Hi Amyy - well it depends what my temperatures do, but if they're still high I guess I'll test tomorrow. I really don't feel like I'll have to though, X

Amyyy27 · 02/03/2015 15:15

Ah well Sammy keeping everything crossed for you! :)

PurdeyBirdie · 02/03/2015 15:22

Spinning, my surge literally lasts a few hours and then becomes a negative.

Oyster, I think it depends on how long ttc is taking. At first it is lots of fun and the frequent sex sessions are a novelty. Fast forward twelve months and you're not having so much fun. The panic sets in that you are infertile and will never have a baby. Perhaps you've had a miscarriage or a cp along the way which makes your journey now fraught with anxiety, pressure and desperation.

There is no way around it - we have to have sex at the right time or that's yet another month wasted. I think couples have to be real and honest about their expectations around the woman's fertile window. She can't honestly expect him, a year down the line, to still be wanting to have sex five nights in a row when she thinks she's fertile. He also needs to know he is sexually attractive at other times of the month, too. Random blowjobs are an excellent idea and this is how I keep things exciting when we are not self-inseminating.

DH & I gave up attempting to have sex around ovulation time quite recently. He already had stage fright issues when we met but our ttc journey has destroyed him. My libido is pretty non-existent due to the horrors of failed ejaculation and missed opportunities and failure-to-launch-resentment over the past three years. Thank goodness our IVF worked - we wouldn't be together now if we didn't have Nancy. I would have left him and prostituted myself til I became pregnant, so desperate was I for a baby. I exaggerate slightly, but you get my drift.

I'm sorry if I have sounded cynical regarding men's screening for sexual diseases. I don't want to denigrate anybody's relationship or trust of their husband. However, I think it's important not to leave Juney feeling like she is being stupid and reckless buying sperm from a donor when she is, in fact, doing nothing more risky than any of us have done in deciding to have children with our unscreened partners. Some people have limited choices when they are desperate for children but I don't think they are necessarily more risk-taking than any of us by choosing to use an unofficial donor. This stuff costs money. A lot of money. And it doesn't grow on trees.

BabyBumpHopeful · 02/03/2015 15:33

... ugh and she was sick again at 7.30am.

Arrived at work and the door was locked "It's Monday right?" I thought then remembered my colleague has jury duty. No-one else is here... I can totally fall asleep under my desk right?

I did end up taking my temp at 7.15 (knowing it was useless) and it was 96.56 which is way low. I thought that was interesting. I thought it went up with little sleep but some people have it go down too... weird and possibly means nothing or something.

Grand!

Mumof1sofar · 02/03/2015 15:36

Oyster it took us about 5 cycles to get a bfp the first time round & I eventually conceived during an amazing holiday in Italy. I definitely think the sunshine & relaxation helped. Hmm if only we could have another lovely holiday this time around Grin

Amyyy27 · 02/03/2015 15:37

Baby you can totally fall asleep! Or... swap places with me pleeeease??? Grin

BabyBumpHopeful · 02/03/2015 15:48

Apparently the clients didn't get the memo that I should sleep and instead they wanted me to answer the phone, schedule appointments etc etc. Mean mean people.

Why do you want to swap Amy? suspicious of a trick

Riceicle1 · 02/03/2015 15:54

mummy I had it last month it's called lightning crotch! Apparently it's a good sign (but wasn't for me last month!) it was painful as well, just like someone stabbing me up the hooha with a machete Sad

Amyyy27 · 02/03/2015 15:54

Damn Baby you got me :( having a hell of a day here, unfortunately I have to work with total inconsiderate freaking A-holes! I wouldn't put you through it anyway! Home time soon though woohoo!

Riceicle1 · 02/03/2015 15:57

So I totally lied in my previous post and promptly ran off to asda and stocked up on sticks. As soon as I got in I poas (not fmu and just a cheapie) and I think I see a line, now it could be because I didn't wee in a cup because I was too impatient to get one and wee has gone on the wrong bit, but here it is ( what do you think?) I am only 9dpo and will try again with fmu.

Oysterbabe · 02/03/2015 15:58

Thank you for your detailed response Purdey. He's very keen at the prospect of loads of sex now (cycle 3) but I can just see how this will change with time and how easy it would be to get frustrated with him if he couldn't perform when I needed him to.
Looks like I should be ovulating during our honeymoon in Barbados in May so fx for then if not before!

