Juney I don't know anything about it at all but can the Dr/hospital put you in touch with some safer sites where they have all been checked? Also just a thought but would the chosen man want joint custody?

Call me reckless but it has never occurred to me to ask a serious boyfriend to get screened. I think this probably boils down to the fact that I have almost certainly had more sexual partners than them (250+).

I'm not interested particularly in a man's sexual past; there are far more worrying peccadilloes he could be hiding than a bout of crabs.

I once attended a fab lecture at uni that was called 'talking to men about their penis'. It was fab, it was part of a unit on masculinity and HIV. Sooooo I've been trying my ovulation tests and today (cd 11) we have a line. I know ov tests aren't like preg test where any line is a line, but is this positive? I'd be surprised if it was on cd 11 but I just wanted to check in case I miss out!

It does worry when I read about the affect of ttc on the sex life, as I guess it's bound to.
What's the best way to try and minimise these issues do you think?
I'll probably try and keep my OH slightly sheltered from the specifics of temps, CM etc but let him know which week we should be at it like rabbits? He's as keen for me to get knocked up as I am, possibly more so, but I don't want to take the fun out of it. Maybe the promise of a BJ or two during the tww might help.

Perhaps I am ov'ing earlier in my cycle than I thought - I wasn't expecting to do so till around day 17 (according to Ovia) but will see what the test says tomorrow.

I have an opk question. For those of you who aren't using the CB opks that give you peak fertility days before hand. How many days do you get a positive? I only ever get one positive.....for instance, I tested yesterday morning at 10.30 and it was negative although the line on the ic was very dark(the cb gave me an empty circle) at 15.30 I got a smiley face. The second wee was far darker than the first and this must make a difference? Anyway this morning at 11am I got another empty circle. Not sure why I'm writing this.....just rambling away to myself really

knit I agree with juney. Are you using internet cheap opks? Can you test later today too? When I have lines like that I test in the afternoon as well to make sure I don't miss it. Good luck. Get shagging :)

spinning I don't use CB opks. I only get a positive opk for a few hours, I have a fade in, fade out pattern over a couple of days although it fades out quickly. I test a few times in the day when the lines are getting darker. I generally only get positive opks in the afternoon at about 4 pm. I have wee'd on A LOT of sticks to check this.

Oyster, i think the early days of ttc are good fun as its all quite exciting. We're on our 22nd cycle and it's tough at times. My cycles are about 27 days so ov time comes round quite frequently. Dp knows i temp and use opks. This doesn't stress him out, he knows that for us time is against us and he knows what I'm doing is to help us.
If your dh is into sexy underwear then that can help but for my dp it just adds to the pressure. We try and keep it fun and often have a laugh about how unromantic it is at ov time. Sometimes it just all gets a bit much for us both and especially when dp is tired.

Purdey, I forgot to say earlier but you make a good point (as always) regarding the uselessness of us having sex eod leading to ov. I always get my positive on cd11 so maybe next cycle we will do as you suggest and go for the 3 days from cd11

Has anyone had vaginal twinges? I have got pain inside - not the usual tugging feeling when AG if due but more like a stabbing pain.

I can't help with opk quesions as not using these yet. Did just pay to upgrade my FF subscription though for a year so hopefully that will tempt the law of sod.
