Thanks for the link, Sparkly. Not many responses but we know this thing works, right? Poster girl? Smile I'm a little concerned that I'm not using a catheter, despite one of those ladies pointing out that women do get pregnant from shallow ejaculation.

What are everyone's thoughts on Tuesday's statement from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists?: 'Drinking around the date of conception and during the first twelve weeks of pregnancy may increase the risk of miscarriage. For women planning a family, it is advisable not to drink during this time. Either partner drinking heavily can make it more difficult to conceive.'

juneybean · 13/02/2015 08:46

Is it not excessive drinking though? One of the first things I remember was a fellow school girl worrying she had fried her foetus by drinking at the weekend (turns out she wasn't pregnant after all)

But I've always been of the party one drink here and there won't hurt. But I expect drinking excessively will harm.

Are they now saying any drink can harm it? There are a lot of children conceived whilst drunk...

Juney Germany now!?! What a trip they have been on!

Purdey Around conception too now? Many drs (mstly in America) advise their women to have a glass of wine before going upstairs TTC becuase it relaxes you and you're less stressed therefore fall pregnant easier. Also there is that statement "it may" actually I think they have no idea what impact it may have at the point of conception. How many women do we think sign up to a trial when TTC to say right have a big drink just before you try and we will monitor you to see how many babies in the test group don't make it in the first 12 weeks?!?!

juneybean · 13/02/2015 08:57

Never have I been so glad to see this guy!

They say it's coming tomorrow... I will be picking it up from the depot hopefully.

Austral, permission to untick the 'interrupted sleep' boxes. 'Tis normal for you and me

Purple, what is your normal cycle length? Those temps do point to AF being just around the corner. Did FF change your ov day then?

Mummy, your story is interesting. When I was preggo with N-Pantz - and despite knowing the exact date she was transferred to my uterus as a five-day blastocyst - they wanted to induce me because their scans showed a size of baby inconsistent with my LMP. I had to tell them a million times - including the consultant who was leading my care - that I would refuse to be induced when I knew full fecking well how old my baby was..to the day. I got my own way in the end and the nipper was born at 41 weeks Grin

Mustbe, you are very kind. I love 'Dolly Chops'!

Spinning, do you know the Grin you put on your daily morning salute to us really cheers me up Smile

Juney, what can I say. This is colossally fecked-up and I feel awful for you waiting and wondering. How are the anxiety levels? How are you focusing on the nippers with this swirling in your head? Thanks

juneybean · 13/02/2015 09:05

Thankfully I've been on afternoon/evening shifts so am trying to remain calm at home, just had a bath and will be starting work at 1pm and tbh they probably help to take my mind off it all!

I'm going for coffee with my mum shortly and I hadn't told her I was doing plan b (didn't want to get her hopes up) so not sure whether to tell her

I wonder about the stats for miscarriage for women that have drunk a lot during the time of conception and the early weeks and those who have not. It makes sense not to drink or at least to take it easy as baby is forming then.however, I got very drunk before I got my bfp with ds. We'd been trying for a while so I wasn't expecting it. I was so sick the next day and couldn't get out of bed. Never been like that before and I wonder if my body was getting rid of all that bad stuff! Oh and ds is completely fineSmile

nightandthelight · 13/02/2015 09:12

I took my friend on a complete bender three days before her bfp (unknowingly I hasten to add) and the next day we were both so ill. Am not advocating that but her baby (my Goddaughter) os perfectly healthy :) so relieved as I would have felt guilty for life otherwise!

spinningirl10 · 13/02/2015 09:13

Haha pleased it cheers you Purdey, I've done it for so long, I thought you might think I was all nuts with my smiley face every morningGrin

mummyofonesofar · 13/02/2015 09:17

Purdey I didn't have a date for LMP becuse I had trouble with the pill and had a month long AF then they stopped for a month while hormones settled before I fell pregnant. I wish I was as ballsy then as I am now, I would have stamped my feet too. I said all the way through that I didn't agree with the due date that seemed to be a big guess from the start. Contractions had started as I was admitted to hospital before I was induced but slowed down when down as they started pumping me full of inducement drugs. 43 hours after I arrived I finally had him. Supposedly 16 days late. I wish they had left me alone!

Like when I went to my midwife at 38 weeks to say my waters had leaked and she said no I must have just pee'd myself. When they burst my waters it was a funny colour and DS came out with a sticky eye (they then said due to my age it must be Chlamydia) and I ended up with a huge infection in my womb postnatal - they then said my hindwaters must have gone a while ago. But clearly I knew nothing about my own body! Confused

Autumn2014 · 13/02/2015 09:21

still here, still reading. I must confess that I can't up with all the personal replies, but I am glad to see jb that things are looking good.
I still haven't started AF, I think I must have ov later than I thought and now not due on until Monday? occasionally getting a heavy feeling in my uterus but it could be just my body getting ready for AF.
I conceived my first child after a big night out at wedding. we both had a great time drinking and dancing and stayed over at the hotel. I remember telling my friend that I was as pregnant as she was married. but then I can't say my baby was born the picture health... but who know why he has a serious heart/lung defect. just one of those things...? and I don't beat myself up over it and he was conceived in loving circumstances.

