of my friends makes me feel particularly bad about my outside view of motherhood.. Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware that what you say you will do/not do before you actually have a baby is quite different to the reality.. But sometimes I look around and just think .. Really?!.. Myself and my husband both had a stable upbringing and loved it, why does everything have to be oh so different now?! My friends have already told me how everything in our house shall need to change when we have a baby, and when we do there will be no possibility of this or that.. And that we better prepare ourselves and read this book and that book and we must do this or that.. And it's lovely that people want to give advice but sometimes it's all a bit much? I mean our parents managed fine without baby proofing every single detail of their house right?
ok feel free to unleash on me now, I hope I haven't offended the whole thread with children already Hmm

Heir I'm so pleased you went to the gp! I never understand why they are reluctant to do these things! Fantastic news to get ball rolling and one more thing to get you closer to that BFP! Hope bloods go ok Tomor lovely Flowers

Wotsits wow what a great transformation well done girly. I think counselling is wonderful too! More people should do it!! And that device is perfect, I remember saying that to dh last cycle.. Why can't we just know at least if egg has fertilised as a starting point!!! Come on science people sort it out!!

wotsits1 · 05/03/2015 18:06

Seriously Purdey.. a book!!! I went to Beijing, Jinshanling, Simitai, Gubeikou and Badaling. Basically followed the Great Wall away from the touristy bits (seriously.... there's a Subway at the wall nearest to Beijing. Foot long BMT anyone? Not very picturesque). Was amazing! You can zip line off the wall at Simitai. Would recommend!

wotsits1 · 05/03/2015 18:08

Sammilou... My sister and best friend both had ivf. If you are under 35 they won't even look at you unless you've been trying for a year. Over 35 is 6 months.

pulpi · 05/03/2015 18:08

Hi Purdey, sorry about the delay in my response. I was flying back from Canada. My PhD is in 18th-century British literature.

I'm so happy to see the end of it because it means that I can start (hopefully) this new part of my life without it hanging over my head. I think all stress I was under must have affected my fertility levels as well. Fingers crossed for this month.... although it does mean I cannot celebrate with alcohol for much longer....

HeirToTheIronThrone · 05/03/2015 18:10

Purdey I will be CD24 tomorrow, he said the test should be about 7 days before AF is due which would be CD31 if the same as my last cycle - so good job I asked today!

wotsits1 · 05/03/2015 18:10

OK... Sparkly, Spinning and Dojo... we need to get this device sorted! I'm emailing Peter Jones and Duncan Bannatyne tonight!!

Sparkly123 · 05/03/2015 18:11

Sammy did you check NICE guidelines on IVF or does it not reference individual locations? I think it may depend on your postcode for actual referral . I know some people who have to wait for two years for referral but others who only waited six months. But I think -if I'm correct- that you have to have been trying about two years without conception? I hope that I'm not wrong on that, I'm sure someone will correct me if so, but I'm
Sure I read that on NHS.

loopylou1984 · 05/03/2015 18:20

We've been trying for about 16 months Sparkly, will be 18 by the time we see the specialist. I did try the nice website, but I couldn't find anything about specific areas, just the general information. I might be missing something though, will have another look tonight. Xx

Sparkly123 · 05/03/2015 18:22

Sammy here's the NICE guideline, I would def give it a read so you know what you are entitled to etc. I did that before my fertility app and found it helpful.

www.nice.org.uk/guidance/cg156/resources

Sparkly123 · 05/03/2015 18:24

Sammy Nice says :

A woman of reproductive age who has not conceived after 1 year of unprotected vaginal sexual intercourse, in the absence of any known cause of infertility, should be offered further clinical assessment and investigation along with her partner

Sparkly123 · 05/03/2015 18:25

So one year Sammy and then referral basically. I found more info on my local NHS fertility hospital website relating to the actual waiting time etc specific to my area. Hope that helps Flowers