BabyBumpHopeful · 02/03/2015 15:59

I've got wicked cramping. Was sure AF was coming today (CD32 and all that) but still nothing YAY! Maybe tired is a symptom! and you can pretend you didn't read about my dog waking me early-ass-thirty

Talk about Knicker watch! I wonder if I have a bladder infection, I feel like I need to pee but I just (literally just, a minute ago, did). Hmmm.

You know what's weird is I never get cramping before AF comes, but I did last cycle as well... wonder if it's the multi-vitamins/folic acid? It's not likely I just ignored this before right? Being a woman is weird.

Riceicle1 · 02/03/2015 16:06

So I just got it out of the bin to have a second look..... And there is nothing there, I am deluded! Sad and angry at myself now Angry

chasingtherainbow · 02/03/2015 16:11

Rice I definitely see somthing on that test but, these need to be dipped in a cup so dipping it into flow is likely to feck it up. X

Amyyy27 · 02/03/2015 16:17

Riceicle that's so strange as I can see a line for sure...!

Amyyy27 · 02/03/2015 16:18

Oh I didn't read the cup bit sorry! Take one in the morning fmu and see how it goes! FX! :)

scrunchiemount · 02/03/2015 16:19

Riceicle don't worry, just try again with FMU! 8dpo is sooo super early.

DizzyNorthernBird · 02/03/2015 16:22

Good post purdey. juney I hope I didn't offend you in bringing up the std screening issue. I was just intrigued, I assume sperm bank donors are screened first and I was wondering whether the guys on the donation website are too.

purdey I'm totally with you on the dental work, give me a big needle and a drill on numb teeth any day over pokey proddy teeth cleaning equipment. I swear she was rubbing sandpaper in between my teeth at one point! I'm also off to Drs next week to get my ears blasted clean! Have had enough of hearing distant fire alarms when I'm trying to sleep at night!!

juneybean · 02/03/2015 16:28

Not at all dizzy it's a relevant question and exactly why I won't just go out and sleep with someone on a one night stand (and I wouldn't know what to do!)

Sperm Bank donors are screened completely and that's why I feel gutted I can no longer afford to buy more.

chasingtherainbow · 02/03/2015 16:32

Juney that sucks majorly. I really hope it pans out and you get good spermies. I'll be sending you lots of bfp-y vibes.

juneybean · 02/03/2015 17:04

Think I'm rusting guys, discharge is watery and rust coloured!

Nomio230 · 02/03/2015 17:05

Wow, so much to catch up on! CD11 for me. No sign of ov yet, but we are dtd eod. We are going through a phase of really good sex at the minute, so it feels like a lot more fun than it has recently. DH is also being really good about taking all his supplements & even keeps checking that I have had mine!

juney, I feel for you. I can understand your worry about unscreened guys, but also your desperation to just get some sperm up there! Could you speak to the guy you choose & suggest getting tested? Lots of places offer free STD tests.

I have been tested as part of the ttc process, but was pretty low risk anyway. DH has only ever slept with a couple of people & always used protection, so I know I am safe with him.

spinning I get the same thing. Smiley face, then if I poas the next day, there is just an empty circle. It does say in the instructions to stop poas after you get a positive though.

spinning/boris, I completely get how you feel. We have been through the same thing a couple of times now. I think it is inevitable when you have been trying for a long time. DH starts to feel under pressure & you start to resent that he is witholding your chance to get pg.

All I can say is keep talking. I also find it helps to have sex at other times of the month even though you can't be bothered, rather than just when you are ov.

Most importantly, try to remember that this is just a phase. You have your whole lives together & this is just a blip in the big picture.

dizzy, my cousin has a cockapoo. They are sooooo cute! I used to have a Springer Spaniel, but had to leave him when I left my ex. I loved him, he was my crazy little guard dog. Smile

chasingtherainbow · 02/03/2015 17:05

Juney I forget when do you test?

I had "golden" cm before my last bfp. ?!?!

Nomio230 · 02/03/2015 17:06

Good luck to everyone planning to attend the poas party on Friday. It would be so cool if you all got BFPs!

chasingtherainbow · 02/03/2015 17:07

Ohhh I'd love to poas with all of you. But really I think I'd only be 11 dpo so too early.

keeping up with this thread feels like a fill time job Grin stop talking so fast