Cariad2014 · 13/02/2015 09:21

Sorry AF arrived MrsG. Waiting for mine to arrive any hour now. Waves at Boosk as well - I really hope your AF is gentle if/ when she turns up. See you both on the March bus.

Juney - sorry you're having such trouble with your DHL delivery - sounds nightmarish. It will SO be worth it once you get your BFP though.

Waves at Sparkly and Spinning - I SO hope that this is your month.

purdeybirdie · 13/02/2015 09:22

Mummy the second temp is invalid after a sleep of only 2.25 hrs.

Yes, the drink advice is ludicrously inconsistent. However, women are drinking more than they ever did and I absolutely think that, one hundred years hence, they will attribute the subfertility of women in the early part of the 21st Century to alcohol consumption and not just putting off motherhood for their careers.

Does anyone think I am in danger of cooking my womb with having my laptop on my lap for long periods of time? It is a Jurassic Fujitsu relic that doesn't get very warm at all underneath and appears to emit all the heat from its side vent. Opinions, please..

spinningirl10 · 13/02/2015 09:23

Mustbemad,

Coffee poas yesterday morning and it was a bfn, twiceHmm

purdeybirdie · 13/02/2015 09:27

Juney, what does that open circle mean?

Sparkly, FF have bottled it and pinpointed ov at the BBT nadir which is also a day after my LH surge (I always ov the day after the surge and so they will take that as my primary indicator, no?) Craven bastards Grin

Rolling rolling rolling, the February bus is still rolling!
mummyofonesofar · 13/02/2015 09:35

Stating to worry I don't ov fit some reason. Been taking pregnacare which made my AF 5 days late last cycle. But this is getting silky. I only have 27 day cycles normally.

Rolling rolling rolling, the February bus is still rolling!
mummyofonesofar · 13/02/2015 09:36

Oops it's silly not silky!

nightandthelight · 13/02/2015 09:37

Can you get one of those lap tables purdey?

mummyofonesofar · 13/02/2015 09:37

General bad typos.... Apologies!

BananaRaces · 13/02/2015 10:00

Well, after messing me about with spotting and etc and generally making me think I might be upduffed for the last 4 days, AF is here with a vengeance today!

She woke me up at 2am as well and didn't let me get back to sleep, so I am in work now in lots of pain, knackered and generally feeling sorry for myself. Can one of you ladies please give me permission to go home? Grin

I shan't see any of you on the March bus, because you're all going to get BFPs - that's an order!! Smile

Purplecuddlykoala14 · 13/02/2015 10:10

Thanks Purdey. My cycles have been 24-26 days since stopping bc. Lp average 11 days. So ov'd cd 13 with 11 day lp had me thinking this would be 24 days.
Hope your delivery turns up Juney
Hope everyone has a fab Friday.

CoffeeTwo · 13/02/2015 10:17

Morning all!

Sorry to ginger and banana that AF arrived. Good to hear about your extended lp though ginger.

juney I'm annoyed for you that your sperm is so far away.

My temp took a nose dive this morning. Saved me the disappointment of another bfn though, and the cost of peeing on sticks!

AF should be due Monday ov was calculated correctly. DS's third birthday. Hope I can be as cheerful as possible for him.

ExcitedA3 · 13/02/2015 10:18

Hi ladies, my AF is due on Sunday but I thought I'd take a first response test this morning... There was a very faint line on the test...

purdeybirdie · 13/02/2015 10:19

Mummy, how come you haven't input the temp from 4.15 this morning? I think you should, simply adding a note to your chart to indicate the room was freezing. It could be you are ov-ing today and that low temp this morning is the classic BBT nadir?

Sorry for the AFs turning up Sad

It's quiet on here this morning..

victoria401 · 13/02/2015 10:20

Getting hopes up stupidly now :-( chocolate stuff completely stopped and replaced by copious clear stuff! Also I remember April/trixie saying that vivid dreams means temp is high and I'm still dreaming! Coz like I said yesterday every time I've had the random bleed, af turns up 2 days later every time. Today is 2 days later!

June hope you get your parcel. I'd be on the phone to them every 5 minutes. Don't they know how vital this parcel is?! If you miss your slot sue their arse off! I'm guessing it doesnt keep until the following month?

Sorry af arrived banana :-(

Any other news I missed? Kinda skim read....
