Update from me, had first fertility appointment today. I was sort of warned from the threads on here it would be total waste of time but still really disappointed. Like Laura, had to sit in maternity outpatients and see all the pregnant people going past the whole time. We're at 26 months trying, all initial tests fine. Gynae just arranged for me to have HSG and told us we can't be referred for IVF etc until we've been trying for 3 years because of the area we live in. So it would be nearly another year! We're actually moving out of the area soon so I'm going to need to start the process again anyway with a new GP... I think I just realised what a long process it is and it was so disappointing not feeling like there was any progress after waiting for this appointment for so long!

Rant over, hope you're all having a good day.

kiwi research options in your new area. I didn't go to a gynae, just straight to fc and was given a choice of 3 in my county so worth finding out which is best/has shortest waiting list on hfea website

Hey all - my MN decided to spontaneously 'unwatch' the thread?! Hope you're ok Lil and so frustrating Kiwi hope your next area is a bit more ready to help!

I had my HSG today and altho the procedure itself wasn't too painful I now feel like I have a balloon filled with period pain in my stomach :( I've even come to bed early to try and sleep thru it! Feeling quietly excited by the success stories though...

My private appt has had to be moved back 2 weeks which is a shame but can't be helped and I've had a good first conversation with Reprofit and we look all set and able to go there in Feb. I'm half a stone down on the 5:2 which I'm still loving so I feel it's all going in the right direction at the moment. Thinking of you all :) xx

Just a quick update. I had ec today. Waiting to here how many of the 12 eggs collected are mature.

All 5 are still going, though one is a bit fragmented. 1 of them is 4 cell and the rest are 2 cell atm. I'm booked in for transfer tomorrow!

Hi ladies can I join you? TTC since December 2013. No success yet at all. I had bloods which were fine and hubs SA has just come back fine. I have made an appointment with the GP.... What happens next? Do I need to ask for something or will they refer us?? Any help?

Hi kin you may find they won't refer you until you've been ttc 2 years as you have no indicators of infertility from the tests done by gp. Check local clinic website though as my clinic says refer after a year but gp insisted it was 2. We had sperm problems so wasn't an issue to get referred in the end.
When you do get referred they'll do ultrasound and hsg (contrast xray) to check tubes are clear, no scarring, cysts etc and from that they'll make a recommendation for treatment. If no issues found usually iui. If tubes blocked ivf.

Lil how'd transfer go today?

Hi mama it went well thanks. Of our 5 there was 1 that seems to have stopped growing, 2 really good 7 cells that have been transferred, and the other two are being cultured on to see how they are doing tomorrow and decide if they are worth freezing. They look OK but seem to have slowed down. One of them was actually yesterday's favourite so I'm glad they waited for a day 3 transfer.
So begins the tww!

Glad all went well Lil! Argh hate the 2ww! I'm 7dpo today and desperately trying not to symptom spot!!! Our 3rd anniversary on Monday and we're going to a posh hotel for the night and it'd be so perfect if it were our last as a pair...

Laura don't put that sort of pressure on yourself. Just enjoy your anniversary, what will be will be.

kin what lil said. You'll be sent for an ultrasound and hsg to check your womb and tubes. Sometimes TTC takes longer than expected even with no signs of infertility. Me and dh conceived on cycle 30, it can and does happen. Keep trying :-)

mama the penis dragons were asking after you on Facebook, hope all is OK? Any more news about starting ivf?

OTD is 8th but my mum will be over that day so thinking of testing 7th or 9th. Or 7th. lol
